“I was switched to this generic after being on many others including the same Rx formula and other formulas in the past. This was by far the worst pill I've ever taken as far as being ineffective for hormone control. My ovarian cysts returned, I had more painful periods, acne, bloating, mood swings, and the feeling of not wanting to be near or touched by anyone. Once I was back on my previous brand of generic for 2 months I stabilized completely again.”

“After the 1 month, I started to have headaches, I've always have cysts and as a consequence, acne. It got WORSE! Terrible! And I started to have hair everywhere! It's horrible! Dr said it was going to get better after the 3 months, it's been 6 and it's just worse everyday. I'm definitely changing.”

“I have been on Aviane for 2 months now going on three, within the first month I've experienced headaches, depression, mood swings, severe cramping and bloating as well as stomach gain(which went down). All of those symptoms went away by the second month of taking this pill which I've experienced lighter periods still have mood swings and get depressed at times but I have very bad breakouts all over my face, chin and neck as well black marks on my forehead, I've always had acne but I've never experienced it this badly, I will continue to take it for the 3rd and 4th month just to see if anything gets better and I will keep you posted.”

“This is my first time on birth control and I've heard so many stories about how Aviane gets you all irritated and nauseous, but so far in the one week I've been using it I feel perfectly normal. I'm not sure if that is because I just started, only time will tell. I'm not having any cramping in my ovaries because of my cysts so far. 10 out of 10 for me!”

“For four months, I have suffered from constant cramps, 24/7. My doctor finally took an ultrasound and found two very large cysts. One was filled with blood. He explained to me this is why I am in so much pain. I also have been experiencing other symptoms. Thinning hair, low back pain/throbbing, nausea, ill feeling, facial hair, etc., etc. I went back in and he finally put me on birth control pills. I am 37 and taking birth control pills for the first time. I am almost two weeks into taking them and to my relief I have not suffered any bad side effects, but it's still early. I can only hope that this is a good sign. And I can only hope that my pain will subside and my cysts will dissolve. I have my fingers crossed. Wish me luck!”

“This is a terrible drug. I have tried 5 or 6 different birth control pills, but this one was unbearable. It gave me panic attacks, nausea, dizziness, and high blood pressure. I didn't last a week. I would never ever reccomend this birth control pill. I can't wait until it is 100% out of my system.”

“I've been taking Aviane for about 2 months going on three. The first two months were great now that I am on the third pack I've been feeling really nauseated. Although it did help with severe cramps I do not like feeling like I have to throw up all the time. It also cleared up my face a little.”

“I have been taking this drug for 4 weeks so far and I am highly disappointed. I have an ovary cyst and I need to block my period completely for several months to see what is happening (cyst is growing with each period). Instead, 19 days after my last period, I got slight bleeding, than it got growing and right now I am having almost 10 days of light bleeding, while taking this without a break. I paid $45 for it. I have never ever paid this high amount for 3 X 21 birth control pills. ”

“I started taking this pill about a month and a half ago and have had nothing but problems. I started taking it in the morning when I would be getting ready for work, then get sick about half way through the day. So I decided to take it at night, and I wake up at night and get sick from it. Also, my first period on it lasted 10 days. I'm on day 7 of current one. I have horrible mood swings and cramps which I have NEVER had a problem with before.”

“For birth control, it works wonderfully. As for ovarian cysts it seems to do nothing for me. I still get them as often as I used to and I see no end to it.”
