For Birth Control "Been on Xulane 3 months starting today. The first month went great, no side effects, noticed my boobs grew a bit. When the second month started, it was going well until I applied the second patch. I had terrible headaches, nausea, extremely lightheaded, and the worst part, extreme stomach pains. I had to remove the patch because of the pain. I almost went to the ER. I applied the third patch of the month the following week and still had some symptoms, but they only lasted 2/3 days. I applied the first patch of the third month this Monday that just passed, and the extreme stomach pain returned along with vomiting and headaches. I've overall decided I'm going to stop Xulane and hopefully find a birth control that won't send me to the hospital."

For Birth Control "I was on Xulane for a solid three months, and I loved it. Little nausea, and periods were regular and lighter with mild cramping. Small mood swings on new patch day, but as soon as my pharmacy switched my script, it's been horrible. I've been on Zafemy for three months and had to stop since my mood swings got really bad (anger almost constantly at the beginning of the week). My periods worsened and cramps got worse. I was consistently inconsistent, and what I mean is it would be horrible at the beginning of the week, and I would feel normal towards the end, and it would start all over again with the new patch. Also, this doesn't have as strong of adhesive as Xulane did."

For Birth Control "I have been on the Evra patch for a little over a month. I'd have to say this is the worst birth control method. Right away I noticed I gained water weight. My boobs and stomach got a lot bigger, I gained the most weight. Other than the fact that I put on a few pounds, I also was very nauseous, shaky, and sweating for about 3 nights of a month. I didn't enjoy that either. I'm going back on an oral birth control method once my period is over, and I can't wait to have the patch out of my system."

For Birth Control "Was on Sprintec, and it was horrible. I would be extremely nauseous, bloated, and all the other horrible things. I expected Xulane to be the same since I was completely off birth control for a month. That was not the case at all. I had little to no side effects. I have an occasional headache, but it’s nothing terrible, and my only concern is it coming off."

For Birth Control "I LOVE the patch!! I was on the pill for a long time (about 3-4 years) and tried 4 different ones. They mainly made me sick to my stomach or have crazy mood swings/aggression. In college, I found it harder to take the pill on time and wanted to try different, more permanent birth controls. I tried NuvaRing with no success (unfortunately, it would move around too much and be quite uncomfortable), and the shot for 6 months (which made me horribly depressed and was the first birth control to cause weight gain for me). Then, I came across the patch!! It is amazing. I lost some weight, my breasts grew a bit (a side effect I didn't want), and no mood swings! No nausea and no appetite fluctuations. If anything, I'd say it curbed my appetite."

For Birth Control "The patch for me is honestly the worst birth control I have ever tried. I had it on for one day, and it was horrible. I knew the side effects and knew I would or could have nausea when starting out. Around 12 a.m., I felt very nauseous, and by that time, I didn't have any food in my stomach. I wanted to eat something but knew I couldn't hold any food down. An hour later, I just got worse, and my body felt so horrible with all the hormones from the patch. Throughout the night, I was nauseous, weak, vomiting, and dry heaving. Which was so bad to the point where I took off the patch. After taking off the patch, I still felt sick, but the vomiting stopped. One of the worst pains my body has ever felt. Maybe the patch was too much for me because I am 4'11 and weigh 85 pounds, but I'm not sure. I've read reviews that it worked for some people, but I will try another birth control."

For Birth Control "I love the patch. I was on the Depo, and it made me miserable. I was bleeding for 3 months straight till I switched to Xulane. This will be my third month using the patch, and the only con is the nausea, skin irritation around the area, and having to reapply it because of clothes or showering. I have gained weight, that I don't mind, but I can't stop eating! I plan on staying with the patch. Highly recommend."

For Birth Control "So I started back on the patch after being off all birth control for a year. I was diagnosed with endometriosis, and this does help regulate it. While my periods are still a week long, the cramping is so much less. I do get extreme nausea and sometimes vomit because of it, but I’ve also lost 16 lbs in 3 weeks, so."

For Birth Control "This is my second week using Evra. Boobs got bigger, which is good, but very tender. I never stopped bleeding since my period (spotting), and I hope it stops because I cannot have sex if I'm bleeding, it makes me very uncomfortable. Hopefully, it will stop once my period comes again. I still haven't used it without condoms, so who knows, but I really hope it works. The patch stops being sticky around the edges, but it stays on. Had a few pimples, which happens almost never to me. Nausea lasts for like 10 seconds, but hey, if it works, it's nice."

For Birth Control "I've been on it for a month, and I am thinking of changing. I have had headaches so bad they make me want to cry 24/7. I also have been nauseous almost every single day after being on it for a week. I have been extremely emotional and had times when I feel very shaky. The fact that this puts off a lot more hormones than other birth control is the reason it is causing me to have these reactions, I think."

For Birth Control "I started taking Xulane when my insurance stopped covering Ortho Evra. The first month was fine, no side effects, irritation, or pregnancy scares or anything, but then the second month I started experiencing nausea, cramps, my period was late, and then I had the absolute worst depression and even started losing touch with reality. I thought I was going crazy, but since I stopped it, I've felt completely fine. Did prevent me from getting pregnant, but the mood swings were not worth it anymore, will have to move on to the pill."

For Birth Control "I'm 17, been on the patch for over a year, and I recommend. If Ortho Evra patch is too expensive/big, try generic Xulane. Same method, no difference in effectiveness/side effects, just smaller and doesn't leave as much fabric around the glue lining as Ortho Evra. Experienced nausea, breast tenderness around the time of the period, and cramps that decreased greatly now that I'm used to it. No weight gain, doesn't fall off through shower/exercise, and if you forget to put a new patch on your patch change day, you are still protected for, I believe, 3 days. After that, use backup and start a new patch change day on the day you remembered to put it on. Been with partner over 1 year, 0 scares. Had slight temper before patch, so only mood change was more emotional/sensitive, lol."

For Birth Control "I could tell this patch wasn't for me after two months of being on it. I had every side effect you could think of: mood swings, depression, nausea, vomiting, stomach aches, chest pain, shortness of breath, headaches, tingling in my feet and hands, aching in my arms and legs. It got to the point where I was so concerned I had to go to the emergency room to make sure I didn't have any blood clots and that I wasn't in danger of having a stroke or heart attack. Turns out I was okay, but they took me off the patch immediately. I'm only 22, but I smoke, so I guess that could be why I had such a bad reaction to it. I'm disappointed it didn't work for me because the convenience of not having to take a pill every day was nice. Oh well."

For Birth Control "This was my first birth control I’ve tried. The first 24 hours was fine, but then I noticed my arm was sore where the patch was, that lasted about 2 days and then went away. I had the patch on for 1 week and was extremely nauseous to the point where I couldn’t eat anything, but also felt like I was starving. Skin is a little irritated where the patch was, the nausea was excruciating, and I ended up just taking the patch off. A couple of hours later, I already felt better."

For Birth Control "I've been on the patch for 3 weeks now, as soon as I started using it, I felt a difference. I researched the patch before I went to get on it, but I didn't know I'd have so many side effects and for so long. For 3 weeks straight, I've been feeling like I'm on my period, sort of horrible constant body cramping, very irritable. Nausea and dizziness, also very sore breasts. I've been sleeping so much after taking this and still feel tired, I've been sleeping about 12 hours almost every day. I've also noticed a bit of weight gain too. And I've been having mood swings, feeling depressed and unmotivated, I've been staying in bed mostly. I've only tried the pill and the patch. I'm forgetful about taking a pill every day, that's why I changed to the patch. I don't want to try anything else, but I've been thinking about the depo shot. Maybe I should just wait and see if all the side effects will go away, it doesn't really seem worth it to me."

For Birth Control "I have given this 3 weeks and can't do anymore. I just took it off 1 day early because of the nausea. I had other side effects (sore breasts, tired, mild headache), but I could deal with those and push through. I planned on giving it 3 months and had my doc call in anti-nausea meds, but this is miserable. Every time I eat, I get nauseated. Which is weird because I have also been hungrier than ever! I had weight loss surgery, and I am finally at my goal weight, so I'm not gonna mess that up for sure. My weight went up 5 lbs, but it was bloating, and I knew that, so I was okay. I'm 44, so I was taking it for perimenopause symptoms, but I am miserable."

For Birth Control "I switched from the Nexplanon implant simply because I heard of a recall on it, and I couldn't take the constant dizziness and headaches. I used Ortho Evra before, and it was lovely, but this isn't at all. The first night, I felt like I couldn't sleep. With that being said, I was up for 3 days with absolutely no sleep, walking around like an insane person. Severe pain (hunger pangs) that I think contribute to the weight gain, nausea, and breast pain. I took it off. I tried it again, and the physical side effects have faded somewhat, but depression, anxiety, and mood swings are back in my life 10 times worse..."

For Birth Control "I am 16, and this was my first method of birth control. I wasn't good at taking pills, so I chose this. In the first couple of weeks, my breasts felt tender. I only felt nauseous one time. I've had some headaches, but nothing too bad. I also got more acne, but now that I'm at the end of 3 months, it seems like it's gone away. I also fear that it will make me gain weight because I have gained 2-4 pounds since then. But I think my breasts got bigger."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on the Xulane patch for 2 1/2 months now, but I just took it off this morning. When placing the patch, whichever butt cheek I would put it on, that leg would go numb for about an hour. I was having crazy mood swings. And every 1st patch of the box would cause me to throw up for a few days. The Xulane patch is not for everyone."

For Birth Control "So I’ve been on Xulane for a few months and been okay, but on Sunday, I put my two second-week patches on for the new month, and ever since Sunday, I’ve been having horrible migraines, nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, and high blood pressure. I can’t sleep at night, I’m always tired. I feel like I’m dying! So something told me to take it off tonight, so I did. I hope and pray I go back to normal. Today is Thursday, just FYI."

For Birth Control "When I started Xulane, I had many reactions. I experienced severe mood swings, and Xulane increased my depression and anxiety. I also experienced redness and itching at the application site, which stopped happening about a month later. I experience nausea, headaches, and severe cramping during times of suspected ovulation. My breasts increased in size, and veins are more prominent. They are also more tender. Sex drive has also decreased. My period comes at the expected time and sometimes lasts 4 days to 6. All in all, I like the idea of not having to remember an oral contraceptive every day! I change it three times a month and the fourth week I leave it off. All forms of birth control have their weak points, but I think Xulane works for me."

For Birth Control "This is the first review I've ever written in my life. I say that to say, this is how horrible Xulane is, so bad that I had to write a review about it. I started the patch 3 weeks ago. I was very excited because I didn't have to take pills, which means you have to remember to take them every day. With the patch, you just have to wear/change them once a week. First week of using the patch, I noticed a difference in my body. I was very nauseous, migraines were almost every day, and loss of appetite. Second week, I was very, very emotional, I would cry for no reason along with being very moody. I'm literally nauseous every day now, I have vomited a few times. Long story short, I have pregnancy symptoms. STAY AWAY FROM THE PATCH!! It's horrible!"

For Birth Control "This is my first time on Xulane patch. I have been on it for 7 days now, boy, I tell ya, I have been feeling really sick, like flu symptoms and nausea. I can say it sticks on very well, you just can't be soaking for an hour in water. I take showers, it works best on my buttocks. I don't know anything about the periods yet since it is my first week."
