For Birth Control "Being on Levora for 3 months. I’ve experienced a lot of acne, lots of weight gain, which is not good because I’m a diabetic. My period came late. I’ve suffered from depression, but these past 3 months, my mood swings have been off the chain. So unfortunately, I’m stopping Levora. Maybe try something different, because this is not it!!!"

For Birth Control "Overall, this has been what I have used for two years now. The side effects have been on and off, more moodiness and emotional than anything. I have noticed my moodiness more than ever here recently. The pill is great as far as regulating my periods. I just wish I was not so emotional and sometimes even depressed. It does not just affect me, it affects others as well. As far as acne, it is not nearly as bad as far as huge zits I got when I was not on birth control, but I still get them, just not as big and as bad."

For Birth Control "I just started taking this birth control about 12 days ago when I started my period, and I'm still bleeding as if I'm still on my period. The flow is light, however, the length of my average period is 2 weeks when I wasn't on birth control. So maybe the medication is altering my system... I do feel nauseous and I crave like crazy. I do feel a little depressed because my period isn't gone yet, but overall it seems to be a good birth control so far."

"I have been on Levora for 5 years to regulate my periods. It has regulated my periods, and I have a very light flow for 4 days a month. Unfortunately, I have gained 40 pounds and went from a B to a D cup. I also recently saw other people's side effects and realized many of my issues are from Levora: severe migraines, acne, needing to eat everything, mood swings, depression, etc. I am not pregnant and was happy with the pill besides the weight gain. Now that I've realized the other issues could be from this pill, I am switching to Mirena next week."

For Birth Control "I started taking this about 8 months ago, and up until 4 months ago, I was fine with it. I have been suffering major depression, suicidal thoughts, anger issues (I never had anger issues before this pill), and I'm always bleeding. I get spotting at least every week for three days. My sex drive has decreased. I am constantly having yeast infections, and when I get turned on, I can barely get wet like I used to normally before I took this pill, no matter how horny I am. Even though high blood pressure runs in my family, as an 18-year-old, my blood pressure is way too high, especially for taking birth control and my blood pressure meds. Whatever you do, DON'T TAKE THIS BIRTH CONTROL. Calling my doctor tomorrow to get off this drug after reading into it."

For Birth Control "I was on Levora for 2 months, and when I started taking it, my period was a month late, but I had some breakthrough bleeding. I would also get nauseous late at night. I did break out just a bit, and my sex drive increased. I stopped for a while and started again, and have been on it for a month now. This time my sex drive is lower, and I tend to get dry during sex more often. I'm an emotional wreck. I'm depressed and have lots of anxiety. And I'm always angry or crying. And I'm always hungry and craving things. And my breasts are slightly sore. In the first couple of weeks, I gained weight, then in the last two, I lost weight. But both experiences were different. It does its job of preventing pregnancy, though."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "Due to being diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, my doctor put me on Yasmin but later switched me to Levora. This birth control has its pros and cons. Pros: I never got pregnant, even though I was a little inconsistent with the time I took it and sometimes would even forget. Cons: It did not help with my acne. I was easily irritated and would be depressed when my period was coming. It was very difficult to shed pounds and very easy to gain weight, so I had to be cautious with my food intake. I always had headaches and felt tired and lazy a lot of the time. Birth control affects everyone differently, but I would suggest trying another brand before trying this one."

For Birth Control "This is my 4th month taking Levora. As far as my period goes, it has done wonders. My period used to come and go as it pleased, sometimes staying with me 2 full weeks out of every month, along with raging mood swings and severe cramps. The first two months were horrible, my body hasn't taken birth control in 5 years, so my stomach always felt light cramping. I did have spotting, and my emotions were everywhere. The third month, my cramps only came the first day of my period, but the best was I only bled for 4 days and then light for 2. I can count on my period not coming for 2 weeks! But I still want to find another brand because I now suffer from extreme depression at night, which was never a problem before I took this medication."

For Birth Control "These pills made me moody, oversensitive. I've had depression problems before, but this just made them come back for no reason, mostly at night. It cost me a very dear relationship. My skin got greasy, mostly on my face and scalp. I gained a lot of weight I'm still trying to lose, made me feel nauseous, and it messed up my liver. I have nothing positive to say about it. My new OB/GYN told me to stop them ASAP, and I did in hopes of seeing the change and getting myself back. Do not take this crap."

For Birth Control "I went on Levora because I wanted to skip and reduce my heavy periods as well as clear up my hormonal acne. At first, my acne cleared, but around 6 months later, my acne returned and seems to be worse, some actually cystic. My periods are still immensely heavy and around 6 days, but I skip my period for 3 months at a time, so I am thankful I have birth control to be able to only have it a few times a year. I get terrible cramps, and even my parents noticed that my moods are inconsistent and that my depression seems to have worsened. I have gained weight that is seemingly impossible to lose, and my sex drive is so low for a teenager. I'm going to stop taking it after this pack and see how my body reacts."

For Birth Control "I did not voluntarily take this, my mother made me because I lost my v-card at 17, but I was fine on it for the first 4-5 months. But I always had pain in my ovary areas, but it was fine. I actually liked it because I didn't have to worry about pregnancy. Now, after 5 months, I began losing my sex drive, I couldn't get wet at all even if I was wanting sex. I began having severe mood swings and was so depressed I didn't want to be alive, and I got the ovary pains so bad I went to the emergency room, and they just said it was nothing. The day I turned 18 is the day I got off. I immediately felt better, and I even had a little sex drive. 4 months off doing FAM birth control, still going strong. But this depends on you, I liked it at first, but not in the long run."

For Endometriosis "For endometriosis, I was initially prescribed Lybrel. They stopped manufacturing, so I took Amethyst - the only listed Lybrel generic - for 3 years with side effects of breakthrough bleeding and weight gain. Three weeks ago, the pharmacy gave me this indicating Amethyst is no longer available, which isn't true. This med is horrible. I have been bleeding low flow for two weeks (no period in 5 years), cramps, abdominal bloat, and increased a cup for bra size. Quick changes! The intense mood swings - particularly into rage and depression - have been scary. By indicating Amethyst 'ONLY,' CVS will order and my Dr. called in today. Can't get off this quickly enough. Avoid if you can."

For Birth Control "So I know this is going to sound weird but, I am 28 and was put on this pill for an IVF, and what IVF means is I can't have a baby on my own, so I have to go to a doctor to help me. So anyways, they put you on this pill for 15 days before starting other meds. This is day 4 of this pill, and I feel like I could sleep 24/7 and I am depressed more than I would want to be, but seeing how I am going to be on this for a short time, should I be worried?"

For Birth Control "Had to stop after two months. I got depressed and suicidal, constantly crying. I'm normally an extremely happy person, laugh at everything. I got really bad body acne. Painful cramping."

For Birth Control "I've been on it for a month and a half, and prior, I had very little issues with depression other than small bouts that hardly count as depression. I have had anxiety, and being on this pill has made it worse, way worse, and it has made me become depressed. I've read through the comments about this pill, and it seems like many people have been experiencing depression. This pill didn't work for me, and the other pill didn't work great for me either. Messed up my hormones too much, luckily, it didn't change my sex drive, but it caused me to just sit there and cry or do nothing. Weekends, I feel like doing nothing but sleep. I'm not that old, only 19, and have never had any hormone issues before this pill. I don't recommend it."
