For Birth Control "I’ve had heavy periods and terrible acne for most of my adult life. I was on Yaz for 8 years with no problem. Once I hit 31, I had terrible mood swings and went into a deep depression. I got off Yaz and felt like myself again. The acne and heavy periods came back, but I was terrified of getting back on a pill with estrogen. I tried every holistic remedy you could think of, but it only got worse over time. At 34, my doctor recommended Slynd, so I decided to give it a try. Within a few weeks, my acne completely disappeared. I had irregular bleeding for the first two months accompanied by breast tenderness, but since then, my period has completely disappeared. I’ve been on it for 7 months, and I haven’t experienced any other side effects. No weight gain. No mood swings. I will add that it took about 3-4 months for my body to fully adjust to it (I had some random spotting here and there). Highly recommend!"

For Birth Control "I have endometriosis, and this pill was recommended to me because I was having a lot of breakthrough bleeding and spotting between periods, and I also have a history of cysts. I’ve been on many pills throughout the years, and this by far has been the worst experience. I would not recommend this to my worst enemy. I started bleeding immediately the first day I took it and never stopped for almost 2 months. The doctor said to give it 3 months for my body to adjust, but I couldn’t do it. I gave up about 2 months in because I was also having headaches, bloating, anxiety, trouble sleeping, and severe mood changes. I did not feel like myself and was either crying for no reason or raging in anger with both, not like me. I stopped at the end of December, and my periods have still been off. I bled from mid-January to mid-February, and now in March, I didn’t get my period at all. I suspect this is now my body re-adjusting from being off this pill, so beware if you’re going to try it."

For Birth Control "Been bleeding for 10 days. My face has gone to absolutely crap. My back feels broken, and the level of fatigue is as bad as my worst PMDD week, just like when I was on Yaz. Wish I could stick it out for 3 months, but absolutely cannot. Gosh, is it so heartbreaking to overcome your fear to try a new pill only to be utterly disappointed."

"I've been on Slynd 4 mg now for almost 5 full months, and I have loved the results! The first 2 months, I didn't have a period at all. When I did have one, it was very light, with minimal cramping, although, I did have that light bleeding for about 8 days. The following period was 2 days and very light, with next to no cramping. I used to have debilitating cramps that put me out of work for a couple of days and very heavy bleeding, so this has been a life changer for me. I haven't had any PMS symptoms, like food cravings, mood swings, or fatigue either. I hope this helps other women the way it's helped me!"

For Birth Control "I started Slynd in early to mid-June and had a pretty steady flow for three weeks. I started spotting, if not every day, then once every other day in July. The last week of July, I had a steady to heavy flow for almost a month. I stopped Slynd 4 days shy of it being a full month of bleeding. I took my last pill one week ago, and I’m still bleeding. To have bled as much as I have bled these past few months has been emotionally and physically unbearable. The way this birth control works is compulsory abstinence because it’s impossible to have a sexual life with this amount of bleeding."

For Birth Control "Horrible! Previously, I had Mirena (3 times) with minor issues that I didn't think outweighed the benefits. I have 3 children and wanted to try regular birth control. I started with Northindrone because I wanted a progestin-only option. However, I got off it after 6 weeks due to severe mood swings and no change in my period. Then I started Slynd. Mind you, the goal was to get rid of PMS and heavy bleeding. I started Slynd about a week before my period was due. In the first few weeks, I didn't experience any significant side effects. However, my period started one day late (despite not taking the green tablets, so I shouldn't have had one at all), and it lasted for 16 days. After that, I started another period just 3 weeks later, and I'm currently still on it. During the entirety of this time (3.24 packs), starting from about a week before the 16-day period, I have been plagued with intrusive thoughts of harm, daily severe anxiety and panic attacks, constant mood swings, irritability, and crying. Additionally, I have experienced a loss of sex drive, extreme hunger (resulting in a 3 lb weight gain), cravings, general exhaustion, breast pain, and bleeding. I have made the decision to go back to Mirena on Thursday. My advice is to stay away from Slynd!"

For Birth Control "I have been on Slynd for 7 months now. Previously, I have had Nexplanon for 3 years. I liked it, but I did not get a new one inserted because I was tired of the irregular bleeding. I tried the NuvaRing but only kept it in for a week because I was having horrible mood swings and suicidal ideation. I really wanted a regular period, which is why I chose this pill. While I like Slynd, I have not had a single period since I started using it, which kind of freaks me out sometimes, so I have a 100-pack of pregnancy tests on hand just in case-thankfully, none have ever been positive. I also sometimes miss a pill, and that has never been a problem. I have occasional light cramping. I haven’t really noticed a difference in my mood, skin, or libido either."

For Birth Control "First of all, I really hoped that this would work for me, but it didn't. I was taking this to suppress my endometriosis. I am 35, and this is the first BC I have been on. My first three weeks were fine, and I was optimistic because of no cramping and no endo pain. Then came my second packet. I started to have breakthrough bleeding. More than just spotting. I am severely anemic due to having endo for so many years. Needless to say, I started feeling absolutely awful due to the constant bleeding. I had to quit my job because I could no longer handle the long commute due to weakness from bleeding so much. Luckily, I found a job closer to home. I actually stuck it out with Slynd for 6 months to give it a fair chance. The final straw came when I started noticing that I was feeling incredibly down about weight gain and the never-ending bleeding. I was breaking down every day. I should have stopped taking it after month 3 instead of month 6. I put myself through too much giving this a chance."

For Birth Control "I would never recommend this to anyone. I have been taking this pill for 2 months, and I feel horrible. I started my period on the 27th of July. Today is the 22nd of the next month. My period has almost been on for a month. I really would never have taken this pill if I knew all this bleeding was going to occur. I suffer from fibroids, which had given me low iron. Messing with this pill, I am pretty sure I will need another iron infusion."

For Birth Control "I’ve never left a review on anything before, but this birth control is horrible. I’m 4 months PP, and I’ve been on this for 3 months. There’s only 1 week out of every month that I’m not bleeding. Cramps are still there. My bloating is horrible. I’m more depressed than ever, and it’s a weird kind of depression, like I just feel blank and feel like I can’t speak comfortably. I feel all zoned out and thoughtless. I’ve struggled with depression before, but never like this. Now that I’m reading all these reviews, I’m realizing it’s this birth control that’s causing me to feel this way. I’m nauseous pretty much every day. I’ve been lashing out over everything. Like really lashing out with some serious anger. I’m irritable, even toward people who are simply just talking around me. Yeah, it’s not a good birth control. At all. I’m stopping it tomorrow."

For Birth Control "I started the first pack of Slynd during my period, and I had spotting after 2 weeks of the pack for about a week, and then I got my period with the placebo pills, as expected, for about 4 days. During my second pack, I had about 4 days of spotting and some bleeding, but then I skipped my period at the end of the 2nd pack (during the placebos), and then on the 3rd pack, I didn't have any spotting or breakthrough bleeding until 2 days before the placebos of that pack. So I was clean for about 5 weeks straight, which was exciting. But now I am on my 4th pack, and I had heavy breakthrough bleeding only a week after my period ended, and I am still waiting for the spotting to stop a week later. The nurse at my gyno practice said it could take up to 6 months for my body to get used to the pill. It has been pretty concerning, given that naturally my period cycle was very consistent and regular. I haven't had any other side effects from Slynd other than the irregular bleeding/spotting."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Slynd after my doctor found my BP high during an office visit, and my readings at home were high also. I was on Yaz for several years before Slynd. I had withdrawal bleeding on Yaz during the inactive pills. When my doctor switched me to Slynd, I was dreading the breakthrough bleeding I knew I was probably going to have. My first month, I had no breakthrough bleeding and no period! I have now been on Slynd for 6 months and have experienced no breakthrough bleeding, and my periods have stopped! It has been wonderful for me! I am 42 and was a long time user of combo birth control pills/ring since age 17 due to heavy periods. I always had a period on the combo pills, and some months, I still had very heavy periods while on the combo pills. Slynd has been an easy transition for me and has had an added bonus of having no bleeding. I do get some slight cramping during the 4 days of inactive pills, but no bleeding or spotting at all!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this birth control Slynd since the beginning of the year. It started out great. Very light periods, little to no cramping. I had breakthrough bleeding a couple of times, but I figured my body was just adjusting. It’s now October, and I feel so awful. I have been breakthrough bleeding for a week and a half, on and off, with a wide range of heaviness and clots. My cramps are getting worse and worse, and I feel like there’s no end in sight. I thought something was wrong with my body, but after reading these reviews, I can confidently say that it is from Slynd. This is the first progestin-only pill I’ve been on, as I am usually on a combined pill. I didn’t do any research before starting this pill; my doctor suggested it, and I decided to try it. I know every body is different, but in the past couple of months, I have had nothing but painful periods, cramping, and breakthrough bleeding. I’m not pregnant, though, so I guess it’s been working."

For Birth Control "Slynd definitely doesn't work for me. My OB recommended it because I get really sick on my period the first day or two of every month's cycle. She said she recommended this birth control for women in their late 30s and early 40s (me), and that most women said it basically removed their period completely and they had no pain/sickness anymore. I went from having a 4-day period (with only one heavy sick day) to having a period the majority of every month... heavy for over 2 weeks at a time too! The first month I felt so sick on it and had really heavy bleeding. I pushed through and was encouraged to stick with it for 3 months until my body could get used to it. I just finished month 3 and I am stopping. I would rather be sick one day a month than have a period almost every day of the month!!!"

For Birth Control "Absolutely awful. This is the first time I've taken Slynd, and it has given me nothing but problems. I have cramps every day. My headaches were the reason I had to change my meds, and they have gotten much worse. I'm so bloated and feeling icky. Not to mention, my irritability has never been this bad. It doesn't help that I've been bleeding every day since I've started this. 0/10. Would never recommend to anyone for anything. I wish I had never started taking these meds."

For Birth Control "Terrible experience. I started this birth control in February. The doctor warned me that I’d have irregular bleeding for the first few months, and that’s normal (my body adjusting to the pills), but it is now August, and I’m still having irregular bleeding. Since beginning, it’s been a pattern of bleeding times and short times of me actually off my cycle. Isn’t it supposed to be the other way around? That’s 2 weeks of me bleeding and just about 2 or 3 days off me not bleeding. I’ve wasted so much money on pads and tampons. I’ve ruined so many panties. Don’t even get me started on my sex life. Do not take this. You’ll definitely regret it."

For Birth Control "My insurance covers it, which is great. I took it for 12 days, and Slynd is not right for me. I have migraines caused by estrogen, thus, my Dr. prescribed the Mirena in 2015. After 3 months, I got cystic acne. It was awful. I eventually had it removed and took spironolactone to get the acne under control even after having the IUD removed. Fast forward to last month. I had been on Nuvaring for over a year and LOVED it. However, I was getting occasional migraines. My Dr. suggested I switch to Slynd, given that it is progesterone-based but will not cause acne. I was hesitant but was willing to try it. I had extreme breakthrough bleeding. I am not talking spotting, I am talking the bad kind. I also started getting cystic acne all over again. I had crazy dreams. My eyes were so dry. I did not have any emotional effects. My Dr. told me to continue taking it to get over the transition, but I stopped it. I would much rather have a migraine than the acne that took a year to get under control before."

"Didn't work for me. Extremely heavy and prolonged bleeding for 21 days kept me unable to participate in life and led to serious anemia. My hemoglobin crashed from a very good 13.8 to a low 8.7 in just over two weeks. According to online calculators, I must have lost close to 1.5 liters of blood. Symptoms got worse and worse, I couldn't work, take care of the household, shop, or walk the stairs without dizziness, heart racing, nausea, and headaches, and went through immense amounts of hygiene products. My doctor initially did not take me seriously, saying there couldn't be a connection between the pill and this heavy bleeding. They finally took a blood test on day 16. I stopped taking Slynd on day 17, and two days later the bleeding faded and stopped. At that point, I was so mentally and physically exhausted, all I could do was sleep all day. Now slowly recovering with iron supplements, it will probably take another month or two to get back to my normal iron levels. Crazy."

For Birth Control "I'm 41, and I started taking this pill in June of 2022. I was recently diagnosed with PCOS, and I had been having some pain and an irregular period, and I've never taken birth control pills before. The first month was horrendous, but it could have just been because of the PCOS. I bled very heavily for 23 days. I felt very light-headed, bloated, moody, and was having to constantly go to the bathroom. My doctor, when I called to say, is this normal, ended up upping my dosage to taking two a day until the heavy bleeding stopped. Day 23, after taking two pills a day for an entire week, it finally stopped. Since then, I haven't had a period, no cramps, no bloating, and I felt great. I lost weight, I don't have any mood issues, and I have so much more energy. Next week, we decide if I continue it going forward, and I love it so far. Works for me."

For Birth Control "Just starting my third pack of Slynd. I haven’t had any spotting or bleeding since I started. I skipped the placebo pills on my first pack and took them with my second pack, but haven’t had any period symptoms, which has been strange. I was put on Slynd due to my blood pressure being a bit high, so my doctor said this pill, Slynd, does not affect it as much as other birth control pills. After reading some of these comments, I’m not sure that she was truthful in that statement, but so far it’s been okay."
