"I came to leave a review after reading all of the negative reviews prior to starting this pill and feeling extremely discouraged/anxious about taking it. I spent the last year trying to find a birth control that didn't make me severely depressed, anxious, gain weight or break out. This pill was my last hope with oral contraceptives as I was ready to give up. I finally feel I have found a pill that doesn't make me feel like I am going insane. My depression and anxiety has almost completely disappeared, I feel the happiest I have ever been. My periods are so light with zero cramping and my skin is the clearest it has ever been. I know everyone reacts to birth control pills differently but I came to leave a positive review in hopes to give someone a little peace of mind if they are being prescribed Elinest"

"Honestly, I love this birth control! My periods are lighter, fewer cramps, my skin is clear, and my depression has lifted. It's insane. Also, I haven't gotten pregnant, so that's a bonus, haha. 12/10 recommend!!!"

"I’ve been on the birth control pill Elinest for 4 or so years now, it was my first birth control ever. I started my period when I was 10 years old and am now 19. The time before I started taking Elinest, I never once had a yeast infection. But since I’ve been on it for the past four years, I’ve gotten a yeast infection every couple of months, and they would last for a couple of months until I took a doctor-recommended prescription. Then the rounds would start over again after a month or two. I honestly think that this birth control has been contributing heavily to these infections. The best parts about this are that it has helped significantly with my flow, length of my period, and cramps. I used to not be able to move because I was in so much pain, and it hasn’t hurt like that since I started 4 years ago. But having yeast infections almost all the time is not worth the benefits."

"Started this medication during my first year of high school. I was so grateful for my newly found solution to heavy periods. I continued on this medication for about 6 years and praised it to everyone. After constant spotting and other issues, I decided to finally stop it. WOW!! This medication increased my anxiety, brought on paranoia, and even mood swings, and I never felt in control of myself. I didn’t realize how bad I felt until I stopped it. Not only did it take my mild anxiety to severe, it left me feeling increasingly depressed at times. Heavily consider the pros and cons before starting this medication. I had felt off for years, my partner even noticed that after a couple of months, I mellowed out and stabilized A LOT from just that one change of stopping. Unfortunately, our society has not valued putting resources into finding better birth control methods for women. I was never informed about the possible side effects, etc., at age 15."

"I love this birth control. I'm paralyzed from the waist down. I have decreased sensation, but I was getting horrible, horrible cramps before this medication. I take it straight with no placebos and let myself have a period every 3 to 4 months. This pill was an absolute lifesaver. No mood swings or acne, just positive results. My cramps have been gone since I started taking it. 10 out of 10 for me."

"I’ve always had heavy, abnormal uterine bleeding and polyps. I’m waiting for my hysteroscopy in 2 weeks. I was on the Cryselle-28 day (which reduced my bleeding) for 2 months until my local Rite Aid pharmacy switched the brand to Elinest. The first few days of taking it, I was having severe cramps with inflammation and heavy, painful bleeding. By the end of the week, I was gushing out blood and clots and wearing nighttime maxi pads which were getting soaked every hour. I’m still heavily bleeding as I write this review, and I’m so reluctant to take another pill. My pharmacy doesn’t carry Cryselle anymore, so I’m stuck on what to do next."

"Began taking this, and for the first week, I was fine. The second week brought terrible morning sickness and sometimes even vomiting. I even took it along with food, it didn't seem to help. Does not interact well with alcohol either. My anxiety worsened as well while on this, totally not worth it. Don't recommend."

"I rated this a 10/10 because I was extremely happy with the side effects/results I was looking for in this pill. Although this is a birth control pill, I was taking it for personal reasons. Which being, I had heard that birth control usually made your breasts larger. I don't like my natural breast size/butt size or body weight and the reason I started taking this birth control in the first place was a medical reason, but I wanted to continue taking it for the breast enlargement/weight gain reason. I was taking it for a total of three months. I started noticing a change in breast size and weight gain/butt enlargement (due to weight gain) within about a month or a month and a half of taking this birth control. It boosted my self-confidence/esteem."

"So, I’ve been taking Elinest for about 4 months now, and I’ve been bleeding and/or spotting almost continuously. I guess it’s helped somewhat with my moods, but the bleeding is just not worth it at all. I’ve also been breaking out a lot on my face and neck, which I really didn't need. I don’t recommend it at all."

"I was on Cryselle-28 for a long time until my pharmacy decided to change it to Elinest. I immediately started getting horrible hormonal acne all on my jawline, realized my birth control was switched to this generic brand, and made my pharmacy switch back. Will never be on any other birth control again."

"This is horrible. I broke out so bad, and I had pimples for MONTHS. Then it left me with such bad acne scars and hyperpigmentation. The only reason I got on this pill was to clear my acne, and it backfired on me so bad. On top of that, my feelings were always low, and I always felt sad. 0/10. This is the worst birth control."

"This is one awful birth control. I only took it for 6 days, and around day 4, I started having heavy feelings of depression. So I stopped it, and then the very next day, I got hit with a huge wave of severe depression and anxiety. Had anxiety attacks and depression bad for 2 weeks following, and around week 3, my mood started to slowly return. I'm in week 4 now and still feel a little down and am still having anxiety. Also, my heart feels like it's pounding out of my chest, and my body constantly trembles. 10 out of 10 do not recommend. This has ruined my life! Hope I recover soon."

"Love it, been in it for about 3 1/2 years now... lighter period, less cramping... keeps me regular... I take it every morning with no problems."

"Do not recommend this birth control, Elinest, it made me severely depressed to the point I had to receive help. I also had hot flashes, spotting, migraines, mood swings, acne, water retention, and nausea. I was only on it for 4 months, but that was enough time for me to completely lose myself. I hope this helps someone else going through the same roller coaster."
