"I have been taking TriNessa for more than a year, and I can easily say it is a good fit for me. I have regular, lighter periods, clear skin, and it hasn't made me gain any extra weight. I take them at the same time every day and have never missed a pill."

"Over 2 months... I've gained 10 lbs, awful mood swings, headaches (which I never used to get), and fatigue. I switched to this to help with my spotting, but I feel like I'd take the spotting over this any day! Not happy."

"I was switched to TriNessa from Tri-Sprintec after switching insurance companies. Before I started taking it, I came to this site and read a lot of terrible reviews. I was about to go back to the doctor and ask to write my prescription for Tri-Sprintec only but decided to give TriNessa a try. I did not start TriNessa on the same cycle I had been on with Tri-Sprintec for the past two years and did experience a longer than normal period (about 8 days, but very light). Now, on my second month, I have not gained any weight, have not had mood swings, and my period is actually lighter now than it was with Tri-Sprintec (only three days and very light). I will, without a doubt, stay on TriNessa and recommend it to others."

"I have taken this for 5 years. I have no symptoms at all with this pill. I have tried two others before I started TriNessa and had terrible side effects. This pill has been great with no migraines or weight gain."

"Do not take this. DO NOT TAKE THIS. I'm 26 and weigh 135 lbs. I started taking TriNessa in July 2016, and one month later, I'm in the hospital coughing up blood with uncontrollable pain in my side. They did a CT, and it came back that I had a blood clot in my left lung. They said my birth control caused it. I became so swollen in my legs just 2 days before the clot went into my lung. I'm a very healthy woman, and this medication almost took my life. Please be careful. It's been 4 months, and I'm still short of breath. 40% of my lung died because it wasn't getting oxygen. I'm on blood thinners twice a day. Don't think this can't happen to you. Estrogen thickens your blood. I'm just so thankful I didn't have a stroke."

"I've been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for 10 years and loved it -- totally normal periods, no weight gain, all good. This month I had to switch to the Ortho Tri-Cyclen generic called TriNessa because of the discontinuation of Ortho Tri-Cyclen, and I feel like a crazy person. It's only been a week, but I've cried most days, and I feel like it's made my preexisting anxiety worse. I also have gained three pounds in the last week or so on it. Did this happen to anyone else on making the switch? Is this normal? They're supposed to be the same drug, so I'm surprised my body is reacting so much."

"I was prescribed Trinessa by my doctor in September of 2015 and have been taking it ever since. This is the only form of birth control that I have been on, which is why I gave it 9/10. It works very well. Prior to taking Trinessa, I had some acne, but ever since, I have clear skin and rarely ever get a pimple. I had one minor headache when I first began taking this medicine, but have not had one since. Make sure that you eat before or immediately after taking the pill, otherwise, you will feel nauseous. My periods are much lighter, and cramps are almost nonexistent. I definitely recommend this as a birth control."

"I was on the shot for about 3 years but decided to change to a birth control, and my doctor recommended TriNessa since I had mild acne. So I started taking it, and I have to say I love it. My period comes at the same time every month, no pregnancy scares, and I often have sex unprotected. My acne cleared up. The only side effect I had in the beginning was tender breasts, and being a little emotional. After it went away. I take the pill at the same time every day. So I highly recommend it to everyone."

"I recently went on TriNessa after being off of birth control for several years. I explained to my doctor that when I took BC pills in the past, I always had taken the low dose Ortho Tri-Cyclen. He prescribed me the normal dose of TriNessa anyways. Needless to say, I will never take these pills again. I was given a 90-day supply, and the first few days of taking it, I was constantly nauseous. Then, after about a month, I noticed a five-pound weight gain (I am a soldier in the US military, so I work out five days a week and nothing else could have caused this), which, by the time the prescription had run out, had ballooned up to almost fifteen pounds! After roughly a month, I started having horrible mood swings. Never again will I feed myself hormones."

"I haven't had any of the horrible side effects a lot of people wrote about on here. I have almost finished the light blue pills. The only problem I had was a slight discomfort in the bottom of my belly the first couple of days. I haven't had any breakouts, but I got a cyst on my forehead the first week. I left it alone, and it went away. I haven't had any nausea. I take the pill at breakfast with eggs and toast, or sometimes just peanut butter toast. So for anyone who is scared about taking birth control, please realize most people who review drugs have something negative to say. Don't be afraid to protect yourself."

"I'm 19, and this is my first birth control pill, and it has worked great! I've been on it for a little more than 4 months. Pros: • no pregnancies • didn't change my (mostly) clear skin • no missed periods • cramps are less painful • no side effects after the first month • no change in sex drive (if anything, it increased, lmao) Cons: • on the first month, I had nausea, decreased appetite, random cramps, increased anxiety (and I already have anxiety disorders) • period flow is still the same • period still lasts 4-5 days • random bloating (I don't mind it, tbh) • my belly is a bit bigger?"

"I have never written a review for something in my life, but I am hoping I will help someone so they do not go through what I went through. DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION. EVER. I started taking TriNessa when my pharmacy ran out of my TriSprintec. I did not think anything of it and began taking the pill. However, with a couple of days of taking the pills, I was having severe depression, mood swings, then after a while, I eventually gained 20+ pounds and I got acne, which I have not had in over 5 years. DO NOT TAKE TRINESSA. I hope someone will read the reviews and not put themselves through what I went through...."

"I've been taking Trinessa for about 2 and a half months. The first week upon taking it, I had severe abdominal pain and headaches. I was hungry all the time, but due to the warning that I would have increased cravings, I controlled it rather well. It seemed to get better throughout the month, my face was clearing up, I had energy again, but I still got minor to severe pains on a regular basis. My period came after three days of being on the inactive pills and lasted 4 days. My cramps improved drastically, and I was still hormonal, just less. I started back on the pills again, and the first day I experienced extreme nausea and vomited. The nausea has continued to follow me for the past weeks, now I am looking into the NuvaRing."

"I've been on TriNessa for 5 years. Age 17 to 21. My doctor prescribed it for hormonal acne I had. I also use it for birth control, and it has worked perfectly. The first two months, I had mood swings, which is to be expected when putting hormones into yourself. I went up two cup sizes. I didn't notice it clearing my acne for about 2 or 3 months, but it's worth the wait. I do still get cramps, but nothing a motion can't fix. My acne is still present occasionally, but that is definitely due to genetics. The pill makes my periods extremely regular and accurate, which is great. I get them the fourth Wednesday of every month, always around 10-11 am. I would recommend."

"For anyone who has any trouble with anxiety or depression, I HIGHLY suggest you do not try this birth control. I have been on this pill for about a week now, and increasingly over the past 5 days, I have been nauseated at night and SEVERELY depressed, and I mean severely. Crying constantly, overthinking, irritable, mood swings, anxious to no end. I am absolutely without a doubt getting off of this medicine. I am a nursing student who has many responsibilities and cannot deal with having no motivation to do homework. Please try your best to avoid this medication at all costs."

"On my first pack of TriNessa. I had slight nausea the first night of taking the pill and a headache the next day, but otherwise, no side effects. I haven't gained any weight or broken out at all. No crazy mood swings either! I was terrified to try this pill because of the awful reviews, but I have been totally normal."

"I was on TriNessa for a little under a year. I threw up during the first week of each pack, and I was so emotional. I could hardly function, both physically and mentally. I don't know how I made it to school and passed during the first week of the pack, and I could not make it to work during the first week of each pack. The second week, I was just plain exhausted and could not do much either. The doctor kept telling me those symptoms would go away. I finally called up there as one crying, angry woman, and they finally changed it for me. I feel great and back to normal now."

"I have been on Trinessa for 2 months now, and it is my first go at a birth control pill. Overall, I'm fairly happy. The first month was a mess, but now, by the second month, things are MUCH more regular. You really have to give this pill a chance to adapt and jive with your system. My acne is improving after taking a terrible hit during the first month. I still experience occasional cystic bumps, but they are much better than before I began Trinessa. Trust me, the first month is almost hopeless. But, by the second month, things are really looking up! Don't be afraid to try it because of some of the negative reviews, you've got to find out what works with your body!"

"So I started TriNessa when I was about 15 due to irregular periods. It worked VERY well for me - a bit rocky at first, but after about 3 months, my periods were regular (I was having them twice a month) and my skin was much clearer. No cramps with little bloating. I got off of the pill due to my doctor being a bit forgetful of refills, and I didn't see a huge change until the every-two-week period came back. I am now back on it and am so thankful for it!!! 10/10 would recommend."

"I've been on TriNessa for a year now. I've never experienced any weight gain or nausea. Also, it's done a good job preventing pregnancy for me. What I like most about it is, out of the 10 different birth controls I've tried, TriNessa has kept my skin the clearest. I've had no bad experience with TriNessa. I do have slight mood swings here and there, but nothing too extreme."

"I started Trinessa a month and a half ago after being on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for a year. So far, it's been great with helping my painful periods, clearing up acne, and preventing pregnancy. The only complaint I have is the slight nausea every now and then, along with feeling fatigued. I assume this should go away the more I use it, so right now, it's a waiting game. Other than that, I like it."

"I've been on this for a month and a half. At first, it made me nauseous every day, but just in the mornings. I take the pill at dinner time. The nausea has gone away the second month. It seemed like my boobs did get fuller. But my mood swings were bad! The first month, I felt like I hated everyone, especially my fiancé. I felt more depressed than usual and wanted to cry a lot. I knew I was being moody and stuck with the pill another month to see if my mood leveled out. So far, in my second month, I am still extra sensitive and cry easily."

"I have been on TriNessa now for nine months. Within the first couple of months, I started experiencing mood changes and random panic attacks. I immediately called my gyno, and she said it had nothing to do with the pill. About two months ago, I started experiencing horrible side effects, and they have continued to get progressively worse. I have HORRIBLE anxiety, depression, mood swings, nausea, mental confusion (this is the worst, I cannot focus, concentrate, and my memory is very poor), and I am very irritable. I even started seeing a therapist for the anxiety attacks. These side effects are a complete 180 to the person I used to be before taking it. I usually am a happy, fun, loving, and extremely cheerful person."

"Trinessa was great at first! I have always had pretty good skin, and it has not altered that. I did not gain weight, and my period was lighter. Unfortunately, I experienced a lot more cons than pros. First, I noticed that I was unable to control my blood pressure. It was to the point where I almost needed pills for my blood pressure, and I have never had a problem previously. Aside from the blood pressure, I was over-emotional. I'm a very outgoing person, but I found it hard to be around others these past few months because I was annoying! I cried about everything. I was supremely jealous if my friends hung out without me, and I'm never like that. I would get sad in the middle of the day or night with no explanation. I feel a tremendous change after stopping."

"I was on Tri-Nessa for almost 6 months. It did its job on birth control. My acne was almost gone with this medication, and I felt less hormonal during my time of the month. Worked great for me. No abnormal bleeding with this one. The bad effect that happened to me: During the 6-month period, I gained 25 pounds. I went from 110 to 135 lbs. I wasn't like a twig, I was fit. But then after this, I got tired and just ate all the time. I also got really nauseous from the first 2 weeks. Works well, but the side effects were bad. Everybody is different, but this is what happened to me."
