Empagliflozin / metformin "I take it along with Metformin ER and Ozempic. My A1c is in the low 6's, but I'm not 100% sure which one helps the most, though Ozempic led to a 30 lb weight loss, which I'm sure was a big factor. Unfortunately, the Synjardy savings card went from paying $70 to only $40 this past month, so my out of pocket with insurance went from $30 to $60 per month. I may stop taking it soon to see its real impact since their 'pays up to $175 per month' card only covers $40!"

Empagliflozin / metformin "This drug is trash. Used this drug for over 2 years. This company, Eli Lilly, should be investigated. They put something in that drug to make you crave sugar. My A1C went up to 11, it was at 9 when I started. Then started Xigduo for the past 3 months. No craving for sugar, everything went down."

Empagliflozin / metformin "Started taking Synjardy XR a couple of months after being diagnosed with type 2. Nine months later, my kidney function had declined substantially. Perhaps it is a coincidence, but the decline in eGFR and increasing macroalbuminuria started exactly when I started taking Synjardy XR. Pharma promotes that the drug may help slow kidney disease, but then they advise that anybody with kidney disease should stop taking it once your kidney function is compromised to a certain level. It makes no sense. No, thank you. I’m going to stop taking it and see what happens. I am still taking insulin and Mounjaro. Just make sure your doctor can explain to you how this medication could negatively impact kidney function."

"I was prescribed empagliflozin for my type 2 diabetes. Within a month, I developed hydronephrosis, which is a serious UTI and acute kidney injury. I was hospitalized for 2 weeks for IV antibiotics. I had no outward signs of a UTI before my hospitalization. I was within a day of dying thanks to this drug. This drug should be removed from the market."

"I've been taking Metformin and have had Empagliflozin (12.5) added. I've spent plenty of time on the toilet, diarrhea, gas, bleeding, lower abdominal pain. I stopped it."

Empagliflozin / metformin "My doctor gave me a coupon for a 14-day free trial of Synjardy. Previously, I had been on 1500 mg of metformin, and he wanted to get my A1C down to 6 or 7 from 8. Well, the first day I took it, I felt horrible. So tired, I slept on the couch. Felt weak, nauseous, had major abdominal pain. Took it for 3 more days, each day with the same horrible side effects. I thought I was getting sick with the flu or something, but then read the Synjardy product information. Every side effect I had was listed. Stopped taking the drug and felt absolutely fine again. I wish I could take it, but it made me feel absolutely horrible."
