For Birth Control "I got a prescription for Aviane and received Falmina from my pharmacy. I was immediately worried because of the poor ratings online. Thankfully, I have had a great experience with Falmina. It has regulated my period (I get it on the same day down to the hour each month), helped my cramps, lessened my acne, and hasn't caused any weight gain or bloating. The only negative is that I have noticed I am a bit more emotional since starting Falmina. This is the first birth control I have been on, and I don't see any reason to change."

For Birth Control "My OB-GYN doctor prescribed Falmina to me due to my extremely heavy periods and ovarian cysts. I've been taking it for 7 months now, it's done nothing but cause extreme hair loss, depression, and hasn't made my periods lighter. I'm incredibly irritable and have mood swings, constant night sweats, and yeast infections ever since I've taken this!!! I absolutely hate this. The only good thing that's happened is no ovarian cysts and no weight gain. I'm done taking this. I'm switching over to another low-dose birth control and hoping for the best. I'm anemic, and this has made my hair even worse. I'm even more depressed, my hair used to be so thick and beautiful. I have great genes, I dunno what else to do. Good luck to y'all."

For Birth Control "Prior to Falmina, I was taking Aubra for birth control, and I loved it. I never had irregular periods, mood swings, or weight gain. Since starting Falmina about 6 months ago, I’ve had extreme issues. My period comes days early nearly every month. I’ve had pregnancy scares because I will have breast pain to the point where they can’t even be touched, and I’ll be extremely bloated 1-2 weeks before my period. I’m very irritable and cry over nearly everything, something that usually never happened. Also, since beginning this brand, I’ve gained 10 pounds without changing any of my eating or exercise habits. Overall, I’ll be talking to my OB/GYN about switching brands, and I do not recommend."

For Birth Control "I was started out on Falmina to regulate my period, but during the three months it hasn't done so very well. Meanwhile, the side effects are horrible. The nausea is seriously so terrible, I’m miserable, and I barely eat throughout the day because I’m so nauseous. Not only do I feel the urge to puke 24/7, I have the worst mood swings that I’ve never had with other birth control pills. Half of the time I’m either really angry or balling my eyes out and starting stupid fights. It’s awful, and while it does prevent pregnancy, I don't think the side effects are worth it."

For Birth Control "I will be extremely blunt with this review. Falmina did the job for birth control very well as I never had any babies, and it did help me semi-get on a better period schedule, although I sometimes would start way early. I gained about ten lbs, which is insane because I was a varsity athlete all through high school, and I only used to gain muscle mass, but the weight gain really happened almost overnight. Lastly, this drug affects you mentally. I would act out and have insane mood swings and crazy panic attacks that didn’t really make sense with me, and my depression/anxiety came back full steam. For example, I took the pill as scheduled last night, and I was crying hysterically and fighting with my boyfriend and saying things I didn’t mean. I don’t recommend it for birth control. I’ve got to try to regain myself back from that because it’s been traumatic."

For Birth Control "I switched BC because I was worried about being on Depo for 8 years. First, I switched to the arm implant and dealt with the month-long bleeding and hormonal changes for almost a year before finally being put on Falmina. Yes, I did bleed 7+ days the first placebo week, but by the second, I was already seeing improvement. Now, this also happened to correlate with me finally conquering my decade-long opiate addiction, so I'm not sure how much of my mood swings were attributed to that or the BC, but the mood swings were intense. Yes, I got super anxious and depressed, but when I found something that made me happy, it felt as if the happiness permeated my entire being. Sexually active with my man every day for a year with no protection, still no baby."

For Birth Control "First, I started off with Aviane and switched to Falmina, which, from what I was told, is the generic brand. Honestly, I had the most trouble with Aviane. I would get nausea, very emotional, low sex drive, and thick discharge. Never had any problems with spotting or irregular periods. Then when I started the Falmina, all basically was taken down a huge notch and the thick discharge went away. I like that I know the exact day I will start my period, it only lasts for about 4-5 days, also very light, and usually, I am not emotionally bothered. Occasionally, I can be irrational and a bit of a crybaby, although, it wasn't as intense as when I was on Aviane. The only problem that I've had is my muscles can get very tender after work or exercise."

For Birth Control "I started on this birth control 3 months ago, and it has given me awful mood swings and intense mood feelings. It made me feel depressed, and then I'd switch to feeling great. Also, it gave me blood clots in my lungs. Don't take this birth control."

For Birth Control "I typically don't experience much weight gain with birth control, have regular and fairly light periods, and nice skin. Three weeks in, my general four-day period is going on three weeks. My face feels rough, and I've gained nine lbs. OH MY LORD, my boobs hurt, and I've gained cup sizes. I'm also more emotional. Remember, everyone's body is different... try it and see if it works. I myself will be looking for something new."

For Birth Control "I was only on this pill for 2 months before basically forcing my doctor to change my prescription. I was spotting for 2-3 weeks straight both months I was taking it and having horrible mood swings. For a while, I thought I was depressed. They say birth control pills affect everyone differently, but this one was awful for me."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for over 2 months now, and good news, I have not gotten pregnant (my partner and I stopped using the withdrawal method and condoms). But that is the only thing I like about this pill. The first month I was on the pill, I was fine, I had no complications, but right after I started my second pack, I got my first period, and it lasted 10 days, and it was heavy and crampy every day. (Usually it was only heavy and crampy the first day, and usually, it was only 5 days.) I then started getting awful mood swings where I was angry and upset all the time. I am going to switch my pill at the end of the 3 months."

For Birth Control "I had severe cramps and leg pain to the point I had to sit in very hot baths and burn my skin to feel better. With Falmina, the first year not bad, I was up and walking with a super mild cramp. BUT, I started losing hair, gaining weight, depression, mood swings, and panic attacks. In year two, I noticed I started to get pimples (I'll get a pimple once every four months, maybe), and my leg pain came back, and I would get the pain before my period."

For Birth Control "I took this birth control brand for 3 months and can honestly say I don’t feel like the same person. A majority of the month, my mood felt okay, but near the end of my pack, so like the last week before my period starts, I would get these moderate to intense mood swings of super scary waves of anxiety, I would just kind of have to ride it out until they subsided. It made me feel like I couldn’t manage my own emotional responses to things, and I often felt very on edge, especially that last week. Didn’t have the bleeding problems that other women have described on here, but for the mood swings alone, I stopped taking this brand."

For Birth Control "When I first started Falmina in August 2021, I had constant nausea and heavy bleeding for a couple of weeks. I called my doctor, and she told me to stick with it for three months as a trial. I was miserable, but I did it anyway. During the three months, I experienced constant mood swings. I cried easily. I got angry for little to no reason. I became very anxious about everything. The pros of this pill for me are that I never got pregnant and I knew when I was going to have the withdrawal bleed. The cons of this pill for me are the mood swings, anxiety, depression, and weight gain. I have never had so many panic attacks in my life as I have had in these months from August 2021 to January 2022."

For Birth Control "I really don't like this Falmina pill. I’ve been on a period the entire 3-month trial on this pill. I’m cramping every day like I’m going to have a period. I decided to stop taking it for a week to have withdrawal bleeding and start a new pack — I had no bleeding for 5 days, and then I’m having a period again on the active pills! I’m definitely going back to Sprintec, I just can't handle the mood swings. However, when you’re chronically anemic, I’ll take mood swings over unnecessary blood loss 80-90% of the month."

For Premenstrual Syndrome "I’m starting my 3rd month on this pill and am using it to treat PMDD. I take the pills continuously, only the active ones. The first two weeks I had a few mood swings (nothing like PMDD, so manageable), chills, and nausea rarely. I used to get menstrual migraines every month and still do, but am hoping those go away as my body adjusts. I’ve been spotting for 2-3 weeks and hope that will go away too. Most importantly, I haven’t had PMDD in two months!! This is life-changing, and the side effects of spotting and one pimple here and there are 100% worth it to me."
