For Birth Control "I took this medication hoping it would stop my periods, as it claims. It's supposed to be a generic of Lybrel. I took it for 8 months, never stopped my period. In fact, I had spotting and bleeding every day. I also became emotional and moody."

For Birth Control "This pill is great in theory... unless you take it on the first day of your period like instructed! Week 3 of this pill, and week 3 of my period. I'm pretty disappointed. And the mood swings I've been experiencing are ridiculous! Bright side, I haven't had any cramping. That's the only good thing I have to say about this pill right now."

For Birth Control "Currently on week 6 of Amethyst and looking to switch. I really hoped the reviews I'd read magically wouldn't apply to me, but alas, they did. The first 3 weeks were great! I started it on the second day of my period, and it stopped it! Then I was free until 3 weeks ago. Now I've been bleeding since! At first, it was just a little spotting, then brownish discharge (fun), then full-on bleeding. Right, this is normal in the beginning, I get it... But I'm also having severe mood changes. I had been feeling great beforehand on a mood stabilizer for my emotional fluctuations-but once I started this, I felt like I had digressed. I am now unpredictably emotional, irritable, and randomly sad. Oh! And my face broke out a lot! I had my acne under control so well :( So, time to find a new birth control because these are not side effects I can tolerate for the next potential 5-11 months. BUT! One positive: I had lots of sex without using condoms and didn't get pregnant. So, at least it's effective! Lol"

For Birth Control "This is horrible!! I’m bleeding like I have my period. I gained weight, my boobs are like 2 sizes bigger and hurt a lot. On top of that, crazy mood changes... I’m so disappointed about these pills, I wish I would have read these comments before starting to take it. I would have never done it."

For Birth Control "On Amethyst birth control, I spotted kinda a lot for the first 3 months. I have been on it for about 6 months now. I still have some spotting, but very minimal, hardly noticeable and only for a few days. Sometimes before, it would be over a week, but not more than 2. I haven't had any other physical symptoms, though, and no noticeable mental health changes (wasn't perfect before, but if anything has slightly improved because previously my periods caused bad mood swings and self-loathing). Honestly, I've had some positive physical changes - my butt and boobs have gotten bigger, but I haven't really gained any weight in my stomach or elsewhere, and my metabolism seems about the same so far."
