"I have paroxysmal AFIB which showed up several times a week for a few minutes to several hours in duration. My cardiologist put me on 50mgs flecainide twice a day last November (2021). It has been a wonderful relief. Except for a few PACs every now and again I have been free of AFIB since November. I haven't experienced any side effects that I am aware of."

"I was started on Flecainide for multiple episodes of A-fib on my holter monitor 7-day test. Within 24 hours of starting Flecainide, I started feeling terrible. I was having a rapid heart rate (feeling) more frequently, flutter sensations, general weakness and just feeling unwell. I didn't feel it was safe for me to drive because I was feeling so poorly and weak. After 48 hours I went into the cardiologist office for a previously scheduled EKG. They took me off Flecainide because of my side effects and after a "wash-out" period, I start another drug."

"I didn’t think I needed another medication for my A fib, but my doctor prescribed flecainide in addition to metoprolol. My biggest complaint with the flecainide is the taste. It is disgusting!!"

"Prescribed after metoprolol alone failed to control nightly paroxysmal AFib. 100mg twice daily along with 50mg metoprolol. Helped immediately, but when I tried to cut out or cut down on the metoprolol, the AFib started to appear nightly again. Cardiologist had me on metoprolol alone for three months beforehand which worked good, but then started coming back almost nightly. So for me the combination of 100mg Flecainide x2 daily and 50 mg metroprolol succinate once a day seems to be the ticket to controlling AFib. I do need to stay away from the booze, which seems to be my trigger for AFib."
