For Birth Control "My doctor recommended I take Lo Loestrin Fe since I suffer from migraines and needed a low-dose birth control. I have been taking Lo Loestrin for about 7 months now, and I have no period whatsoever. I have been a bit concerned because my sex drive is also low. Other than that, I like Lo Loestrin because I get no more migraines. Hopefully, I get a period soon just to have peace of mind. One thing, it runs expensive, it started off at $6 with my insurance, and now it's $35."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this pill for 5 months now and LOVE it! Periods are two days, if that, no acne, no weight gain (actually lost 15 pounds in the first 2 months), no libido changes. I had severe migraines when prescribed this medication of up to 3 a week. Since I've started taking it, I've had one a month."

For Birth Control "Before starting Lo Loestrin, I read a lot of horrible reviews about it and was a bit nervous to try it. However, after being on it for a few months, I can happily say that there have been more pros than cons. I have endometriosis, and being on this pill has helped with my pain significantly. I have very minimal cramping before my period compared to before and don't experience any of the other painful symptoms as often. I will warn you, though, this birth control did make me very emotional, and I experienced a reduced sex drive. These aren't dealbreakers for me, but may be for someone else."

For Birth Control "Was on this for 6 months, glad it worked for others but wasn't that great for me. Kept me from being pregnant and also had no period, which was great! But, also had all the side effects - always being tired, weight gain, no sex drive. But, every woman is different."

For Birth Control "I was on this pill for four months. A week after I started it, I noticed my hair was significantly thinner than normal. The hair loss kept getting worse over the next few months, which is terrifying, I can assure you. I quickly fell into a black hole of depression, which I had never had problems with before. I also had no libido and horrible dryness, to the point that it hurt to even touch my labia. I also gained weight in weird places and had the 'pregnant woman body.' I quit the pill two weeks ago, and it's like a black cloud has been lifted off me. I'm crying reading these reviews because it's such a relief to know I'm not crazy. If you're on this pill, just watch out for the side effects and know it's not you, it's the pill."

For Birth Control "Lo Loestrin Fe works really well for me. I went on this birth control because I had a very irregular period and terrible cramps. Sometimes I would skip months, and sometimes I'd get it twice in one month. I'd have to use a heating pad, and even that didn't help very much. It was a mess. I've been on Lo Loestrin Fe for almost two years now. No period to speak of and no cramps. I had a very light period for the first few months I started until it eventually disappeared completely. I have no bad symptoms. No acne or mood swings. My only complaint is that my sex drive is DEAD when I used to have quite the active libido, which is the only reason I'm thinking of switching birth controls."

For Birth Control "I've been on it for almost a month now and LOVE IT. Prior, I was on the NuvaRing because I've always been scared about forgetting to take a pill on a daily basis. But with NuvaRing, intercourse was painful, and libido dropped significantly. So far, LOVE Lo Loestrin. I feel happier, want to engage in sex more, and best of all, my small 32A breasts are growing! For Birth Control "Initially, I read many of these reviews and became horrified at some of the side effects people were listing. Seemed totally not worth it. Don't be turned off or scared by these select few! I would recommend this to anyone. Being on this BC has not affected or altered my body in any way whatsoever. No personality/mood swings of any kind, no weight gain/bodily changes, no acne, no migraines or back pain, no loss in sex drive, etc. If anything, there's been an increase in my sex drive, and I’ve noticed small bumps I may have had on my face clearing easily. My pre-period symptoms before and during my long and heavy periods were awful. Days off school and work since I was 11, nausea, fever, severe cramping, night sweats, headaches, back pain, etc. All this is now completely gone! Light and short period right at the end of the pack, I didn’t even notice it. It’s a dream come true. No pregnancy despite regular unprotected sex and lighter periods. Hopefully, it continues to be just as wonderful. Give it a go, people."

For Birth Control "I've been on Lo Loestrin for about 5-6 months, and my periods are either light or non-existent, which is great! My cramps have even lessened, and I don't have to take anything for them anymore, which is fantastic! However, I've been bloated for 6 months, so much so that my clothes are tight, and it's embarrassing as I work out 4 times a week and am very healthy. My face breaks out all the time now with painful, cyst-like red dots that never form into a pimple, and my face has always been clear. My loved ones are complaining about my short fuse and major crankiness, which isn't like me at all. My sex drive is gone, and I'm in my early 30s, it like happened overnight. I'll be switching to something immediately, as I was hoping all this would go away."

For Birth Control "This pill is great. I have been on it for nearly 4 years without any major problems. I started this pill solely because my bleeding was so heavy, I couldn't maintain my everyday routine when I was on my period. Now, I do not get a period whatsoever, which is AMAZING. I have had no weight gain, no breakouts, and no mood swings. The only drawback: low sex drive."

For Birth Control "Well, this is the first birth control pill I've been put on in my life, and the first month was horrid. I had a crazy-long period and lost my sex drive and was an emotional wreck. It's been a second month now, and the spotting is gone, and my sex drive is back, and the period was very short, so I'm satisfied."

For Birth Control "I've been on Lo Loestrin Fe for 9 months now and love it. I was diagnosed with PMDD 10 years ago and tried Yaz and Yasmin unsuccessfully before finding Lo Loestrin Fe. This has been the only pill that works for me. I actually lost weight after my body adjusted to the hormones. I was on this pill for several years and then took a break for 12 months as I take it continuously. I won't EVER do that again—it took about 8-10 months for my body to adjust and then the PMDD came back with a vengeance. Mood swings, insane food behavior, migraine, weight gain, no sex drive—it was horrible. I got back on Lo Loestrin Fe last April and by August my body adjusted. Has been great ever since. Only downside is my insurance doesn't cover it, so I pay out of pocket every month."

For Birth Control "I've been on the pill for about a year and 1 month now. This is my first birth control, and I got on it because my periods were horrible and extremely heavy and also because I entered a serious relationship. I was fine up until the half-year mark until I had spotting for 12 days before getting my real period 4 days late. Now I still have breakthrough bleeding right after ovulation, which always causes me to freak out. Other than that, the pill is fine. I actually lost weight on this pill, and I can't gain weight anything past 108. My sex drive is sometimes affected, it takes a while for me to get into the mood, and my boyfriend is supportive of it. It's just the darn spotting that irritates me."

For Birth Control "I went on Loestrin a little over two years ago, and I absolutely love it. I take it continuously and skip periods (best decision of my life, and no, you don't have to have periods). Sometimes I forget to take pills for up to 4 or 5 days in a row, and it's like nothing ever happened. No weight gain, didn't positively or negatively affect my acne, only complaint is I'm super dry and have a very low libido. Sex is almost painful. Other than that (pretty big) issue, it's great for me."

For Birth Control "I hate this pill, and I wish I never would have tried it. I had a cyst on one of my ovaries that ruptured, and it caused me to have a period for a month or two straight, so my doctor put me on this pill. I have gained weight, my chin is constantly broken out, I had absolutely no sex drive, and worst of all, my emotions are crazy. It's taken a toll on my relationship. I cry about the dumbest things. I was never like this before I took those pills. I quit taking it before I finished the first month because I got to the point where I hated myself and everyone around me. I haven't taken it in months, and I still have days where I feel miserable, and my sex drive has not gotten better yet at all. I do not recommend this pill at all. It has ruined me."

For Birth Control "The only good thing that came from being on this pill was that it prevented pregnancy. Unfortunately, the side effects forced me off it. In the beginning, there was cystic acne (face, chest, back), mild weight gain/bloating, and mild mood swings. I gave it some time, my body just needed to adjust. After four months, the acne cleared up, but the mood swings worsened and depression kicked in. It only got worse from there. Just before stopping this pill at nine months, I felt like a completely different person-crying over every little thing, everything irritated me, little sex drive, constantly depressed. These side effects were having a huge negative impact on my life, totally not worth it to me."

For Birth Control "I was on Lo Loestrin Fe for 14 months. I was on the NuvaRing for 10 years prior to that. My mental health was good on these pills, however, my libido really tanked to the point I had no interest at all. I also became a bit more irritable, and the main issue was the cystic acne! This pill made me break out like hell, and it got awful by the 6-7 month mark once I stopped seeing an esthetician regularly. It was pustular, with smaller cysts/papules and excessive dry patches of eczema. Then the excessive sweating started with crazy hot flashes. My scalp was also having dry patches and hair loss with lots of itching. I also stopped getting my period completely 3 months into the pill. So I didn’t have a period for almost a year. This pill is probably great if you want little to no periods and don’t have skin issues. I want my skin back to normal, so I’m trying Beyaz. I think the hormone combo just wasn’t for me, and this progestin type is known to cause acne."

For Birth Control "I would and have recommended this BC pill. I was on Depo, and it made me sick and fat, no sex drive, and vaginal dryness, but now I'm on Lo Lo, and I love it. No weight gain, no headaches, no back pain and joint pain, very short light periods, and I have a pretty good sex drive now. Go Lo Lo!"

For Birth Control "I've been taking Lo Loestrin Fe since March of 2015. It's now November of 2015, and I feel pretty good about it overall. I take it at the same exact time every day without fail. After the first two months, my period completely stopped. During the first three months, I had almost no sex drive. It wasn't until my body got used to the medication that my moods started to stabilize and my sex drive went back to normal. I get more emotional and irrational around the end of each pack, but that's the only lasting effect this birth control seems to have on me. I would recommend Lo Loestrin Fe."

For Birth Control "I started taking Lo Loestrin Fe in September and have been on it for 5 months now. Since I have started taking Lo Loestrin Fe, I have gained 18 pounds and cannot for the life of me seem to lose any weight (I work out 5 days a week and maintain a raw vegan diet). I have been the most emotional I have ever been, I cry all the time and get very anxious. I have absolutely no sex drive (when I went off birth control from January to August last year, it was much higher). I also get violently ill every time I drink alcohol (even just a glass of wine). I first thought this was because I might be allergic to alcohol, but when I went off birth control, I would never get ill, and my hangovers were non-existent. Everyone varies on it, but my experience has not been so pleasant."

For Birth Control "I was on this pill for 2 years. It gave me mood swings in the beginning, followed by spotting, irregular periods, vaginal dryness, and a very decreased libido. I noticed about 1.5 years into taking this pill that my clitoris became way less sensitive to stimulation and that it actually physically shrunk (clitoral atrophy)."

For Birth Control "This is the only birth control I've been on, and I'm sticking to it because it works really great for me! The first three months or so, I had no sex drive - but it passed, so it wasn't a permanent side effect. It's been at least seven months now, and I get hardly any cramps, whereas before I used to get them so bad that I'd fall on the floor in pain. Hardly any period (lasts about three days, and I can use liners for two days, regular sized pad for one day), whereas before I had a really awful, heavy seven-eight day period. I also have really clear skin now too. I'll get maybe two tiny pimples in total, nearing my period, and that's it. It's fantastic. And of course, it's also done its job as a birth control pill."

For Birth Control "I started this pill in April and started off with some side effects. I was getting a lot more irritable just randomly, breakthrough bleeding throughout the month, and my sex drive decreased a lot. The side effects were worse during the first month I was on it, but they gradually started getting better. It made my period even more irregular, though, and my mood started to decline a lot, so I brought it up with my doctor, and they said it would probably be best to change it. I didn’t have a horrible experience on this pill, but it just wasn’t the right fit for me. If you’re about to start this pill and see all the scary reviews, don’t fear because your body may react differently!!"
