For Endometriosis "I've been on many medicines since I found out I had endometriosis back in 2010. I've gone through six surgeries and nearly every medication out there, including IDUS, Nuva Rings, Implanon, birth control pills, shots, etc. I've been on Aviane now for seven weeks; I have bled my first three weeks into it, had two weeks of spotting, and now back to bleeding again. I have much faith that the doctor assures me that this medicine takes time to kick in. Over the last three weeks, I have gotten headaches, sick to my stomach, bleeding, odd rashes on legs/leg pain. These are very minor side effects compared to some other things I've tried. Holding out hope that this works. My opinion is everyone should give it a try. Side effects are minor compared to most."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Aviane for over a month now since I was prescribed it for my hormonal breakouts and irregular, painful periods. I had breakthrough bleeding for the second week of my first pack, but it wasn’t bad at all, I just needed a liner. My skin broke out at the beginning but is now so much better and only left with some scarring, absolutely zero cystic acne already! Worked very quickly. I’ve had no cramps, and I had a light 4-day period during my placebo week. Only side effect is my boobs hurt on my period SOOOO bad I can’t even hug people, but they are growing, so not complaining! Everyone is different, but for me personally, I love Aviane."

For Birth Control "I've been on Aviane for about a month now, and I really like it. I've had very little breakthrough bleeding, but I did experience some strange cramping. Also, it's my first week of the placebo pills, but I haven't gotten my period yet. Not sure if this is normal or if anyone else has experienced this."

For Birth Control "I began taking this birth control about 7 months ago. Upon taking it during the first month, I experienced severe nausea, headaches, and a heavy period with the worst cramps I have ever had. Each month alternates with irregular bleeding (getting my period before the placebo pill week) with cramps, which might be due to a wrong prescription. I have gained 7 pounds despite doing CrossFit 4 times a week, retaining fat around my midsection. Also, I have been moody, anxious, and have had continuous night sweats and headaches. I will be getting off of this pill ASAP after realizing that this medication is not worth the horrible side effects. I keep giving it another month to see if it will get better, but it hasn't."

For Birth Control "At the beginning, it was really bad. Awful mood swings, very agitated at absolutely everything, bleeding for 21 days straight. After 4-5 months, I did not see those mood swings anymore and had a regular cycle. Now, on it for 2 years, I noticed my cramps have been less painful. I went from fainting, vomiting, and being unable to walk to being able to take one Advil and be in slight discomfort. Although it left me with depression, I'd rather be constantly sad than experience those awful cramps. Pros: slightly better skin, regulated periods, bearable cramps, extra protection. Cons (after a year): depression, weight gain, spotting if a day was missed, more severe mood changes during periods, a bit more tired throughout the day but can still sleep fine."

For Birth Control "I'm 19 years old and on Aviane 28 after being on Lo-Loestrin FE. The first month was good. I bled for a week starting out from a change in hormones, but the second month I had breakthrough bleeding for 2 weeks leading into my period. Hoping the 3rd month is better or I'm switching. It does cause breast tenderness, and if you have depression already, it might make it worse."

For Birth Control "I have taken both Aviane and Falmina-both brands of levonorgestrel-estradiol 0.1-20 mg-mcg. Have had nothing but a good experience. My first month taking Aviane, I had some bleeding during the middle of my cycle, which might have been because I started it during the middle of my cycle. But since then, no spotting, periods always start 2-3 days after starting reminder pills. Very minor breast tenderness, only some months, but nothing different than I had with periods before I took Aviane. No weight gain, nausea, or anything like that. Highly recommend!"

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for over 10 years. Occasionally, I get breakthrough bleeding/spotting, but it's not bad-very little and light. It decreases the oiliness of my skin, which is a plus. When I take the inactive row of pills, my periods aren't as heavy and cramps are lighter. I've been taking this straight through to skip my periods for five months, at the advice of my doctor. I get a half day of faint cramping and a little spotting."

For Birth Control "I started taking this birth control 6 months ago. I had some initial spotting, which later turned into bleeding throughout my 3rd and 4th weeks. Every month. Every month I was bleeding for 2 weeks. I thought it would go away after the 3rd month because that's what the general consensus was on the internet, but it didn't, so I'm switching to a high-dose pill. However, other than the annoyance of having to constantly buy tampons, I had no other side effects. No acne, no moodiness, no weight gain (I actually ended up going from 117 to 111 while on the pill for those of you who might be worried about weight gain as much as I was), no breast tenderness, or any substantial change in sex drive. I wish I didn't have to switch."

For Birth Control "Every 2 years or so I switch birth control pills to get my body used to something new. Other than Yaz making me borderline psychotic, Aviane is next at the bottom of the list. I've been on it for about 6 months now, and I had to go back to what I was on before. If I didn't take it at the exact same time every day, I would spot, and after month 3, I bled for 2 weeks straight. My acne is the worst it's ever been, and I know Aviane caused the cystic acne on my chin every month."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Aviane for about a week and a half, and I am still bleeding. This is day 11 of bleeding. Clots and minimal pain. I have tried other contraceptives in the past and don't remember which ones or if they had any negative side effects, I only took them for a short time. I tried the Nuva Ring but later found out I was pregnant (miscarriage occurred). That was back in early 2004. I don't have too many complaints. Just the bleeding for so long. This is my third cycle since my son was born in September 2008. I had a 33-day cycle, then a 31, both times I only bled for a maximum of 8 days."

For Birth Control "Initially this pill was great. I had no side effects whatsoever. However, around week 2 of taking it, I started essentially what was a second period. This lasted for about a week. The breakthrough bleeding was so bad that I had to stop taking this pill. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who has regular menstrual cycles, as it totally messed mine up."

For Birth Control "I have been on Aviane for 2 and a half weeks and have been extremely emotional, had breakthrough bleeding for almost a week now, and have bad cramps and bloating. I have seen most people say that it gets better after the first few months, so I'm crossing my fingers."
