For Birth Control "I was given Slynd by my doctor at my 6-week postpartum visit. Supposedly, it's okay to breastfeed while taking it. I wish I hadn't taken it at all. Within a week of taking it, starting on the last day of my first period since becoming pregnant, I started another period. Heavier than any menstruation I have ever had. So I looked at the side effects - this tiny pill was also causing chest pains, body aches, acne, and mood swings. All in a week and 3 days. If it messed with my body that badly, I can't imagine the harmful effects it could be having on my baby. I'm extremely unhappy with my doctor for pushing this on me."

For Birth Control "This drug has improved my quality of life and my mental health! I am 30 years old and have had horribly heavy periods forever, but over the past 2 years, the pain was becoming unbearable. My mood swings were off the charts, even when I wasn’t on my period, I cried quite a bit. I would have nausea, no appetite, and horrible migraines the first 4 days of my period. I started taking Slynd, had 1 period after about 3 weeks, and haven’t had one since! My pain is gone, mood swings are gone with the occasional irritable day, intense cravings are gone, migraines aren’t near as often, and I feel as though I think more clearly and am so much happier. When taking the combination pill, all it did was exacerbate all of those issues. So happy my doc knew what I needed and it has worked!"

For Birth Control "So I just finished my first month on this pill called Slynd. There are more pros than cons. The first week, I have to say, I was a bit emotional and had some spotting. My doctor said that the breakthrough bleeding was completely normal. I also get mild headaches, so I started taking it right before bed so I’d sleep it off. The pros are that I didn’t gain any weight, which usually happens, and after the first week, I felt no mood swings or emotional in any way. I’m so upset because it’s $300, and my insurance only covers half, so it’s just way too much to keep up. I have to switch to a new one, and I’m not happy about it because I love Slynd. No weight gain and no mood swings made me so happy. I HIGHLY recommend it if you can afford it."

"After experiencing a failed uterine ablation, my male gynae surgeon decided this drug would be a great option for me. I was hesitant to take it due to previous adverse effects with birth control pills in the past. I talked through my concerns with him, I was reassured this was a brand new drug and had little to no side effects. Ha. I'm on week four, my period, which has been like clockwork for the last 15 years, even after having a uterine ablation, came a week early (while I was taking the active tablets). Go figure. Awful cramps leading up to bleeding and throughout. During the first two weeks, I was extremely emotional, crying at everything, getting rage angry at everything, and most disturbingly having awful thoughts about harming myself. My hair is falling out in clumps in the shower, to the point where I now have visible thinning around my hairline. My libido is non-existent. I haven't thought about sex in a month. No way would a doctor prescribe a drug with this many side effects to a man."

For Birth Control "I'm 41, a smoker, and used to have depression and migraine problems. Before Slynd, I was a year on Camila, which gave me severe mood swings, uncontrollable anger, and depression (with suicidal thoughts) all the time, plus heavy bleeding twice a month for the last 5 months. My GYN recommended Slynd. I'm on my second pack now, and that’s what I noticed. My depression went away completely! My mood is stable every day (before it was changing from anger to tears, then to stupid excitement several times during the day). It's funny, I feel happier now. I wake up easier in the morning. I lost 6 pounds for a month on Slynd (eating the same things as before). No interest in alcohol at all, I just don't drink it (before, I used to have a glass or two every evening, maybe because I was constantly depressed). Skin is softer, no acne so far (on Camila, skin was clean as well, but extremely dry and felt like a sand mask on my face, constantly like you touch a kiwi). No headaches at all now. Period lasts 6 days."

For Birth Control "I started taking Slynd in the beginning of March, and I'm currently on my second pack. So far, I've had breakthrough bleeding lasting 7 days every second week of the pack. I'm breastfeeding, so I haven't returned to my real cycle yet. So far, no weight gain or mood swings and no acne, just heavy breakthrough bleeding. My libido is great and unaffected by this pill, and I love the 24-hour window just in case I get distracted. I have a standard Blue Cross insurance, and my pills are covered at 100 percent."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Slynd to help my ovarian endometriosis. I am on month 4 at the moment and have been skipping the placebo pills as prescribed. I have experienced bleeding and brown spotting, which lasts for 3-4 weeks in a row (!) with only a 1-1.5 week break. Among other side effects are mood swings, depression, acne, and low sex drive. However, one of the endo cysts did diminish from 8 to 5 cm, so apparently that is thanks to the drug. The smaller cyst has stayed the same size so far."

For Birth Control "Month 1 was amazing. Period was light and slightly shorter. I had some side effects (acne, headache), but that was to be expected. Month 2: Period came in the middle of the pack and lasted ~13 days. I decided to keep taking Slynd since it had only been two months. Month 3: Period came on week three, lasted ten days. I decided to skip the placebo pills because I didn’t want to bleed again and wanted to see if that would change anything. Month 4: Week 2 and I’m bleeding again. Meaning I only got one week of no blood so far for October. I’m not in control of my emotions. I’m angry all the time, crying. I don’t feel like myself at all. Peeing constantly. I’m tired and depressed and having brain fog, although I’m not attributing everything to Slynd. My boobs, back, and side hurt constantly. No weight gain, boobs may have gotten bigger?? I’m not comfy relying solely on condoms, so not sure what to do."

For Birth Control "My doctor recommended switching my birth control method to SLYND because of serious migraines I was experiencing. I had previously been on NuvaRing for several years prior. I took a 6-month break after I stopped NuvaRing and switched to SLYND. I was very hesitant to try another pill (I had tried multiple combination pills prior to NuvaRing and had very bad side effects). Being off birth control for several months, I finally felt my normal self. I had no bloating, mood swings, migraines, or increased appetite. I have now been taking SLYND for two months and feel the exact same way I did while not taking any birth control. I still feel myself and have not gained any weight. I have high energy and do not feel tired all the time either. My periods have been a little off, but that is normal since I have only been taking it for two months. I am so pleased with SLYND and would definitely recommend it to others who have had bad experiences with other methods."

For Birth Control "I just finished my first pack 2 days ago, and I'm waiting for my period, which looks like it's not going to happen anytime soon! I'm a petite PCOS sufferer, and I have been struggling with this monster for 14 years. I have been on so many different types of birth control, but all had ended horribly, and one caused cervix irritation, causing unstoppable bleeding! Since starting this pill, that non-stop breakthrough has ended. I also love the fact that it's Drospirenone, meaning that I don't have to worry about androgenic effects in my body. No weight gain, no acne, and my mood swings have improved a lot! I'll continue taking this pill. I'm just hoping that it doesn't completely stop my period, but it balances it, and we'll see..."

For Birth Control "After reading so many reviews, I thought it might be helpful to share my experience with Slynd. I have been on this BC pill for 3 and a half months. I’m 45 years old, taking it mostly to help with my endometriosis pain and perimenopause. I hadn’t been on birth control prior to this in about 23 years. Overall, I am very pleased, but I was patient. My body took 3 months to adjust to this pill. In that 3 months, I had terrible mood swings, and I felt kind of down all the time. I don’t have a sad or depressed personality, so this was hard to deal with. I did not gain any weight. I did not have any breakthrough bleeding. And I have not had a period since I started it. So all good with those positive side effects. Around month 3, the sad/moody cloud lifted, and I started feeling normal again. Now, a few weeks later, I’m back to normal, being positive and living a full life. But it took time and patience. Not just 2 months. Wait the full 3 months and get lots of exercise."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill since my gyno decided my BP was too high for the estrogen one. It's been a year and a half because she refuses to switch me, and I do not want to get pregnant, or else I would just stop taking it altogether. I have had so much weight gain, mood swings more than normal, periods that come and go every other week some months, and then no periods for a couple of months. I am so over this pill, as soon as I can get a tubal scheduled or get my husband scheduled for a vasectomy, I'm done!!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Slynd for 13 months and no pregnancy. I am militaristic about taking it at the same time every day, though. I really wanted this to work because outside of breakthrough bleeding and mood swings, this was fine. I thought I could handle it. But I have periods 2x a month, and I have developed depression accompanied by massive mood swings. I scare myself sometimes. I am not this person, I feel lethargic and out of it, no emotion outside of the crazy mood swings (my poor husband)."

For Birth Control "I have been on Slynd now for 3 months and can’t stand it! I was previously on Yasmin, and a new doctor convinced me to give Slynd a try due to the fact that it is estrogen-free. The first month was fine. The second month, I began bleeding heavily for two weeks, just one week after my normal cycle, and have been spotting ever since. I have been irritable, super sensitive, and emotional. I understand the benefits of being estrogen-free but not at the sake of my sanity."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Slynd because I wasn’t a good candidate for an estrogen birth control. I have been on it for about 2 months, and it’s not terrible, but I’m switching birth controls anyway because of some negatives. First, let me list the positives: I haven’t experienced intense mood swings, if any at all, and no hair loss or cramps/nausea. However, here are the negatives I’ve experienced: my acne has progressively gotten worse, where my face just hurts, and I developed bad acne on my neck. I have also experienced light spotting the entire week before my period starts, however, it did make my period lighter."

For Birth Control "I have been using this birth control for about nine months now. I went on it because my last one was making me have terrible mood swings and depression. This birth control has allowed me to balance my emotions but has also made my cycle very painful and irregular. I don't know if I should continue to look for another one."

For Birth Control "After trying so many combo birth control pills for years with bad experiences, I was scared to try Slynd. I'm so glad I gave it a try. I have endometriosis, so I have to take it continuously. Slynd works so well with me - no PMDD, no cramps, no bleeding, no acne, no bloating! I am losing weight too. My appetite is normal. I always drink plenty of water, so I'm never thirsty on Slynd either. It has uplifted my mood, and everything finally feels just right. I believe this is the birth control that fits me."

For Birth Control "I have been on Slynd for three months and no period at all. I have increased acne, no weight change up or down, but I have been overly emotional and anxious. I went from having my period, like clockwork, with no side effects to a confusing mess. My NP prescribed this because I am 46 and had a high blood pressure reading in her office. She said my other pill could cause a stroke, so she wanted to switch me to Slynd. She said as a plus I would lose weight and not have acne. I am just really annoyed that I don't know when or if I am supposed to have a period and that I get unexplained sadness leading me to cry for no reason. I told my NP about the side effects, and she said just give it a little longer."

For Birth Control "I gave this pill 3 months to try until my doctor recommended I stop. It had been 10 years since I went on birth control, so my body kind of rejected it. I instantly began breakthrough bleeding and wasn't able to have any semblance of a sex life or just clean underwear. But I was willing to work with that, as I thought it would correct itself eventually. The whole three months on this pill, I bled every day. And skipping my sugar pills made it worse. I didn't have a full period, but I was bleeding enough to have to wear a tampon. However, the biggest pitfall was the serious mood changes. I became a daily crier and felt like I needed a therapist. I'm usually a very optimistic person, so this was new. The only reason I gave it a 2/10 is because I lost 5 lbs while on it. But I don't recommend this pill just to drop some weight."

For Birth Control "So I have endometriosis. And I've been on a lot of birth controls. I've tried Depo in both the shot and the pill form. This pill has worked extremely well for me. I don't take the placebo pills and haven't had a period in 6 months. Mood is eh, energy is nonexistent, but the last pill I tried was Ashlyna, and that stuff was absolute rubbish. I felt like rubbish and my back pain skyrocketed terribly. So this Slynd is alright, I suppose."

For Birth Control "I had to switch BC after 6 years of taking the combination pill because I suddenly started to experience aura migraines. My last oral contraceptive option was Slynd, so I gave it a try. I am quitting after a month. The main reason: I missed my period. I don't like to miss a period. It triggers my anxiety. I am even still recovering from my last anxiety attack that lasted 3 days because of this problem. I just need a confirmation that I am not pregnant, so I rely on the withdrawal bleeding every month. If you feel the same way, I wouldn't recommend this pill. My mood also changed throughout the month, not for the better. Felt a bit more depressed than usual, lol."
