For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Slynd for about 7 months now, and switched to this just to try it out after previously taking norethindrone for years and just not liking the way my feet would swell up on it. With Slynd, I no longer retain water weight like I did with the previous pill, but my cycle is crazy whacked out. I get my period pretty much every other week for about 5-7 days, sometimes it’s full bleeding with all the period symptoms (cramps, back pain, fatigue, grouchiness, headaches, brain fog) and other times it’s just light bleeding. It’s not regular at all, and I feel like I’m constantly dealing with PMS or menstruation. Psychologically, I’m exhausted all the time but can’t fall asleep, irritable, restless, and depressed. It took me a while to even consider it might be the birth control, but that’s the only variable that’s changed. I’m glad to hear that this works so well for other people, but unfortunately, I can’t wait to switch back to norethindrone."

For Birth Control "There are things that are good and things that are bad about this pill. I have been taking it for a year. Start with love: I’ve always had heavy cramps and bleeding. With Slynd, my periods have been light to nonexistent, with very light cramping. Also, I haven’t gotten pregnant. Ok, things I don't like: a month or so after starting, I started to get headaches near my left ear that would extend down to my chest. This caused great anxiety. I had my first ever panic attack in my life about 3 months in. Headaches got better for a while, and no panic attacks for about 4/5 months. Then anxiety through the roof, headaches, and chest pain have returned. I’ve been to multiple doctors and have checked my blood work and heart with no issues (I’m 31 and healthy). I have decided to stop taking it for a few months and see if my symptoms improve. As much as I want them to improve, I also have liked the birth control otherwise. We will see, but this anxiety has got to go."

For Birth Control "I had a horrible experience with these pills. When I bought it, I was hoping the birth control would remove bad symptoms from my period because I wanted to feel normal even on critical days. I tried another brand, but I had headaches. With Slynd, I had breakthrough bleeding in the first month, which I did not expect. I took one pill daily. I was so scared, I never had it before taking birth control pills. It lasted a week, usually my periods last 3-4 days. Also, I had horrible pain, no energy, and I wanted to sleep all day. I contacted my doctor, she advised me to take ibuprofen 600 mg every 6 hours to reduce pain and bleeding. When this nightmare ended, I started having diarrhea. I can't recommend this drug, or it is necessary to conduct an individual examination. Just to be careful."

For Birth Control "I'm 41, a smoker, and used to have depression and migraine problems. Before Slynd, I was a year on Camila, which gave me severe mood swings, uncontrollable anger, and depression (with suicidal thoughts) all the time, plus heavy bleeding twice a month for the last 5 months. My GYN recommended Slynd. I'm on my second pack now, and that’s what I noticed. My depression went away completely! My mood is stable every day (before it was changing from anger to tears, then to stupid excitement several times during the day). It's funny, I feel happier now. I wake up easier in the morning. I lost 6 pounds for a month on Slynd (eating the same things as before). No interest in alcohol at all, I just don't drink it (before, I used to have a glass or two every evening, maybe because I was constantly depressed). Skin is softer, no acne so far (on Camila, skin was clean as well, but extremely dry and felt like a sand mask on my face, constantly like you touch a kiwi). No headaches at all now. Period lasts 6 days."

For Birth Control "First off, I do not recommend taking this pill at all. I was put on Slynd at the end of November 2020 due to numerous headaches and migraines from the combination pill. It was recommended by my doctor to switch to Slynd. I was informed that with this pill, you won’t get a period, which I was okay with since I have PCOS and have the same problem off of the pill. Everything was going fine with this pill (no period, no mood swings, etc.) until about halfway through May 2021. I started to breakthrough bleed, and it did not stop. Someone else I know went through the same thing, but for a longer period of time, and I was not about to deal with that. I am currently on a new pill, but I am still bleeding. It’s going to take a while for the Slynd pill to get out of my system, so that is why I am still bleeding. DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL unless you want to bleed for weeks to months straight."

For Birth Control "This was probably one of the worst birth controls I have ever taken. Combination pills did not work with me, so I wanted to try this. This scared me away from ever wanting to try another BC again. I am on day 3 of stopping it. I still feel like rubbish, my breasts hurt, I feel nauseated, I have had like a pressure headache for weeks, I gained weight quickly, had diarrhea, incredibly fatigued, almost felt like I had the flu. I wake up in the morning feeling so lazy even though I got 9 or more hours of sleep. My period was two weeks long. I only took it a month, and I could not stick it out. Everyone is different, but this was my experience. I will deal with endo pain over feeling like this."

For Birth Control "My doctor gave me this pill to take since they did not want me to keep taking the birth control pill. At first, I was not sure after reading the reviews, but I gave it a try. The first month all I did was bleed, it was a lot at first, then it slowed down. In the middle of the pack, I started getting real bad headaches. I did not think much of it. I started the second pack, I kept bleeding, but then my legs, arms, and back got really painful. I was not sure what was going on. I read the side effects and saw that this pill can cause muscle pain. As the days went on, it got worse. By the third month, I was in so much pain I did not know if I could go on. I was getting weird feelings in my face. I was getting worried this may cause me to have a stroke. I went off it, and within three days, I felt so much better. Overall, I would not recommend this pill to anyone. The side effects are bad."

For Birth Control "This is my first time taking birth control, and I just admit I’m happy that I chose Slynd. I was super skeptical after reading some reviews, but I realize that everyone’s body reacts differently to medications. I have been taking the medication for about a month now, and the only side effect I experienced was a headache for about two days. No mood swings, no weight gain, no cramping. The day my period was supposed to start, I had extremely light spotting just for that day, then it was gone. I haven’t gotten pregnant yet, so it seems to do the trick. I’m definitely going to continue to take this birth control."

For Birth Control "Only managed to take 2 days before the side effects absolutely dropped me! I wish I did more research first. Major headaches, dizziness, fatigue, body aches, sweats. Never had any issue with contraceptive pills in the past. 100% would not recommend!"

For Birth Control "Month 1 was amazing. Period was light and slightly shorter. I had some side effects (acne, headache), but that was to be expected. Month 2: Period came in the middle of the pack and lasted ~13 days. I decided to keep taking Slynd since it had only been two months. Month 3: Period came on week three, lasted ten days. I decided to skip the placebo pills because I didn’t want to bleed again and wanted to see if that would change anything. Month 4: Week 2 and I’m bleeding again. Meaning I only got one week of no blood so far for October. I’m not in control of my emotions. I’m angry all the time, crying. I don’t feel like myself at all. Peeing constantly. I’m tired and depressed and having brain fog, although I’m not attributing everything to Slynd. My boobs, back, and side hurt constantly. No weight gain, boobs may have gotten bigger?? I’m not comfy relying solely on condoms, so not sure what to do."

For Birth Control "I'm only on day 4, and I can't seem to take this pill. I have high blood pressure due to pregnancy, and it seems to raise my blood pressure even being on a medicine to control my pressures. The symptoms I have are the headaches, which are the worst! And rising of my blood pressure."

For Birth Control "Been using Slynd for two full months, skipping the placebos. Pros: hasn't affected libido, mood feels more stable, no spotting, no weight gain, hasn't made my acne any worse. Cons: really bad headaches and heartburn in the first three weeks, still get my period on a normal schedule, my acne has not improved, vaginal dryness is definitely noticeable, and I'm irritable far more frequently than before. Overall it has been a neutral-positive experience. I'm unsure whether I will continue it long term. I'm going to continue for a couple more months and then reassess."

For Birth Control "I have been on many different kinds of birth control pills and even the implant. Sprintec worked okay for me before having my baby, but after, I couldn’t be back on it. I also have blood pressure issues, and I’m on medication for that, so naturally, combination pills weren’t the best option anyway. So I tried this type of birth control since the arm implant didn’t work for me either (made me very angry and bleed constantly). Slynd started out okay. Didn’t have a period the first month, the second month I started randomly bleeding for 4 days in the middle of the pack. The next month I started bleeding mid-pack but did for 2 weeks. In the middle of all this, I started having awful headaches. My mind went down the drain. Anxiety so bad. One second crying, then I’m super happy, then I’m so mad. The worst of it all, besides the headaches, would have been the extreme exhaustion. Like can’t even get off the couch exhaustion. I’m getting off of it right now after seeing the reviews."

For Birth Control "I wanted to share my review as I have been on this for 2 months and a week into the 3rd. No period at all, and that has never happened to me before, so I’m not sure if I like that. Although I take tests and they are all negative, so honestly, so far, so good! My skin has cleared up from previous pills causing my acne, my mood is about the same on the pill as it is off it, and I haven’t noticed much weight gain. I would say I have no major headaches like I did previously on other pills, and I suffered from HBP since I was 23, so I finally got my insurance to cover this mini pill. Overall, I’d say y’all need this stuff!!"

For Birth Control "Don't be scared. It'll take a while for your system to adjust. You may feel off with side effects for a few months or more. Some people do have worsened psych issues, but that is a risk with any med changes. Everyone is different. Slynd has been safe and effective for me. No pregnancy. The first few months, I had headaches, persistent bleeding, and reactive mood swings. This stopped. I have horrible PMDD. Before I got on this birth control, I felt like straight garbage, BUT PMDD is now manageable. I still have depression, but that's unrelated. Progestin-only pills can stop cycles entirely in some people, won't in others. Mine has stopped as I take Slynd continuously. It comes back and can be irregular when I get very sick or sleep deprived. Drink water. Can be dehydrating. Get the manufacturer's coupon, PLEASE. It is expensive. Have the pharmacist run it as cash pay, as insurance doesn't cover much since it's new, and there's no generic. I personally pay $25 for a 3-month supply."

For Birth Control "I’m currently at the end of my first pack, (I know it takes a couple of months to get to its normal use), but I am not sure how I feel about it. I kinda want to switch. I’m 18 years old, and I pass out on my periods and have high blood pressure along with migraines, which is why I’m on Slynd. I have been having breakthrough bleeding and headaches. My mood has been so much different. I feel more sad and get more upset quicker. I am thinking about switching to the implant, however, I’m not sure if it’s a better option or not."

For Birth Control "I have been fixed, but periods are extremely bad, so I asked for a hysterectomy. In order for insurance to pay, I have to be on birth control or try some less invasive procedures, I chose BC. I am a smoker, so they put me on Slynd because there is no estrogen in it. I bled for the first 9 days, had breakthrough bleeding afterwards, experienced major headaches and excessive cramping, which caused me to take ibuprofen. I started my 2nd week, couldn't concentrate, my whole body was experiencing the feeling of having a fever all the time, and I had no energy. Starting the 3rd week, my urine was dark orange, so maybe I have a UTI. I went to the doctor, but the urine dips and cultures all came back negative, they drew blood and saw that my liver functions were extremely high. 3 days without taking the pill, and the liver issues are continuing to get worse (I don't drink alcohol!). I'm becoming jaundiced, and my nausea is uncontrollable even with prescribed meds. Ultrasound tomorrow to see damage caused by Slynd."

For Birth Control "If you are a young girl and do not have headaches or blood clotting disorders, DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL!! Even if you do have headaches, just get the combination pill and take an Advil. This pill consumed my life for six months. I had my period EVERY WEEK! My hormones were all out of whack since I was only getting progestin, so this caused me to become extremely depressed. When I told my primary care doctor about what my gynecologist prescribed me, she was baffled because this pill was made for women 35 or older! She put me on a combination pill and it’s currently working its magic to keep me protected (which the other pill was not as protective as this one for a girl my age) and it’s in the process of regulating my periods, which I still get irregularly for the time being."

For Birth Control "Switched from COC to this because I get headaches and needed something better for acne. The first month was great, with no side effects. In the second month, I had heavy breakthrough bleeding for about a week, but it resolved. However, that’s when insomnia started too. I have narcolepsy and never have had insomnia or issues staying asleep. I get up to pee and can’t go back to bed, and my anxiety and depression (never had depression before) are through the roof. I do believe it’s helping my skin, but this is not worth the scary way I feel. Switching to Yaz and hoping that helps. I had so much faith in this pill, and I’m sure it works for many, just did not for me. I’m 6 days away from finishing my second pack and haven’t slept through the night in weeks. I’ve missed work and school."
