For Migraine Prevention "I have had a wonderful 2 months, looking forward to my next injection. Yes, I have had a few headaches, but nothing like before and controlled with over-the-counter medications. I'm sorry for those who have not had success with Aimovig. I am grateful for it! No side effects."

For Migraine Prevention "I took my fourth injection today at 140 mg. Each time I am incredibly fatigued and get a headache/migraine. The first injection I had an intractable migraine for 3 days. But overall, I am seldom having migraines now. I just dread the day I have to do an injection and know I will not feel well for a day or two. It is worth it since I had chronic migraines more days a month than not, but now it is only one time a month with the injection."

For Migraine Prevention "53 yr old male. I would get typically 3-4 migraines a week (every other day), exceeding the monthly number of sumatriptan that I could get to treat the headaches when I feel them coming on. Once I started taking monthly injections of Aimovig in March 2019, I had maybe one headache a week for the first two weeks of the month, then two headaches the third week, and 2-3 in the fourth week. So Aimovig significantly reduced the number of migraines I had per month down to a manageable number, which was a huge relief for me. Side effects I felt were a headache the day of the injection, which I could treat with OTC Excedrin, and some constipation, but not severe like some others experienced-no laxatives needed. After 4 months, I'm disappointed to learn that my insurance no longer covers this drug, and there's no way I can pay the monthly retail price, which is more like a car payment."

For Migraine Prevention "I have been on Aimovig for about a year. I was previously disabled with migraines, having 15+ days a month of severe, debilitating headaches, vomiting/diarrhea every 15 minutes on the hour for 5-7 days at a time, leading to severe dehydration/electrolyte imbalance. Since starting the 140 mg injections monthly, I have my life back. I still get migraines, but not severe and very easy to control with dihydroergotamine nasal spray. To alleviate the GI symptoms, I have gone gluten-free, so no more abdominal bloating. Aimovig is not for the occasional migraine sufferer and should be reserved only for those who are totally disabled by it."

For Migraine Prevention "I have been on this 70 mg for two weeks. I took it June 1st and started feeling dizzy and lightheaded on June 10th, and I also suffer from anxiety, so that doesn't help my situation. It doesn't list any side effects, but I was fine before I took the injection. Now I feel like I'll pass out, I've got to lay down, and I went to the emergency room three times already. They told me it is vertigo, but I am positive it is not. I will not be taking Aimovig again. My eyes hurt and are sensitive to light, and I get a little headache, not the migraine."

For Migraine Prevention "To begin with, the injection pen for my medication is not functioning well. I began using it in October 2022 and took my last dose on January 23, 2023. The first dose was okay, but it's possible that was due to Emgality still being in my system. However, after the second dose, I started experiencing constipation and noticed that something was not right. I began to have more migraines, felt generally restless, and my vision was getting blurry. By the time I took my third dose, I was not feeling well and contacted my doctor about potentially increasing the dose to 140 mg. But as I was unsure about the cause of these issues, I decided not to increase the dose and still took the fourth one. After the fourth dose, I experienced muscle weakness, more headaches, exhaustion, and blurred vision. I was taking more Nurtec than ever before to try and alleviate the symptoms. However, on February 10, 2023, I found myself struggling to maintain balance and experiencing severe blurred vision. I went to the ER, and everyone thought I was having a stroke, but it turned out to be a migraine, unlike any I had ever experienced before. I have since stopped taking the medication, but I am still dealing with complications. Ten days later, I am still experiencing headaches, feeling unsteady and shaky. I am now taking Nurtec as a preventive measure. The persistent brain fog and constipation are terrible."

For Migraine Prevention "Aimovig was good till it wasn't. The first time I took it was during a long migraine, and it cleared right up. I had some muscle cramps and weakness, plus a blinding non-migraine headache for a few days, but the migraines were gone, so I was happy. The second injection was a nightmare. Overwhelming fatigue, irritability, malaise, muscle cramps, and nightmares. I regret taking that second shot. I'm still living with some side effects, but they are slowly fading. This drug may help some people, but it very nearly ruined my life."

For Migraine Prevention "I started Aimovig a week ago, now I am having chronic fatigue and chest pain, I can barely stand. I only feel like this after a very bad case of pneumonia. This isn't normal, I have also had a headache for a week straight. I feel like I'm struggling to breathe. I did great with Botox, I just didn't like the Botox 'face.' I will discontinue and return to Botox. This isn't worth it. Not for me."

For Migraine Prevention "A life changer. I still get headaches every other day, but they are mild, often can be treated with over-the-counter drugs, and I very seldom have days when I feel horrible. Aimovig reduced my migraines by at least 50%. When making plans for the next week, my first reaction is no longer to wonder if I have a migraine on that day or not."

For Migraine Prevention "Two days after initial injection, I noticed loss of energy and loss of appetite, generally just feeling 'not with it.' Waiting to see if this passes. Still getting headaches, although not as severe."

For Migraine Prevention "Two days after the first dose, this drug has changed the quality and reduced the severity of my chronic migraine, but side effects have been worse than the migraines. I have a weird new chemical-feeling anxiety that deep breathing won’t touch, new tightness in my chest and head, and nausea when I run. Pooping has started feeling like forcing bricks through a hole, and I now see blood on the toilet paper afterward. I feel poisoned. I wish that I could get this drug out of my system. I will never take it again."
