For Birth Control "Loestrin Fe did a lot better than the 'Lo Loestrin Fe.' I only got this prescription because my insurance covers it, and it's similar to what I was taking before-just less hormones. (They apparently discontinued the birth control I used to take.) Since I've been on this one, I've been a little moodier, more acne, breast tenderness, and cramping without periods. I've lost weight and my cup/bra size actually got smaller. Honestly, it's starting to freak me out a bit because I haven't been this tender with a birth control, only while pregnant with my two children. I take it as it's prescribed-same time, every day, never skipping a dose. Hitting my 3rd month on it, no periods or spotting at all."

For Birth Control "I am in my last week of the 2nd pack. First, my period this month was only 3 days, which was awesome. I've never had a 3-day period before, EVER! However, the next week I had breakthrough bleeding for 11 straight days. The cramping was bad, and I had acne like crazy. I was supposed to have gotten my period yesterday, and it hasn't come yet, and I am never late. I know I'm not pregnant because I couldn't have any sex since I was bleeding nearly the whole month. I know I have to wait another month for everything to get normal. So let's just hope and pray for better results in the 3rd pack. Will update soon."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for 2 years. Prior to this pill, I had the Implanon in my arm that worked well, but I was unsatisfied with occasional irregular bleeding. Most doctors, like mine, will tell you that there is nothing 'unhealthy' about not having periods (Google it), and that's what I wanted without getting my tubes tied. I skipped the inactive pills and have been doing so since beginning to take it. Two years later, I couldn't be happier. I experienced no weight gain, no breakouts, no mood swings, no cramps, but I never had bad cramps anyway. The only way I can even tell I'm taking it is because I haven't had a period, which has been awesome. Don't let negative reviews scare you away. It depends on the person!!"

For Birth Control "I love Loestrin. I was on it for 2 years in my 20s with great success—very regular, minimal bleeding (sometimes barely a period), few side effects. The reason I went off of it was that I decided to get a Paragard IUD. After five years with the horrible pain and cramping of the Paragard, I got it taken out. Then my doctor had me try two other birth control pills that I never adjusted to. I went back on Loestrin two years ago, and it’s still great."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Lo Loestrin Fe for 3 months now. I started this pill after having the Mirena for 5 years and having little to no period a month. For the first month on this pill, I had a normal period, but the 2nd and 3rd month I have been having extremely heavy bleeding and blood clots. So far my periods are coming about every 5 days. On for 7 days, off for 5 days. I feel terrible. I feel tired, having diarrhea and headaches. My cramps are in my back and constant. And I am not sure if the pill is to blame, but I have been getting anxious and nervous a lot for no reason lately. I made up my mind to stop taking the pill and make a doctor's appointment. Hope this helps others."

For Birth Control "I loved this pill at first, it got rid of my terrible cramps. A few months after, however, I had two periods each month. Now I have a period every other week. The birth control pill is a hit-or-miss type of business."

For Birth Control "I love this birth control! For years I have suffered from horrible bleeding, menstrual cramps that kept me in bed for a day or two, and sometimes vomiting. I have been on Lo Loestrin for 4 months. I get no period and no cramps. I wish I would have tried it sooner. I did spot for two months, but just a tiny bit. The downfall is it's very expensive. Luckily, my doctor gave me a year of samples. I am over 40 and actually do nothing getting my period for the first time ever."

For Birth Control "I switched to Loestrin to alleviate migraines from my last set of pills, and it worked all right. They aren't as severe but still persist. Otherwise, I have 2-day periods with no cramping, perfect skin, and no mood swings! I recommend it if you have any issues with acne, cramping, or irregularity."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this BC for a few years now. Other pills made me really sick, so I was excited to find a pill that worked. My boobs got ginormous (one more than the other, haha), but that goes away after a while. When I started, I would always get my period in the middle of the pack... I tried stopping the pills and restarting to get the period at the right time, but nope, it stayed in the middle. I do have to say it was really, really light and maybe two days max. No cramping whatsoever. I was such a happy camper because without BC, I'd feel like I was gonna pass out from the pain. So after a year or so, my periods completely stopped. That was alarming at first, and I kept taking tests to make sure I wasn't pregnant. I don't worry anymore."

For Birth Control "I've been on this same pill for about 5 years now, and I would recommend it to every girl I knew if I could. At first, I thought it was a little strange that I didn't get my period, but I talked to my doctor, and she assured me that not getting a period was normal as long as I took my pills correctly. Not having a period is fantastic and one less thing to worry about every month, in my opinion. Every once in a while, I'll experience some light cramps right before I finish a pack (around the time I should have my period), but other than that, I love this pill! I also have not experienced any weight gain or headaches! :-)"

For Birth Control "This is my 4th month on Lo Loestrin Fe. I have to say, the first 2-3 months I wasn't a huge fan. I spotted for the first week or two, I was breaking out a little more than normal (usually I get 1-2 pimples on my chin right before my period), but this made me break out about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks into my pack :( and would only 'clear' up for about a week before it started again. I had slight cramping, felt a little crazy, and periods lasting about 3-4 days seeming no different than normal. I almost lost hope! BUT!!! I stuck it out like most doctors recommend. Month 4 = no period, no mood swings, clear face all month until my sugar pills (slight breakout only), no weight gain (though I do work out every day). Give it a shot!!"

For Birth Control "My doctor recommended that I start taking this pill two months ago to help with perimenopause. In the first six weeks, I have had three periods that lasted one week each, and the last one was so heavy that I bled through my clothes. I have had terrible lower abdominal cramps every day and have had to take pain medication to stop it. I cannot eat anything because the cramps hurt so severely, yet I have gained 10 lbs without eating. My breasts are suddenly growing, and my bras are all too small despite having been the same size for the last 18 years. My sex drive completely went away. I called my doctor, and the nurse said to give it more time (6 months) to adjust, but I don’t know if I can handle it. My moods have also been more intense and difficult to control. I don’t know whether this will go away or get worse. I don’t know what to do."

For Birth Control "This is my first birth control. Before I started taking Lo Lo, I had heavy periods and really bad cramps, so bad I had to leave school sometimes. Lo Lo has changed that for the better, though! I no longer have cramps, and I either don't have my period or it lasts for only one day. This pill is like a little miracle! Love it! The only problem I have had with it was when I got off an antibiotic, I had small cramps for the first month back on."

For Birth Control "Reading these comments is actually the most scary thing I think anyone trying a new birth control could do. I have been on Lo Loestrin Fe for 5 years now, and honestly, I have very little remembrance of what I was like before the pill, so I could be biased, but I feel that I have had a pretty good experience. I rarely have my period, and when I do, it is super light (maybe 3-4 days). I never broke out. I didn’t gain weight. I would say I am super emotional, but I also never thought to blame it on the birth control. After 5 years of feeling certain ways, I also know how to control my emotions and blame them on hormones. I am now switching to a new birth control for one of the reasons being just in the past 6 months I have experienced cramps getting worse and a bit of breakthrough bleeding, and honestly, I just want to try something new! Each birth control is different for everyone, and I know it takes time to adjust, so I would definitely say give it a try!"

For Birth Control "I have been taking Lo Loestrin Fe for over a year now, it's the best birth control I've ever taken. I used to have heavy cycles, the worst cramps, and would have to take off work because of being nauseous and sick once a month. I would wear ultra tampons with the biggest pads you could find! My iron was low because of how much blood I would lose a month. Since my doctor prescribed this pill, I have maintained my weight, I no longer take iron tablets, and my periods are very light. It still comes on, but sometimes it skips a month, and the next month it may stay on for two weeks. As long as you maintain a healthy diet, it works out fine! Give this a try and see if it works for you!!"

For Birth Control "At my last visit, my doctor recommended trying Lo Loestrin and explained it as the 'evolutionary' step up from Loestrin 24. I was nervous, but my results have been amazing. I had maybe 2 days of spotting the first month, but now I have a 1-day light period, hardly any cramps, and no mood swings. I've been on it for 4 months now, and I am SO HAPPY I gave Lo Loestrin a chance."

For Birth Control "The first day of using the pill, I got very dizzy, threw it up, and the experience was horrible. The first month of using this pill, I was craving pizza and chocolate. My first period lasted 3-4 days, and I did experience some cramping on the first day. In the first month and a half, my breasts were really swollen. The second month on the pill, my period came on the exact date as last month, which I was happy about because my period was so irregular. I was not craving anything, and I did not and still have not gained weight. The pill hasn't really given me any side effects other than that. I really like this pill a lot."

For Birth Control "I'm getting ready to finish up my second pack at the end of this week. I have to say after the first month, I really debated quitting taking it. I had horrible side effects. Constant headaches, muscle aches and spasms, and my period was horrific. Then again, this was the first real period I've had in years. It came on my second week and lasted throughout the rest of my pack, and it was heavy. Like three boxes of super tampons heavy! I was breaking out, cramps were terrible, I was irritable and felt like I had no energy, but I found out I was also extremely deficient in vitamin D and I needed more potassium. Now that I'm taking my multivitamins, I've found that my side effects have really subsided. My period is light, and my sex drive has increased."

For Birth Control "I have PCOS, and my doctor decided to put me on this and try it out. I have very irregular periods and was hoping that birth control could help manage my PCOS. After about 3 months on this pill, I had gained a rapid amount of weight, and my periods were so bad that I would be crying in pain! I finally had had enough and changed to a different birth control, and I feel amazing!"

For Birth Control "Wow, I absolutely love this pill! I'm so sorry that so many other women had a problem with it. After reading the reviews, I felt compelled to write one of my own because I was hesitant to take it after reading all of the horror stories. I've been on birth control for years, several different pills. No complaints. However, I switched to this one after talking to my ob-gyn about my long periods. Well, I've been on Lo Loestrin for 3 months now, and I absolutely love it. Hardly any cramps, and my period has gone down to 2-3 days of mostly light spotting. Love this pill!"

For Birth Control "I love this pill. I didn't give it a 10 because nothing is perfect, but I was on Loestrin Fe 24, and I would get my period for like a day, and I kept track with my period planner. I would get cramps, and my breasts would get very tender, and my mood would change as well as my appetite. This medicine is expensive without insurance. Then my doctor recommended I switch to Lo Loestrin Fe. I was a bit skeptical because I didn't want to end up having more periods. Turns out that when I switched, I only had a period for 5 days straight in June 2013, and now we are in October, and I haven't had any cramps or a period, for that matter. I do have a lot of discharge, which is a side effect, no mood swings or anything like that."

For Birth Control "This was my first birth control, but I've got to say that it is probably the best birth control you can get since it has the lowest dosage of estrogen, which means you have the least side effects. Since it has such a low dosage, it's pretty dang pricey. The first month on this birth control is rough, and your first period will be a very bad period if you react to it like I did. I was bedridden from cramps, and I bled a lot, but honestly I was used to it since the reason I'm taking it is because of nasty periods. After the first period, it was amazing. My periods lasted 3-4 days, barely any bleeding, zero cramps, and I had no side effects! No weight gain, no acne, no mood swings, or nausea. It's wonderful. I highly recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "Lo Loestrin Fe works really well for me. I went on this birth control because I had a very irregular period and terrible cramps. Sometimes I would skip months, and sometimes I'd get it twice in one month. I'd have to use a heating pad, and even that didn't help very much. It was a mess. I've been on Lo Loestrin Fe for almost two years now. No period to speak of and no cramps. I had a very light period for the first few months I started until it eventually disappeared completely. I have no bad symptoms. No acne or mood swings. My only complaint is that my sex drive is DEAD when I used to have quite the active libido, which is the only reason I'm thinking of switching birth controls."

For Birth Control "I got on this pill to regulate my periods because I had mild PCOS. However, I will be switching pill brands since on this medication I have had cramps but no period, despite taking the pill regularly and at the same time. Apparently, this is common for this pill, but I prefer having a period. I also realized I gained around 10-15 pounds after getting on this pill, and getting the weight off is difficult. I grew fatter facially and in my stomach. I also noticed an increase of acne, not only on my face but also on my back, which has never been a problem before. I look forward to switching my pill in the next few days and hope for better results!"
