For Birth Control "I'm 19 yrs old, going on 20 soon. I've been using Tri-Cyclen Lo for 3 months now, and I must say that this is the best birth control pill out there! I've tried Diane before, and I was nauseous every morning, and I had to stop it before I could even finish a week. With Tri-Cyclen Lo, I have not had any bad side effects, except an increase in breast size (happy me!). I wasn't nauseous from it, didn't gain any weight, not much difference with my pimples, and most of all I haven't changed as an individual; no mood swings or change of personality. I'm more than happy with this!"

For Birth Control "I have taken this pill for 8 years. I am 23, 5'1, 110 lbs. Have never experienced weight gain and never had a pregnancy scare. I have always had clear skin, and it stayed that way throughout the pill. I missed a couple of pills last month and had spotting for a couple of weeks. But I swear by this pill! Although, once in a while, it did cause slight nausea and usually always low sex drive, as most others have agreed. Other than that, I think it's a great form of medication."

For Birth Control "I was on this pill for almost 7 years straight. I had zero issues with side effects. No mood swings, nausea, depression, or changes in appetite. Sex drive was the same, if not increased. I had fluctuated with weight on this pill, but it was because of bad diets. I ended up losing the weight with proper eating habits and exercise. The problem I have with this pill is that towards the end of my time on it, I started getting breakthrough bleeding. It is annoying. Otherwise, this pill is perfect for me. I went off the pill for a few years and went back on to this because of ovarian cysts. After a few months, the breakthrough bleeding still came back. Sometimes it's so light I don't notice, other times, it's like having a second period."

For Birth Control "This is my 2nd time on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. First time was great. No side effects. I took it for around a year then decided to switch to Depo. Here I am again taking it, only this time is bad! I get a daily headache, really bad nausea followed by occasional vomiting, cramps, spotting, vaginal dryness, my sex drive has gone out the window, leg cramps in my calf, bloating, yeast infections, and frequent urinary tract infections. I'm not sure where or when my body changed to completely dislike this birth control. It has kept me unpregnant, which is the only good thing."

For Ovarian Cysts "While on this pill, I had a very positive experience. My cysts were gone, and the pain was under control. No nausea, my acne cleared up completely, and my breasts grew 1 whole cup size! (a bonus for me) My periods were lighter, and I had no cramping. Previous to this pill, I tried 4 other brands that made me feel completely sick and unable to do anything. I've been off birth control for about 3 years now, and I am probably going to get back on. My periods have been irregular with very bad cramping! Surely giving Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo another shot"

For Birth Control "I've been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for about 6 months now, and I haven't had many side effects. Good: I went from having terrible cramps to practically no cramps at all. No nausea, no headaches, no spotting. Boobs got a little bigger. Bad: My sex drive was already very low, and now it's even lower. I feel like I could easily go without sex for the rest of my life. Because of this, I will be switching to another pill when this month is done."

For Birth Control "Been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo 28 days for 1.5 years, and it’s been great! Not a single pregnancy scare, decreased cramps, no nausea, barely any mood swings, overall excellent! HOWEVER, just recently got switched to the GENERIC version, Tricira Lo, which was fine for the first 3 months, but as of a month ago, I’ve been recently having terrible brand-new symptoms! Never missed a pill and take it at generally the same time every night like I always have! A month ago, I started having terrible cramps and got my period a week early (during the active pills), which lasted for two weeks! I have had various panic attacks and find my anxiety to be 10 times worse than it was before, not to mention I’ve been feeling nothing like myself lately! Extremely sensitive, crying all the time, very short-tempered. A month later, I get my period today, once again during my ACTIVE pills, already accompanied by terrible cramps! Terrible! 7 stars because the real brand generic version is good! BUT THE GENERIC IS rubbish!"

For Birth Control "I am on the generic version of Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. I've only been on it for one month, but so far I love it. I'm coming off of 5+ years of Depo shots, so I know my body hasn't fully gotten rid of the Depo yet. For this reason, I still haven't gotten a period on Ortho yet. But my mood hasn't changed, I haven't gained weight, and I don't have acne or nausea. I am slightly worried about getting pregnant because of prior reviews where this has happened on Ortho, but my husband pulls out as well, so I'm hoping we'll be fine. My boobs have gotten bigger, which I love! They are rounder and fuller. They are slightly more tender than usual but not to the point where it hurts. Anyway, I haven't been on it long, but I wanted to leave a positive review!"

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for 6 months now and highly considering going off of birth control completely. This pill makes me nauseous, my breasts are always tender, and if I'm not crying, I'm in a screaming fit of rage (my poor husband). It does regulate your cycles. My period usually lasted 9 days, and now it only lasts 3 or 4. But I'd take 9-day periods over feeling like this any day."

For Birth Control "I used Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for 4 years with no side effects or problems whatsoever. I loved this pill. In my 5th year, however, I had mono (my doctors think it was never actually diagnosed), which made my liver function decrease, and after months of nausea, fatigue, abdominal pain, CT scans, endoscopies, etc., I found that stopping the pill made the symptoms go away. My doctor's diagnosis is that for some reason, when I had mono, it affected my body enough that I couldn't tolerate oral contraception anymore. I'm really upset as I loved this pill and haven't had any luck with other contraceptive methods."

For Ovarian Cysts "I have really bad periods (pain almost all month long directly in ovaries, back aches, and heavy bleeding during period, diarrhea before period, panic attacks, anxiety). I started taking the pill 3 weeks ago to see if it would help with my symptoms. I immediately noticed the nausea. It lasted all day at first and then moved to just in the evenings. When the nausea went away, I noticed my breasts being achy and my nipples felt very tingly, which was super weird. My sex drive has definitely increased since I started taking it. The positives I've experienced so far are that my panic attacks have really calmed down, my breasts have grown, I feel more mentally present, and my appetite has decreased."

For Birth Control "This pill does the job. I had been on it for 3 years, very sexually active and had never been pregnant. When I got married though (2 yrs ago), having a man there to notice every mood you are in and when things bother you made me realize what a complete mess I was when I was taking the pill. I would get ovarian cysts (in and out of the ER for them). I passed out a lot from nausea and dizziness. Headaches were chronic and I was super moody. My periods were pretty regular, but they were heavy and long. I broke out a lot and was super bloated when on it. ALL birth control pill side effects vary from person to person and their body types. So don't go off this alone, but at least give your body 3-4 months to adapt to the birth control pill and document daily how you are feeling."

For Birth Control "I had been on the pill for about 1 year. The first 3 months were pretty bad, experienced nausea and stomach pains. In the following months, my acne cleared, my period pains were less, and periods were shorter. I feel I retain water, and it shows I gained 10 lbs. I was more moody and worried about things that made me feel crazy. I just recently decided to stop using the pill. I want to get back to my normal self."

For Birth Control "This is the only birth control pill I've ever been on that has really worked for me. No side effects at all (besides mild nausea and headache for the first few days). My mood was so even. The big problem is that my insurance will not pay for it, so I am taking Tri-Sprintec, which has a slightly higher dose of estrogen."

For Birth Control "I had never been on birth control before, so I was super nervous when I got married to start taking it. I read all the reviews, the horror stories, and success stories, and it seems to me everyone's body takes the pill differently. I have been on the pill for a year now. The first month was aggravating, I was very nauseous and had a lot of extra bleeding, but now my body is used to it and I feel no side effects. I take it at night before bed on a full stomach. My periods are regular (granted I have always had a regular period). My acne and weight have stayed the same. The only thing I feel is different is during that time of month I am even more moody. No pregnancy or pregnancy scares even with missing a few pills."

For Birth Control "I'm 16, and I took Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo because I suffer from hormonal severe acne. I've had horrible acne since 7th grade. On the issue of acne, while I was on the pill, after 3 months, my skin was clear. In the last remaining week, I got sick every day. Then I was finished with my pill because it cured my acne. Suddenly, a couple of months later, my acne returned again. I just started taking my pill again. I am feeling the nausea and headaches. I take the pill at night, so I don't feel it when I go to bed. Unfortunately, the following morning, I feel intense nausea. If you are looking to treat acne, this is the pill. Just the side effects can be a pain."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for about five weeks now. I had some back pain the first week. When my period came, it was very heavy and lasted longer. Now, in week five, I am having terrible low back pains, slight nausea, and I'm a bit emotional at night... not sure if I should wait for the hormones to balance out in the next couple of months or talk to the doctor about other options?"

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for a month with minimal problems. I was on another one before but had to switch due to how emotional it made me. Tri-Cyclen Lo balanced my mood out pretty well. I had no spotting, but when I got my period, cramps were a little harsh. My boobs grew a little bit bigger and became sensitive. I was a little nauseous the first few days of the birth control, but that settled itself. My acne cleared up pretty well! Overall, a good, trusty birth control."

For Birth Control "I can say that the only positive effect about this pill is that it prevented pregnancy. As long as I ate right before or after taking the pill, I would not get nauseated. My periods never became lighter, and I still had cramps. I did not develop acne or notice any weight gain, however. The reason why I stopped taking this pill was because I had overwhelming mood swings and depression. I also noticed a decrease in my sex drive."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Been taking Ortho for 1.5 months, and the first pack made me have a 3-week period with every PMS symptom in existence. My weight has not moved in any way, but I still have been getting slightly nauseated in the morning, my breasts hurt, and I feel like I can't get enough water to drink. It makes my mouth dry! I have one more pack of these, and after that, I am going to decide if I can take these or not."

For Birth Control "I switched from Alesse to Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, and so far, loving this pill! I noticed a significant boost in my mood, generally happier throughout the day, as well as my cup size increased. My acne cleared up almost completely, and no weight gain. The only bad thing I noticed was slight nausea the first few days after switching brands, but it was manageable and went away after a week. I would definitely recommend this pill!"

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for exactly 1 year more for PMS. I have no previous birth control pill experience. I have found it to be easy to transition onto, with very few negative side effects. The first month, I felt only mildly nauseated. I took this pill to help me with some of my more intense PMS symptoms. It took about 2-3 months before I saw shorter, lighter periods, less cramping, and fewer acne breakouts. After around 10 months, it seemed that my old PMS symptoms were returning, with menstrual breakouts, cramps, irritability, etc. This pill works, and overall there were no major issues, but I found that the positive side effects started to go away after a while. So I'm switching to the higher estrogen dose for that reason only."

For Birth Control "I was previously on Alese and transferred to this pill to control my acne. I have found many side effects to this pill, such as weight gain, breast enlargement, and severe nausea. The nausea is my main problem, as I hate feeling like that and throwing up in general, so I am skeptical to keep on this pill."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for about three weeks now, going into my second cycle. I so far have not experienced any side effects that I know of. The first week, I had a few intense headaches, but there was also a major weather fluctuation where I live, so I can't say for sure what was the cause. Otherwise, no migraines, spotting, nausea, or muscle pain. I have actually been losing weight since I started the pill, but I would like to think it's my healthy lifestyle doing the work. Contraceptive-wise, still not pregnant, so that's fine. For long-term benefits and risks, i.e.: acne, hair loss, I cannot say much. My skin is more or less the same. I have moderate to slight acne, so it may not even be hormonal. So far, so good."

For Birth Control "The pill helps regulate my period and I know when to always expect it. I do not get any mood swings or nausea. I started going on the pill because my period was irregular. I would get my period twice in one month with excruciating pain. Once I began the pill, the pain stopped and my period is normal."
