For Hepatitis C "I completed my 8-week treatment about 2 months ago and can't wait to see my final blood work results next month. I was very apprehensive about starting Mavyret because of the side effects, mostly headache. I never experienced any side effects whatsoever, and at my 28-day/4-week blood work, my Hep C was undetectable. I would recommend this treatment for Hep C to just about anyone, but of course, talk to your doctor. Thanks, Mavyret."

For Hepatitis C "So my doctor told me I have the treatment for 100 days. I am starting week 8 today. This morning I woke up and realized I only had a week's worth left of my meds and went to place the shipping on my next dose. The special RX told me they did not have another refill. I called my doctor and they said they will get in touch. Now I am getting calls from multiple different pharmacies saying I only have 8 weeks. Then why does my prescription say 100 days? I really hope he knows what he is doing. I haven't had any side effects besides a slight headache here and there. I believe my doctor should have been a little more transparent with me if he was going to change the dose. I go for my blood work on Friday, then again in 3 months. I hope this stuff worked! The one thing I can say is I don't feel tired like I used to, so I believe just from my body that if it didn't cure me, it definitely lowered my count dramatically."

For Hepatitis C "I was very afraid of side effects. I have had a couple of headaches that really may have been due to other issues. I'm so relieved I'm starting my third week today, and I feel fine. I take them at the same time each day, with food. So far, no problem. Whew. I get tested next week, so how well it's worked remains to be seen. If you're hesitating to try this, remember how fortunate you are to get this medication. We are so blessed we get to cure ourselves. Just like that. Don't wait, it'll be fine."

For Hepatitis C "I am into my first week of taking Mavyret, and so far, so good. I've had Hep C for 10 years, and I'm so glad to be able to get cured. So far, only one bad headache, and I caught a cold, but overall everything seems to be fine. I'll report more next week."

For Hepatitis C "I am a 36-year-old female, had hep C 10 years, no liver problems, very healthy. While taking Mavyret, I felt fine, maybe a headache here and there. But I had every bad side effect weeks following the meds. I have severe panic, severe stomach issues. My advice would be to continue eating healthy and chugging water even after the meds are done because they aren't really done. And if you suffer from bad anxiety, ask the doctor for a sedative because you will need it. I have never felt this bad in my life. I have been to the ER multiple times since quitting and can't seem to calm myself, had to take leave from work. My brain cannot handle any stress whatsoever. My first blood panel was clear of hep C, though."

For Hepatitis C "Day 7 on Mavyret and have had mild side effects. Some headaches and light nausea. Was really nervous to take this but so glad I’ve started. Going well so far. Side effects totally manageable. A little tired and seem to wind easily but still working out with a trainer. Keep you posted for week 2!"

For Hepatitis C "So I am 3 weeks in. I take mine right before bed and woke up throughout the night with diarrhea and would have a weird intense headache in the first week. After that, I felt fine, but today is kind of rough. I missed a dose because I was too nauseous to eat. So I took it this morning, and it’s not going very well. Major stomach issues and vomiting. I may have a stomach bug because it’s very intense to the point I can’t go to work. I just wanted to see if these symptoms are common, and I see they are just not so intense. I have to remind myself how lucky I am to have the chance to take such an expensive medication to change my life, so this is a small price to pay."

For Hepatitis C "I've started Mavyret 1 week ago. I'm on a 12-week prescription. At the beginning, I had slight headaches, nausea, but not too bad as of now. I'm having irritating itching, but am grateful to be on the medicine. Looking forward to a clean bill of health at the end of treatment."

For Hepatitis C "So I started Mavyret on May 3, 2018, after being diagnosed since 2013. I am finally on my way to being cured, which is a blessing. So far, I'm in my second week now and have experienced only a few side effects, such as headache and diarrhea, which was only once and could have been totally unrelated to the meds. But I'm starting to feel better already. I have my first labs done on May 30 and again the following month in June, and then my final labs to see if I'm cured. I'm now thinking about throwing away all my old razors and toothbrushes just to be safe, and regularly switch them out from time to time. To anyone who is going to take this medication, do it now while you can, it's a blessing to have the opportunity to be cured."

For Hepatitis C "I have had hep C for about 20 years. Today is my 3rd day on the medication. I started on Saturday, 9/29, at 3:30 pm. On this day, I only had a slight pressure headache, however, last night, I went to bed with a slightly worse feeling in my head. I woke up at 2:30 am and again at 4 am with my head pounding. I finally took 400 mg of Ibuprofen, went back to sleep, woke up at 5:45 am, and the headache was gone. The only other symptom I have noticed is itching on my palms and feet, a little bit over my body as well. So far, so good. I will post again soon. I am very thankful that I was able to take this medication."

For Hepatitis C "I’m on week 4 of Mavyret. I take it at night with a meal and milk. I’ve had very minimal side effects. I still have mild headaches in the morning, but I’m grateful for this treatment and look forward to living life. Don’t give up."

For Hepatitis C "I started this medication 5 days ago. The 1st 3 days were horrible. I had a headache that was just so bad and had moments of flu-like symptoms. I was going to discontinue it, and thank goodness I didn't. On the 4th day, all side effects were gone! I am drinking at least 2 liters of water per day, which was recommended to ease the headaches. So far, so good! I will post an update soon."

For Hepatitis C "Have just been approved for Mavyret. Presumably infected in 1969 after being transfused with 17 pints of blood during emergency surgery... no IV drugs, tattoos, or piercings... not even ears. Learned of the infection in the late '90s after donating blood. Symptom-free and a low viral count since I started following this thing. Interferon and ribavirin for 18 months (!!) in the late '90s. Was brutal. Virus went undetected but returned. Insurer refused to approve Harvoni, MD said because my viral load was too low. Would like to hear more from people who report symptoms similar to Interferon: aches, joint pain, brain fog, nausea, headache, hair loss. I had them all with Interferon/ribavirin. Not supposed to happen with this drug. Waiting to see if I can get some help with the cost. Will be reporting back when I begin my 8-week program. Doc wanted me to do 12 weeks because of the relapse, but insurance would only cover 8. I'm very hopeful."

For Hepatitis C "Starting week 5 and waiting on my first blood results since I started. I honestly feel great, I have genotype 3, which they say is the hardest to cure. I just hope it works because, honestly, I haven’t had any side effects from it. I sleep a little longer, and I have had a few headaches now and then, but nothing terrible. I don’t even know if it’s from the medication. But so far, so good, hopefully, it cures."

For Hepatitis C "Thank you everyone for posting, am halfway through week 5 of Mavyret & have only had 3 decent night's sleep since starting treatment; had headache the first 3 weeks & complete loss of appetite the first 16 days, & recurring extreme hunger in the middle of the night (despite eating high-nutrition foods), unsure yet if treatment has worked (tests are not until a month after finishing treatment), agree with many comments that the emotional toll of the treatment is quite high at times, be easy on yourself while on this treatment, eat a very good diet & do some things that make you happy. Also feeling colder than usual (body temperature)...here's hoping it works!"

For Hepatitis C "Just finished week 2 of Mavyret. The side effects I do have are very weird! So far, no headaches or nausea, and I'd say only 2 out of 7 days are bad or crappy ones. Most days I feel fine! Side effects I've experienced so far are hot, burning in my face, dizziness, achy sore body, fatigue, and just a weird anxious, disassociated feeling. Also, today I am feeling a weird feeling in my hands and other extremities that is hard to explain. I've gotten two episodes of really bad anxiety, but they passed. Sometimes I feel like I have icy hot on my hands and body, and restless limbs. But I am so glad I haven't felt any nausea or headaches! It's flying by, and I am so happy to have this all over with soon."

For Hepatitis C "Ok, starting week 6. I really have not had any major side effects. The pain in hands and knees is much less. I'm not sure the pain in my feet is related to hep C or medication. I have caught a bad cold or flu, which I rarely ever have. Been having more painful headaches, which more water hasn't helped. Now taking occasional ibuprofen. I really am not sure if any of the symptoms I had or am having are related to the medication other than added fatigue and insomnia. Sometimes I wonder if it is really working. I had 4-week labs and am anxiously awaiting results!"

For Hepatitis C "I have been treated with a combination of interferon given by injection in the abdomen and Ribavirin, which lowered my viral load but didn’t clear the virus. More than ten years later, I tried an oral combination of Sovaldi and Ribavirin, which apparently did not completely clear the virus. The first round of treatments was a nightmare, with my abdomen covered in bruises from injections and side effects that made me wonder if death would be better. The second treatment was much less harsh but still difficult, like having a mild case of the flu. I am two months post-treatment with Mavyret and virus-free. Mavyret is completely tolerable, with very few mild side effects of itching, headache, and fatigue."

For Hepatitis C "In 2009 my HC Quantitation was 3,965,000. Gene type 1a. I choose not to take the treatment because it would require downtime. I had people depending on me, and my doctor told me that new medications would be available in the future that would have fewer side effects. In 2022 my HCQ was 1,450,000, I decided to try Mavyret. I keep a log of my symptoms: fatigue and headache were the worst ones. I was able to continue with my regular schedule (which was a relief). My headaches caused parts of my brain to feel like pressure was being applied to it. I tried not to take any medication but eventually had to take medication for relief. I had unusual dreams but didn't have insomnia. My treatment was 8 weeks. I read to eat a meal before your medicine so the medicine would be absorbed better. I had good days and bad days. I finished my treatment in 2023. I am waiting to be tested again. I will comment again after my 12-week blood work."

For Hepatitis C "I am in the middle of my third week of Mavyret. The first week was diarrhea and headaches. Now just headaches, but occasionally pop a couple of Advil and I'm fine. I honestly have a TON more energy. I feel slight 'liver twinges' occasionally, like after a night of drinking with hep C. I called the company, and they said that has never been reported as a side effect. Not painful. I'm being positive and considering it my liver healing. Eagerly awaiting my 2-week lab results! Genotype 4. I'll keep you updated. I'm on a few psych meds, but honestly haven't noticed any horrible side effects!!!"

For Hepatitis C "A few days in and I feel better than I’ve felt in years. I’m waking up super easily, clear-headed, with lots of energy. Hope this doesn’t change. But I have 7 more weeks to go. Hope I don’t get the aches and fatigue. A headache I can deal with."

For Hepatitis C "Week two - have no liver damage or fibrosis. Initial count of 7 million. Have had the usual reported side effects, headache, nausea, etc. I already suffer from abdominal issues and chronic diarrhea, so difficult to pinpoint whether or not the drug has made things worse. We are currently in the middle of an excruciating heat wave, so thought my worsening symptoms were a result of heat exhaustion. My usual diarrhea, tummy pain along with chills, fever. When the projectile vomiting and muscle cramps started... so. I was 108 pounds when I started treatment, I am now 103. I put that down to dehydration, inability to eat for the last two days, etc. I intend to stay the course, as there is some concern that this may be immuno hep C."

For Hepatitis C "I am 10 days in and going well. 8-week treatment. So far, just a headache a few times. Thinking it's from being dehydrated. Drinking more water now. Recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism, so taking levothyroxine .075 mcg, which I take at 2 am so as not to interfere with meds I take at breakfast with eggs and toast every day. We are truly blessed, all who have been given this opportunity to be cured. Keep your head up! Will post again when done."
