For Birth Control "My doctor decided to put me on Aurovela Fe 1/20 to help with awful menstrual cycles related to endometriosis. I’ve only been on it for 3 days, and I’m experiencing the worst anxiety, depression, nausea of my life. I honestly feel terrified because of this anxiety. I can only compare it to the depo injection I had about 18 years ago that made me incredibly anxious, but this feels 1,000 times worse. Please do NOT take this medication. Nothing is worth feeling like this. I pray I feel like myself again in a couple of days once the hormones are out of my system. If I could give this negative stars, I would. They really should take this off the market."

For Birth Control "I took only one month of Aurovela Fe 1/20 birth control pill. Within that one month, I had the worst depression and anxiety of my entire life. I couldn’t sleep or eat. I was nauseous almost 24 hours of the day. I even threw up after the first time I took it. I was given this pill when my pharmacy didn’t have my regular pill, and went back almost once a week to see if I could get the original pill I was on. On top of all that, I take the birth control to get rid of my acne, and it didn’t even help with that."

For Birth Control "I was on Junel for two years before my pharmacy switched to Aurovela. Never in my life have I been so depressed for no reason whatsoever. I’ve been experiencing rage issues, which is very unlike me-overly emotional-and then to complete apathy at the flip of a switch. I’m always nauseated and gaining weight despite working out 6 days a week. I’ve never had issues about being down on myself, but here I am absolutely disgusted with every aspect of my body and mind. I feel like I am losing my sanity and will not be starting the new pack."

For Birth Control "I started taking Aurovela Fe 1/20 a month ago (Sep 2021), and the reviews scared me at first, but so far my side effects have been small pimples on my cheek and forehead, nausea like once a week, and like 2 days where I randomly felt sad and started crying out of nowhere lol. That’s it. This is my first time ever taking birth control, and I mainly got it because of my really heavy periods and TERRIBLE cramps. I started my period 3 days ago, and so far it’s been lighter, and I got very, very light cramps the first 2 days to where they were manageable, and I didn’t need to take any pain relievers. But just keep in mind that everyone reacts differently to these types of things, especially if your doctor or pharmacy switched you from a high dose BC to a low dose BC (which would be Aurovela). As for the pimples, I use Curology, so that’s been helping me, and I drink some ginger ale whenever I get nauseous. I hope my review helped!"

For Birth Control "After many years on Lo Loestrin, I started to experience break-through bleeding, so my doctor switched me to Junel, and then my pharmacy switched me to Aurovela. This was several months ago, and they have been some of the worst months of my life. I've always had anxiety, but I've never experienced this level of anxiety and depression before. My mood has been all over the place, and I've generally just felt horrible (low energy, frequent nausea, etc.). A couple of days ago, I ended up in the ER with dangerously high blood pressure (I've never had problems with blood pressure and have always run low). The switch to Aurovela occurred right when the symptoms started, but I had experienced some major life changes around the same time, so it was only recently that I realized everything I've been experiencing is due to this medication. After seeing these reviews and doing some research, I am certain this pill is responsible for everything I've been going through, and I will be stopping this birth control immediately."

For Birth Control "I was on this for a month and a half. First month I was so nauseous and had horrible headaches. Also had been super anxious and emotional. Start of my second pill pack I got borderline cystic acne out of nowhere. I just switched back to my old birth control. I googled the reviews tonight and saw that 80% had negative effects, no wonder I feel and look like this. I can’t believe anyone thought to prescribe this to me, I’m actually livid. Four days before Christmas and I have over 25 pimples on my face. When I say last Friday my skin was clean, I’m not kidding. Livid."

For Birth Control "I started taking Aurovela after not taking any birth control for a few years. I read these reviews before starting because I am a naturally anxious person about medication side effects, etc., and now I'm on the 2nd week of my fourth pack. It seems like if you transition to it from another pill it can be rough, but starting it fresh (not transitioning) isn't too bad. I had some nausea and was in a very anxious, bad mood for the first couple of weeks, then it evened out. I take it at night right before bed. My symptoms have mostly been PMS at weird times of the month (tender boobs, cravings, irritable) and breakthrough bleeding, but my goal was to alleviate bad cramps, and it has done that. My periods have been so light I have thought maybe I was pregnant, but I saw from other reviews that others have a similar experience. I also have tachycardia, as another reviewer mentioned, and that has gotten more frequent. No weight change or breaking out here in month 4. Hope this helps others!"

For Birth Control "The week before Thanksgiving, I started Aurovela. I experienced 24-hour nausea, oversleeping (one day, slept 15 hours!). I could not keep my eyes open for anything. I was vomiting 2-3 times a day, usually only stomach acid or water because I couldn't keep food down. I had cold sweats, and my entire body was achy. Worst out of all of this was my anxiety and depression. I don't remember the last time my anxiety was as bad as it was. It was terrifying. I had initially thought I may have had food poisoning. During my second week, I was examining everything that could be contributing to my being sick, the only one thing was the birth control. My doctor stopped me immediately, told me to wait until my next menstrual cycle, and then she gave me a lower dose. I was very skeptical, and for good reason. I started it 3 days ago and am already experiencing the same symptoms. I will contact her and discontinue use. The increase in anxiety and depression was surely the worst part of it all. Be aware."

For Birth Control "My NP prescribed this to me after I came to her with complaints of severe PMS. However, this pill has done anything but prevent it. I’m currently in the middle of my second pack on the pill, and I’ve noticed severe changes. My depression before starting my period was bad prior to starting the pill, but the pill has heightened it. I feel so depressed now and also get much more emotional—both angry and sad (crying). The PMS feels like it lasts the entire month. My acne does not seem to be improving, either. My periods are somewhat shorter yet are irregular (it came unexpectedly 2 weeks earlier). Not to mention—I have bad physical PMS, such as headaches, nausea, and more, which I’ve never had before. In my personal opinion, this pill has done me no justice, and I will be switching as soon as I can. I want to feel like myself again."

For Birth Control "I was put on this after my insurance didn’t cover my Lo Loestrin Fe anymore. I’m on week three, and it’s the worst experience I have had with birth control yet. I have had horrible stomach issues, nausea, migraines, and even a really bad period. Wouldn’t advise for anyone to take this!!"

For Birth Control "I first started a different brand of birth control, but a change of insurance led me to switch pharmacies to Walgreens. They gave me Aurovela Fe 1/20, and shortly after, I was having a hard time believing life was worth living. Not an exaggeration. I couldn’t pinpoint why I felt this way other than saying I just felt “icky.” When I finally got over one anxiety, my mind was searching for another. Absolutely miserable. When I finally decided I had to try SOMETHING to feel better, I looked up the pill and found these reviews. Even just the simple validation of knowing it was the medication causing my downward spiral has made me feel light years better. My pharmacist says it may be a whole cycle until I return to my normal self, and I am beyond excited. This drug made me feel like I was going to feel awful until the day I died, then convinced me I was going to die SOON. I am upset at Walgreens for peddling this generic drug to so many women, despite the side effects."

For Birth Control "This is my first time using Aurovela or the pill as birth control. In the beginning, I experienced nausea and breast tenderness. Over time, the breast tenderness went away, but the nausea is constant. I didn’t think the pill was the reason, but I woke up out of my sleep one night crying about something I thought I was over. My anxiety is through the roof, and I’ve never had a problem with it before. I take my pill at 8 every night, so I didn’t feel as sick as the pill would make me. Now I’m on month 2, and I've had cramping, bloating, painful headaches, etc. All the reviews I’ve read I can relate to, the only good part is not being pregnant and having clear skin, but other than that, this pill kicks me in the butt! I’ve also had spotting weeks before my period."

For Birth Control "Awful. I was on Lo Loestrin Fe for my first month of birth control, and I didn’t have any issues besides occasional nausea. When I used Aurovela, within the first couple of days I had awful, pounding headaches every day for hours on end, awful mood swings, and on the last night I took it, I woke up at 3 in the morning with the worst nausea I have ever had and threw up for several minutes and passed out. I knew something was up when I saw such a low rating for this medicine. Maybe it’ll work for some people, but from what I've seen and my own experience, this pill is an awful experience."

For Birth Control "So I was on this pill for about a year, but they recently switched me. My experience with this pill was the first month taking it, I bled for a couple of months and had on-and-off nausea. But after that, I noticed that I was gaining weight. Not in my stomach, but more in all the right places, which my genetics play a part. My appetite was increased, and it never worsened my anxiety or depression. I overall had a good experience with this pill."

For Birth Control "Aurovela Fe 1/20 has made me have severe anxiety, and I have never had anxiety before. I have had some bouts of depression over the years, also managed it without meds, though. This made the episodes more frequent and into deeper depression. I also would get migraines that would last for 2-3 days at a time that wouldn't resolve with Tylenol, Advil, Excedrin, which is also odd for me. Had random menstrual cramps as well, all through the month. When it was the week of my period, it would be heavy: cramps, migraines, nausea, and sore achy legs."

For Birth Control "I have been taking birth control since I was 17 (currently 22). And this is the worst one by far. I’m reading the few reviews that are saying they like it, and I’m not believing it. Yes, I’m aware that birth control has different effects on everyone, but this specific one is messing me up bad. I waited until I was done with my period to start, and it immediately gave me intense cramps that put me into a fetal position. They made me throw up every day since starting (it’s only been two months, but like I said, side effects like this are NOT normal for me at all). My bleeding hasn’t fully stopped and is heavy and light; it flip-flops. And, it has given me both constipation and diarrhea. TMI, but I haven’t had a normal poop in weeks. 0/10, I do not recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "This was my first birth control I’ve ever taken, and my experience was just plain awful. I’ve dealt with cystic acne my whole life, and this pill has simply worsened it. A week before my period, I would get huge, I mean the biggest painful nodules I’ve ever dealt with. I gained about 8ish pounds, which is normal for most pills, but I would also have so many pregnancy symptoms, which led me to take countless tests. Not to mention it would wake me up in the middle of the night with nausea at least once every week. I know everybody's different, but personally, I had an awful experience, and I would recommend another pill far different from this one. (I was on this for about 4 months)"

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for 6 months, and every day I take the pill, about 4-6 hours after, I feel nauseated. Most of the time, I can push through it, but sometimes I can't. My depression got noticeably worse, and I developed anxiety while taking this pill. The only positive things are it has a $0 copay (at least for me), and I haven't gotten pregnant. 3/10. Do not recommend."

"I was only on the medication for 4 days, but it made my depression, body aches, swelling, brain fog, nausea, etc., much worse. I was trying to give the pill another chance because of my PMDD, but my experience on this pill was awful. Today was my first day off of it, and outside of the nausea, I have more energy, and I am beginning to feel like myself again."

For Birth Control "This was my first BC medication, so take with my review what you will. I quickly learned to take the pill during nighttime, as it made me very nauseous and sick to my stomach. This was a side effect for me that did not go away. The first month I was having full-blown panic attacks even when I was asleep, and I never experienced panic attacks like that. I was also very moody, but I blame it on retrograde haha jk, but seriously though, I was fatigued and bitchy. It did, however, grow a little bit bust-wise."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill a month. I've been nonstop bleeding for 2 weeks of that month. I was hoping it would stop after a few days, but it's heavier than my normal period was. I have PCOS and was hoping this would help. But the daily nausea, bleeding, and the fact that since I started this I've been so angry and irritable. Everything around me makes me annoyed and just angry. Horrible, constant cramping and leg pains. I do not recommend this pill to anyone. I was gonna try and do another month of it, but I really don't want to feel like this anymore."

For Birth Control "I was on Junel Fe 1/20 for just over a year, and I had decided to stop birth control and then decided to go back on. I had wanted to continue with Junel Fe, but my doctor gave me Aurovela 1/20 and told me it's the same generic and it is the same thing as Junel Fe. It is definitely NOT the same. It has been only 4 days, and I had to stop it. I am writing this after sleeping only 2 hours a night since I started this pack because my headaches are so unbearable that I had to take Tylenol every few hours to not be in pain, and I am so nauseous literally all the time that it doesn't even feel real. I never had any of this with Junel Fe. I immediately asked my doctor to switch me back, and I just hope these side effects go away. I don't ever want to feel like this again. Please do not switch to this!!!"

For Birth Control "I switched from Junel Fe to Aurovela Fe 24. I was really scared reading the horrendous comments, but after talking to my doctor, she convinced me to give it a chance. The first day, the natural nausea. The second day, the small acne. After that, it was exactly like Junel. My skin is clearer than ever, my period went from heavy 7 days to 2 light days. My appetite has increased, but I am on a weight gain journey, so it is helping in that aspect. My mood hasn't been affected in any way, and I have had mental health issues in the past, including taking anti-depressants at a time. I don't know how it would affect those going from high estrogen to low, but I would still recommend giving this medication a chance, especially if you have been on Junel or fall under that umbrella of lo loestrin, etc. Everybody's body is different, and the one positive comment I had seen before going on it mentioned that those who have bad experiences are more likely to post about it, so here is your positive comment!"

For Birth Control "I'm 31 years old, and after months of having bad periods and also discovered I had an ovarian cyst, I finally broke down and decided to get on birth control. My OBGYN decided to give me this because it's a low dose, which I'm glad about because that's what I wanted. The first couple of days, I was nauseated at night, and it awakened me (only for a little). I did have one period during my second active week of being on the pack the first month. So far, I haven't really had a period, just spotting. I can tell that my body is going through what I normally would be because I would be a grouchy lady. And I can smell the blood when I'm in the bathroom, but it's not heavy at all, just small splotches of old blood sometimes mixed with new. I have also cramped lately, which has greatly been reduced, but it's manageable. I guess I'm used to bleeding heavily, and instead, I'm not, so my brain is making me think something is wrong. The only problem I'm having is making sure I take it on time."
