"This has been the worst birth control pill I've ever been on. I've gained around 10 lbs just in 3 weeks of taking this medication. I've had a period for 7 days when I should have been off at least 2 days ago. I've been having mood swings and depression!!! Do not take this pill."

"Pros: LOVE not having a period but every 3 months. Have tried several other birth control pills, and all of them I had spotting at one point or another. Never had that with this pill, I always take it at around the same time every night and haven't missed a dose in I can't remember when. That might be part of it. Also, my period only lasts 4-5 days vs. the 10-16 (yes, 16 days) I have experienced on other birth controls and before I was on birth control. Does its job, no pregnancy scares. Cons: I notice my skin is a tad oilier than usual. My back is particularly prone to breakouts. Periods aren't really less painful, I seem to actually cramp worse, but then again, that might be because I'm so used to not having a period anymore, so maybe when I do get them, I'm just not 'used to' the pain I used to experience on a regular and constant basis. Does seem a bit harder to lose weight, but I think that comes with just about any birth control on the market."

"The only reason I changed pill brands was due to the fact that I moved, and my new pharmacy didn't carry it. I will say I had emotional problems and weight gain, but I attribute that to other life events and not the pill. I requested extended cycle birth control because, after extensive research, I found there is no use for a period on birth control every month. It did its job. I didn't get pregnant, and that was even with me taking a medication that can interfere with birth control. (Not advising that, I had no idea it would interfere until a month later). I did spot for a while, but nothing terrible. The worst side effect I will say was when I did have a period, I had some of the worst cramps I have ever had in my life. Then again, I am on other medications (some new at the time) that could have made it worse. But, nevertheless, my cramps were the worst they had ever been, but the bleeding wasn't bad at all. I would recommend this to anybody who hates bleeding EVERY SINGLE MONTH."

"I have been on this birth control for a month today. I was already having heavy bleeding prior to my Dr. prescribing this birth control. The next day I started the pill I stopped bleeding for a whole wk, then the second week I began to spot. Followed by the third week, my period started to be heavy all over again with quarter-size blood clots. I contacted my Dr., he said that my body is still trying to get used to the pill, give it some time. This week again, I called the Dr. back because the bleeding seems to be getting worse, and the cramps are on a level of 20. He said again just keep taking them, and as the new month is approaching, a change can occur, if not, contact him again. I sure hope this pill works fast and stops the bleeding."

"I was originally in love with this prescription birth control. I had terrible periods and ovarian cysts. My doctor suggested I have a pill that allows my period to only occur every 3 months, which I loved. It was until recently that I noticed that over the last 6 months, I've gained 20 lbs! Going into spring 20 lbs heavier is crazy. I also experienced abdominal pain and menstruation pain. I love the space between periods, but I don't love the weight. I will be switching back."

"I have been on this for 6 months. The first 3 months I was bleeding heavily and had very painful cramps (also, I had a cyst on my ovary that had ruptured). I absolutely hated it, but my doctor 'assured' me that it would take 3-4 months for my body to get used to the birth control, and I took her word for it. My next set was amazing! I didn't bleed until my sugar pills, but that leads me off to today. I was supposed to be off Thursday, and it's Sunday. I am still bleeding heavily, and I definitely do not want to bleed again for 3 months. Terrible experience, read reviews before getting on any birth control!"

"This medicine got a 4 because it did protect me from pregnancy and I had little acne while on it. But since I got on it, my sex drive has gone down and then I started having very painful sex! If you are having painful sex and your doctor just keeps saying use more lube, then listen to the podcast Bodies about sex hurting, what she described matched what I have experienced and it ended up being the birth control that caused her to have painful sex. This BC also caused chronic fatigue for me and I gained 20 lbs. I was on it for 1 1/2 years and sex kept getting more painful for me to the point I had to stop in the middle of it and it would burn when I used the bathroom afterward. This was not caused by STDs or any other infection, my gynecologist just kept saying use more lube, but that never worked. If you are looking for a BC to stop acne and periods, then this is for you, but I wouldn’t recommend it for people who want to enjoy sex."

"Absolutely horrible... put both my girls on it for heavy periods... by week nine, both had sores developed on the Bartholin gland area. My 16-year-old lasted a week, and my 19-year-old's were worse. Took her to the Dr., tested negative for any infection, and to rule out herpes, they tested her for that too.... which the nurse called with only the infection results and assumed it was herpes and prescribed Valtrex for 10 days and told us to read information on herpes for the next outbreak... of which they didn't even receive any results for yet... unbelievable! So... all in all, this is by far the worst experience I've ever encountered with any birth control pill. I say stay away from it... and it's not normal to not have a period for three months."

"I used this birth control for 2 years, and it was awesome. I had a little breakthrough bleeding a couple of times, but other than that, I loved it."

"I have been on this pill for about a year now, and I love it! Although I notice I gained a little weight, I still enjoy 8 months out of the year with no period, and I love it!"

"If I missed my dosing time by an hour, I spotted. Miss a day? Full-blown period. It prevents pregnancy because you are always bleeding. No, thank you."

"I was on this for the whole 3 months, and let me tell you, I was an emotional mess. So nasty to all my loved ones for no good reason. I'd get mad and cry over the absolute dumbest things. But, this is my body, and that is how I reacted to this birth control. I'm moving on to The Patch now. It has some good reviews, and we will see how it works out. I gave this at least 5 stars because I didn't get pregnant, lol."
