"I became epileptic at age 12 and was put on ethosuximide and phenytoin. Initially, I had a bad throat infection, sores on my face, and depression. I couldn’t concentrate at school and felt exhausted. That said, I am still on it today at age 73 and seizure-free, driving, have worked, and had a family. I think young children should be monitored closely for side effects, keeping in mind they may lessen with time."
