Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "This stuff is the worst. I was put on it to prevent ovarian cysts. But my hair is falling out, my acne is horrible, I have anxiety, insomnia, mood swings, crying spells, and dark thoughts. I’d rather just have cyst ruptures, honestly, and they’re so painful. :( Be careful what you put in your body, ladies. I’d advise you to avoid this BC at all costs."

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "After a long time of being off birth control, I decided it was time to go back on in an effort to help my endometriosis, which had become 20 times worse since having my baby. I was drawn to Lo Lo due to it being an ultra-low dose pill with the lowest estrogen on the market. I only made it a month before I had to stop. It made me exhausted all day long, even when I switched to taking it at night to try and counteract that. It gave me weird leg cramps, but worse than that, it also gave me horrible anxiety and panic attacks. I went from never struggling with panic attacks to calling an ambulance on myself in the grocery store because I literally couldn’t breathe. It was embarrassing and awful. I had to stop that day. As soon as I did, no more panic attacks. Everyone is different, and everyone will react differently to this pill. It just didn’t work for me. Currently trialing another pill with a different progestin in it."

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "I started on this Junel 1/20 birth control about 6 months ago and thought that it was great. I initially felt pretty good, no depression, it cleared up my skin, and I didn’t gain any insane amount of weight. I’ve gained maybe 5 pounds at worst. The first 2 months, my periods were lighter and starting to get more regular. The next month, I didn’t get my period. The following month, I got it. Then last month, I just got a brown spotting discharge. We use condoms and are very safe to pull out, but the not-so-regular periods make my anxiety skyrocket. Which brought me to realize just how much this medication has increased my anxiety. I get anxious, and my heart rate goes up about silly things like driving, eating, sleeping, and being home alone. Also, Junel 1/20 has recently made my boobs grow a little bit. Overall, it works pretty good for me. The only thing I worry about is my irregular periods and the anxiety I get. I hope in the future my periods get regular, or I might switch to a different pill."

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "So I shared how much I loved Taytulla after a month of being on it, and I’m now here to update you on month 6 of my experience! First off, this BCP was the first I had ever been on, so I was definitely nervous at the start. It never gave me weird hormones, depression, or anxiety, like other people have said. I did not gain weight, my acne has cleared up, and I'm overall loving how I feel (plus I’m not pregnant!). Definitely give Taytulla a try...I was very hesitant, but I really love it."

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "At first, it wasn’t too bad, but by the second month, I could immediately notice the side effects. I suffered a lot with anxiety and depression when I was going through puberty and had long since outgrown it, but by the second month on this pill, I literally felt like I was back in middle school. I’m a nervous wreck and sad at the same time all the time, and it only gets worse the closer I get to my periods. What doesn’t help is that my periods are still fairly painful and last me almost the entire placebo week. I decided today that I’m not taking this pill anymore and am scheduling an appointment with my doctor to talk about starting a new one. Unless you are using it strictly as birth control, I wouldn’t recommend this pill, even women with the strongest mental health seem to struggle emotionally while on this pill, and it just isn’t worth it in my opinion."

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "Please do not take this birth control. I have always maintained a healthy weight. In less than a year on this pill, I gained over 20 pounds. My mood swings are awful, and I get a lot of anxiety. My self-esteem and confidence have been so low that I never want to leave the house. I also had a lot of swelling and pain in my ankle and leg, which was most likely a blood clot. I feel like I have experienced every single negative side effect. Please avoid this pill, it has changed me so much."

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "My experience with this pill was horrible. The first month was fine besides some nausea and minor weight gain (mostly in breasts). By the second pack, I was an emotional wreck. All my underlying depression and PTSD came back tenfold. I cry all the time, and I never used to cry. My anxiety is horrible-and it had been under control before I started this pill. I started taking it because I have PCOS and hadn’t had a period in 10 months. I will say it did regulate my cycle, and I haven’t had any skin issues, cramps, or migraines... but wow, nothing would make this pill worth it."

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "At 40 years old, my period was heavy, and my iron was crashing. I had never taken birth control before because I already struggle with weight. After months of dealing with a heavy period, I decided it was time. I explained my weight gain and acne fears (yes, I break out easily) to her, and she told me that Lo Loestrin Fe would be the best for me. I’m on month four, and my skin is horrible. I’ve had to have laser treatments just to calm the inflammation down, and I started having debilitating anxiety. This stuff is poison. I am angry at the gynecologist for even prescribing it!"

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "I started using this Junel 1/20 a couple of months after having my first baby. At first, it made me pretty nauseous the first couple of months. I’ve been on it about 5 months now, and my periods are regular and shorter and lighter. I rarely get cramps anymore either. For a while there, I would have some anxiousness randomly. Not sure if it was the pill or just from being a new mama. It seems to have calmed down now. My skin has also been very clear as well. Hoping this works out for me."

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "So I understand that everyone has different experiences with birth control, but I had some pros and cons. First off, I started my Blisovi Fe 1/20 pill in October, so this would make it my third month on it, and they say it takes three months for birth control to start working. Here are my pros: it kept my period on track. I knew when I was going to get it. Before I started, I would have heavy and long periods, with Blisovi, it kept it light and short. As well as my cramps, they weren’t super painful as before. Cons: I’ve had anxiety for about two years, and this pill has really taken a toll on my mental health. I’ve had crazy panic attacks. My anxiety was super high. I felt like I was going into this stage where I wasn’t able to control my emotions at some point. I felt super depressed because of the way I was feeling, I wouldn’t get out of bed and was sad because this wasn’t who I was. I think if you have any emotional issues, this won’t be the pill for you."

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "I was on this Blisovi Fe 1.5/30 birth control for 3 months before I had to change. I did not feel like myself, and I felt like I was living outside of my body. I started having panic attacks multiple times a week, and it almost cost my relationship with my amazing boyfriend. I became very depressed and anxious that the smallest things made me freak out. I couldn't think ahead about my life or even the week without having a panic attack. I do not recommend this birth control."

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "I've been on Loestrin 24 FE for 5 months. I had a few bothersome side effects and a few side effects that weren't so bothersome. In the second month, I developed this weird anxiety and had this constant sense of nervousness. I would also have very brief moments of dizziness. For example, if I turned my head too fast, I'd feel a flash of dizziness. For nearly 4 months, my breasts were sore, but I could deal with that. I spotted for the first month, but I could deal with that, too. I never had any nausea, weight gain, acne, hair loss, or skin discoloration. Now that I've gotten over the side effects, I'm pretty pleased and wouldn't want to switch."

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "I started taking Aurovela after not taking any birth control for a few years. I read these reviews before starting because I am a naturally anxious person about medication side effects, etc., and now I'm on the 2nd week of my fourth pack. It seems like if you transition to it from another pill it can be rough, but starting it fresh (not transitioning) isn't too bad. I had some nausea and was in a very anxious, bad mood for the first couple of weeks, then it evened out. I take it at night right before bed. My symptoms have mostly been PMS at weird times of the month (tender boobs, cravings, irritable) and breakthrough bleeding, but my goal was to alleviate bad cramps, and it has done that. My periods have been so light I have thought maybe I was pregnant, but I saw from other reviews that others have a similar experience. I also have tachycardia, as another reviewer mentioned, and that has gotten more frequent. No weight change or breaking out here in month 4. Hope this helps others!"

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "This was not a good option for me. I began taking Blisovi about 4 years ago because of my heavy periods. It stopped the heavy bleeding, but the side effects were horrible. For me, it took 3 years for me to really notice the side effects, and they seemed to get worse as time passed. I would get headaches about 2 days before and also 2 days after my cycle, along with severe anxiety, and just sad for no reason at all. I had no desire to have sex, and I would get really irritable. After going through about 4 to 5 days of this, the symptoms would just go away, and then would repeat the same cycle of side effects the following month. I spoke with my doctor about this, and he’s taken me off. This was my experience, everyone is different, and for some, this could be your resolution, for me, it just didn’t do it."

For Postmenopausal Symptoms "I was very sick after I went through menopause. I became very sick for 3 years. I kept seeing all different doctors, but none of them could help me. I got tiredness, shortness of breath, anxiety, dizziness, fainting, vomiting. After I tried a smaller dose first, up to nearly 2 months, it worked. My driving became confident again, and I got my energy back too. My doctor increased the dose from 1 mg to 2 mg. He thought I should take this medicine rather than those anxiety medicines, as many specialists recommended, and should take it for at least 30 years so it can support my bones too. After 6 weeks in total, my confidence went up to 40%. Now I am still keeping taking it. I am very happy with it, even though my weight gain a bit, but at least my anxieties are lesser. My sleeping is getting better too. So I thought maybe I can help those people who went through menopause like me but never knew that this hormone replacement medicine can help menopause and premenopause and anxiety too. Give it a go."

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "I'm on my 7th month of this pill, and it has been great. The first month was a little rocky, I broke out a lot and had really bad anxiety and depression, but it went away after the first month! Everything has been good from there. My periods are SUPER light and last 3-4 days. They used to be heavy and last up to 7 days. I also rarely get cramps anymore, and when I do, they are bearable. It hasn’t affected my sex life, and I’ve always been anxious/depressed, but this pill hasn’t made it worse. Also, not pregnant! So it works."

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "Do not take this pill. This medication has made my life a living nightmare. I have depression and anxiety, but this pill took it to a whole other level. Panic attacks, nonstop crying, intrusive thoughts, just overall a terrible time. Please use any other form of birth control."

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "After being on four different types of birth control pills in 3 1/2 years and having HORRIBLE side effects ranging from acne, hair falling out, spotting for months, to anxiety, to stroke-like symptoms and going to the ER, my OBGYN suggested Generess Fe. I LOVE this pill! No side effects at all, other than my breasts have gone from a 34C to a very full 34D! No weight gain (other than in my chest), nausea, headaches, no 'foggy' feeling at all. These pills are easy to take, pleasant tasting, and the light, 2-3 day periods are an awesome bonus! I am so happy to have found a birth control pill that works for me and doesn't have nasty side effects. I highly recommend this form of birth control!"

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "This birth control is the worst thing that's ever happened to me. I started taking it as soon as I started my sophomore year of college, and I have never been more anxious and depressed in my life. I have panic attacks, nausea, weight loss, heart palpitations, “brain fog,” my vision has been blurry, and I get dizzy a lot, the list could honestly go on. These symptoms started within the first week of taking this pill, and I also missed my last period, and I'm not pregnant. Avoid this birth control at ALL costs!!!!!"

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "I started this medication 3 months ago. My doc switched me from a BCP I’ve been on for years with absolutely no issues. I was trying to be an easy patient, so I went along with the switch. I’ve had unbearable cramps since the first pill I took, to the point where they’re debilitating. I’ve also had insane mood swings and constant anxiety. I’ve had issues like this years ago, but the first 2 weeks on the meds, I was an absolute nightmare to everyone around me, and I still don’t like how I am. I’ve had to reach out to my other doc for anxiety medications because this drug has set me so far back. I’m switching back to my old BCP ASAP!"

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "This is far superior to my last pill. I do still suffer from depression and anxiety, but it has not totally mutilated my sex drive like my previous pill did. It is effective, and the side effects are tolerable. I've been on this pill for about a year and have been skipping the inactive pills so that I do not have a period, and it has worked! As far as pills go, I highly recommend Tarina. To whoever is reading this: know that all comments, including mine, are personal reactions to this pill (really this applies to all meds). Don't be scared off from getting the help you need, because everyone's bodies and habits are different, thus rendering different results."

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "I am 46 and started having my period every other week with excessive bleeding. My OB wanted to regulate. My breasts were very sore, I started having migraines (ocular). I started getting more anxious, and it seemed to peak as I was ending my first pack (PMS time). The first day of my sugar pill/period time, I had the worst panic attack ever-I really thought I was going crazy. Worst feeling in my life-I stopped taking it and just a few days out, starting to feel better. I came on here to see reviews and just wanted to say how grateful I am that you ladies share your experience-the nurse on the phone literally said anxiety/panic attacks are NOT a side effect. I really thought I was losing my mind. Love and hugs to you all!"

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "Ever since I started taking Junel Fe, I’ve been having mood swings, and I would get really irritated easily and emotional at times. It's only been a month, and I am going to stop taking it. I know I should give it more time to work, but I cannot deal with the dark thoughts. I’m anxious more and feel depressed. My mental health is more important than this."

Ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone for Birth Control "This is probably the pill I'll never take. The first six months were great. I lost weight, had 100% regular periods with no in-between bleeding. Now I've had a good 4 months of non-stop anxiety, paranoia, and depression that wasn't there before. I have also developed bleeding the week before my period is supposed to show up. Definitely switching pills ASAP."
