For Birth Control "Sooo, I started these pills back in January, and I've gained over 20 pounds. Here lately, I've been spotting, breasts have been super sore, and headaches are terrible. I need a different pill because the weight gain is absolutely terrible!!!"

For Birth Control "This pill works for not getting pregnant and that only. I was on it for about 5 years for heavy and painful periods. Within this time, I had gained almost 60 pounds. I was constantly tired, grumpy, no sex drive, and no energy. My liver enzymes were constantly high to an alarming rate, and the doctors could never tell me why. I lost a ton of hair at my temples from this medication, and I never knew it was the pill until I quit randomly 5 months ago. I have never felt better being off of Quasense. My energy came back, I have been able to drop 40 lbs in 6 months, and liver enzymes miraculously are back to normal range. The negative of quitting the pill: I now have lost 40% of my hair from stopping the hormones cold turkey. My body was at the mercy of this pill. Do not take this."

For Birth Control "I love this stuff, as does my friend who recommended it to me. I've been on it for 2 years now. I had some breakthrough spotting the first year. To me, this was not a huge deal as my previous birth control gave me crippling headaches and numerous side effects. I found dealing with breakthrough spotting (if and only if I took it a bit late) to be a minimal issue. After being on it for a year, this issue went away and I'm glad I stuck with it. I also gained zero weight from being on this birth control. The unfortunate part about birth control is everyone reacts to it a bit differently, and it's mostly people who react poorly that bother to review drugs. When it comes to birth control, you're only gonna know if you try it yourself, not on reviews. It worked well for me and hopefully does for you too."

For Birth Control "I took Quasense for about 3 years, and the first two years I loved it. I have tried at least 4 birth controls (oral contraceptive form), and this one was the first to finally work for me. However, within the past year, I have had some awful things happening to me, and my OB-GYN thinks it is due to the estrogen in the pill. I had a weight gain of 7 pounds within a week and a half. During this time, I was exercising and barely eating to try and get back down to my normal weight. However, I only continued to gain weight. I have had so much hair loss this year and now have 4 distinct bald spots. Crazy mood swings, I've had my period for 2 months straight now, and I'm extremely tired. Today, I had the IUD 'Skyla' inserted, so I hope everything improves soon :("

For Birth Control "I have been taking Quasense tablets since April 2016...mostly started because of terrible cramping from my period...it does prevent pregnancy, but the side effects are horrible...I lost 30 pounds prior to starting these pills, only to gain 22 pounds of it back in less than 4 months...I have absolutely no sex drive...and the stomach pains are so horrible that, at 30 years of age, I asked my doctor to perform a colonoscopy/endo to be sure nothing major was going on with me...I understand that everybody is not the same, however...I would not recommend these pills to anyone!!!!"

For Birth Control "Before I started taking this BC, I was working out and lost 25 pounds. After 9 months of being on this, I gained that back, plus 10 more pounds. No matter how I dieted and worked out, my weight kept creeping up. I ate like I was a pregnant woman. I craved everything! I only spotted after missing 2 days of the pill, and it would stop once I resumed. I had 1 heavy day and 3-4 light days on my period. I only rated it a 2 because I didn't get pregnant, but probably because my sex drive went to nothing. I don't recommend this BC to anyone."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I took Quasense as prescribed for less than 2 months. I had a life-threatening pulmonary embolism. Almost all tests are complete, and all specialists say it is caused by the birth control. Please be careful if you are taking hormonal birth control, please ask your doctor to do a clot risk assessment on you and know the symptoms of DVT/PE. I went to the ER with chest pain, cough, and shortness of breath. I was told if I had not gone I would be dead. Just be careful. Estrogen can increase your risk of blood clots. Know the risks, know the symptoms."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been on this birth control for a little over a year now. I originally started because my periods were so painful I would pass out and overall it was irregular. The first week I was nauseous and really, really sick. I have also lost ALL sex drive, and my boyfriend thinks I'm not attracted to him anymore. My skin became really sensitive, so every time I'm exposed to the sun for long amounts of time, I will develop a rash. It also took my body some getting used to; lots of spotting the first few months. Overall, I think this drug does its job, but the side effects are just too much for me."

For Birth Control "Well, where to start? The only pro I would say that there is with this medicine is the fact I don't get my period. I have been on this for 6 years now. Funny enough, I have been severely and clinically depressed for 6 years. I never feel happy. For whatever reason, I never thought that my birth control could be causing it. I have struggled with my weight for 6 years, staying at a steady 145-150 being 4'11. I also have severe back acne, which I have had for the last 6 years. I never put the pieces together because I have been on it for so long. I just got diagnosed with extreme pathologic hypersomnia, and I have had the symptoms for exactly 6 years now. It has ruined my life, all I have wanted to do for the last 6 years is sleep. Do not recommend."

For Birth Control "I started taking this 6 years ago due to heavy and very painful periods with awful PMS, as well as anemia. My doctor started it as a temporary measure while we tried to figure out what else might be causing the heavy periods and anemia, and after finding no other underlying causes, my doctor decided to keep me on it. I absolutely love only having my period once every 3 months. It is now much lighter and completely painless. It's also been very effective in preventing pregnancy. Due to other factors, I've weighed between 180 and 280 while taking this medication. At the upper end of the spectrum, I did see more spotting. If I miss a dose, I might have spotting, and if I miss a dose in the last month of it, I do sometimes start my period, which can suck. However, I'm careful about taking it every day at the same time, and it's worked perfectly in terms of giving me a lighter, painless period that I only have to deal with every 3 months and also preventing pregnancy. It hasn't impacted my libido."

For Birth Control "Was on it for 3 years. Mostly used to help treat PMS, cramps, and headache. While those never really went away, just delayed 3 months, were less severe, until recently. Lately, been having horrible cramps about a week before, and some mild spotting. Did not have my hormone headache, and cramps were tolerable with one month BC. Recently talked to OBGYN, she thinks this is my body's way of telling me I should have my period once a month, so back to the one month packs."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started this to help with cramping, get my period every 3 months, and control other issues. I normally get 1 heavy day, and my period lasts for 4 days. Yeah, well, I have had a heavy period now for 4 days and nonstop clotting. Don't take this!!"

For Endometriosis "I started using Quasense to control my endometriosis during basic training. It worked great! I had a little cramping during the last 2 weeks of the cycle, but other than that, it worked perfectly for what I needed it to do. No spotting for me!"

For Birth Control "I was on this for the whole 3 months, and let me tell you, I was an emotional mess. So nasty to all my loved ones for no good reason. I'd get mad and cry over the absolute dumbest things. But, this is my body, and that is how I reacted to this birth control. I'm moving on to The Patch now. It has some good reviews, and we will see how it works out. I gave this at least 5 stars because I didn't get pregnant, lol."

For Birth Control "This has been the worst birth control pill I've ever been on. I've gained around 10 lbs just in 3 weeks of taking this medication. I've had a period for 7 days when I should have been off at least 2 days ago. I've been having mood swings and depression!!! Do not take this pill."

For Birth Control "Pros: LOVE not having a period but every 3 months. Have tried several other birth control pills, and all of them I had spotting at one point or another. Never had that with this pill, I always take it at around the same time every night and haven't missed a dose in I can't remember when. That might be part of it. Also, my period only lasts 4-5 days vs. the 10-16 (yes, 16 days) I have experienced on other birth controls and before I was on birth control. Does its job, no pregnancy scares. Cons: I notice my skin is a tad oilier than usual. My back is particularly prone to breakouts. Periods aren't really less painful, I seem to actually cramp worse, but then again, that might be because I'm so used to not having a period anymore, so maybe when I do get them, I'm just not 'used to' the pain I used to experience on a regular and constant basis. Does seem a bit harder to lose weight, but I think that comes with just about any birth control on the market."

For Birth Control "The only reason I changed pill brands was due to the fact that I moved, and my new pharmacy didn't carry it. I will say I had emotional problems and weight gain, but I attribute that to other life events and not the pill. I requested extended cycle birth control because, after extensive research, I found there is no use for a period on birth control every month. It did its job. I didn't get pregnant, and that was even with me taking a medication that can interfere with birth control. (Not advising that, I had no idea it would interfere until a month later). I did spot for a while, but nothing terrible. The worst side effect I will say was when I did have a period, I had some of the worst cramps I have ever had in my life. Then again, I am on other medications (some new at the time) that could have made it worse. But, nevertheless, my cramps were the worst they had ever been, but the bleeding wasn't bad at all. I would recommend this to anybody who hates bleeding EVERY SINGLE MONTH."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for a month today. I was already having heavy bleeding prior to my Dr. prescribing this birth control. The next day I started the pill I stopped bleeding for a whole wk, then the second week I began to spot. Followed by the third week, my period started to be heavy all over again with quarter-size blood clots. I contacted my Dr., he said that my body is still trying to get used to the pill, give it some time. This week again, I called the Dr. back because the bleeding seems to be getting worse, and the cramps are on a level of 20. He said again just keep taking them, and as the new month is approaching, a change can occur, if not, contact him again. I sure hope this pill works fast and stops the bleeding."

For Birth Control "I was originally in love with this prescription birth control. I had terrible periods and ovarian cysts. My doctor suggested I have a pill that allows my period to only occur every 3 months, which I loved. It was until recently that I noticed that over the last 6 months, I've gained 20 lbs! Going into spring 20 lbs heavier is crazy. I also experienced abdominal pain and menstruation pain. I love the space between periods, but I don't love the weight. I will be switching back."

For Birth Control "I have been on this for 6 months. The first 3 months I was bleeding heavily and had very painful cramps (also, I had a cyst on my ovary that had ruptured). I absolutely hated it, but my doctor 'assured' me that it would take 3-4 months for my body to get used to the birth control, and I took her word for it. My next set was amazing! I didn't bleed until my sugar pills, but that leads me off to today. I was supposed to be off Thursday, and it's Sunday. I am still bleeding heavily, and I definitely do not want to bleed again for 3 months. Terrible experience, read reviews before getting on any birth control!"

For Ovarian Cysts "I thought this pill was awful. So bad I could only take it for 5 days before I quit. It gave me awful cramps, and then after I quit I have been dealing with constant urges to go to the bathroom (urinate) for two weeks now. I never had that before taking the pill. It's just awful... I don't recommend!"

For Birth Control "This medicine got a 4 because it did protect me from pregnancy and I had little acne while on it. But since I got on it, my sex drive has gone down and then I started having very painful sex! If you are having painful sex and your doctor just keeps saying use more lube, then listen to the podcast Bodies about sex hurting, what she described matched what I have experienced and it ended up being the birth control that caused her to have painful sex. This BC also caused chronic fatigue for me and I gained 20 lbs. I was on it for 1 1/2 years and sex kept getting more painful for me to the point I had to stop in the middle of it and it would burn when I used the bathroom afterward. This was not caused by STDs or any other infection, my gynecologist just kept saying use more lube, but that never worked. If you are looking for a BC to stop acne and periods, then this is for you, but I wouldn’t recommend it for people who want to enjoy sex."

For Birth Control "Absolutely horrible... put both my girls on it for heavy periods... by week nine, both had sores developed on the Bartholin gland area. My 16-year-old lasted a week, and my 19-year-old's were worse. Took her to the Dr., tested negative for any infection, and to rule out herpes, they tested her for that too.... which the nurse called with only the infection results and assumed it was herpes and prescribed Valtrex for 10 days and told us to read information on herpes for the next outbreak... of which they didn't even receive any results for yet... unbelievable! So... all in all, this is by far the worst experience I've ever encountered with any birth control pill. I say stay away from it... and it's not normal to not have a period for three months."

For Birth Control "As far as birth control pills go, Quasense is the best in my opinion. I tried a variety of other pills that my body reacted poorly to. My insurance covers this pill 100%, so I pay $0 when I go in to get my refills. I had spotting for the first 6 months while on this pill and nausea for the first month. It is amazing to only have 4 periods a year. My periods got much lighter, and I have little to no cramping or other symptoms. I can also decide when to have my period (if I even want one at all). The only reason I am giving this a 9/10 is because this pill does give me acne. I had very little acne in high school, and I started this pill my senior year. 5 years later, I am still experiencing acne from this pill, but it's very mild. It is annoying to take a pill every day, but I do not like the idea of irregular bleeding with the implant and the pain associated with IUD insertion. This pill is a gift."
