For Birth Control "I've been on Lutera now for over two years, and I love it! My doctor started me on Yaz, which gave me cramps every day and made me extremely moody. After 3 months of Yaz, I switched to Lutera, and my crampiness and moodiness have been much improved ever since! I used to experience moderate to severe cramps the week before and during my period. I was also unable to exercise without taking Advil. On Lutera, my cramps are much milder, only last about 2 days, and I can exercise without taking medicine. Also, my period was highly irregular before Lutera. Now my period comes at the same time every month and lasts exactly five days. The only downside is that my sex drive is much lower on the pill. But I still recommend Lutera for first-time users."

For Birth Control "I started this pill about a little over a year ago. This pill has done what I needed it to do: reduced my pain and regulated my period. I cannot say this pill is for everyone, we all have different compositions, but I will say it worked for me and share the experiences I had with this medication. Note: this is an ideal pill if you cannot do too high a dosage or too low of a dosage for your birth control. I did not lose any of my libido within the period of transition from my previous pill, and I did not gain any noticeable weight on this medication. I will say that I had a couple of painful periods after finally having sex, but I think that was more due to my body adjusting than anything else. I did get some acne, but it was mild."

For Birth Control "I'm convinced this birth control is causing my depression and weight gain. Before the pill, I was very irregular with my periods. But I never even had a lot of symptoms either. Half the time, I wouldn't even get a period, so that's why I went on the pill. I had also started a very serious relationship. I looked forward to regulating my period and also having another form of contraceptive. But I've had worse periods since starting. Cramps, terrible mood swings, no urge for sex. Just awful :("

For Birth Control "Switched to Lutera from Vienva after having to get a new provider, and it’s been awful. Never had an issue with Vienva, and I had been taking it for 6-9 months, no pain on my periods and everything came on time. Ever since I switched, I’ve been having the worst period cramps ever. Thought it was just the first few months and I’d get better, but today was the last straw. Had such bad pelvic pain I could barely stand and barely sit. It was intense, it made me very nauseous. Worst experience I’ve ever had."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Lutera for a couple of years now. I recently stopped taking it this month (ran out of refills and need to see the doc again) and regret it to the fullest. I am going through really painful cramps at the moment, which I haven't had for years! The only problem I have with this particular birth control pill is that you cannot smoke while taking it. This makes me wonder what exactly is in this one that separates it from the other birth control pills that you can smoke with? Either way, because of the deadly combination of smoking and taking these pills, I've stopped smoking. I am 24 now, 5'1, 110 lbs."

For Birth Control "I have been on Lutera for 2 months after ending an unwanted pregnancy and have still not gotten my period. Each month, I come to the inactive pills and get severe cramping as if I'm finally going to get it, and I don't. Other than that, I can't say I mind the pill."

For Birth Control "My first time ever trying birth control. I accidentally started it when I was spotting, and a week later my period came. Now I'm on my 18th day, and I've never been on my period this long before. I have in the past, but only because I've had a stressful month. I'm shedding a lot more and have cramps and backache from time to time. I'm thinking of staying on it for one more month since maybe my body is getting used to it, so we'll see. I'm going to let my doctor know and keep her updated."

For Birth Control "This birth control was not that good. It made me get severe migraines, and the periods were too light. Cramps were horrible."

For Birth Control "I got the worst cramps of my life, headaches, had volatile mood swings, seemed to have gained weight on this pill. Was not a good idea and will switch soon."

For Birth Control "I had been on Orsythia for over 2 years with no problem before being put on Lutera, which I was told was just another generic form. WRONG! Lutera has made me moody all month long, my cramps are bad. I've been on Lutera for about 4 or 5 months. I've talked to my pharmacist to give me something else."
