For Birth Control "I've been on Yaz, or a generic of Yaz like Vestura, since I was in middle school. I'm 27 now, and this is still the only birth control that my body seems to agree with. I tried Ortho Tri-Cyclen at one point, which made me depressed and gain weight. I also tried the copper IUD, thinking it was better for me to be off of hormones and 'all natural.' That just led to extreme cramps and heavy periods, and also all of my teenage acne came back in my mid-20s! So, I decided to go back to the tried-and-true Yaz generic. I think everybody is a little different, so you just have to find the right birth control for you. This brand is a little higher in hormones, which I think my body actually does well with. My periods are extremely light, where I only have to wear a panty liner for a couple of days. Also, no more hormonal acne! I also think it makes my boobs a little bigger, which is a plus for me."

For Birth Control "I just got switched to Vestura 3 months ago after being on a different birth control for 4.5 years. I had to switch because my health insurance no longer covered a single penny of my birth control. The only benefit of Vestura is that it is 100% covered. However, since starting this medication 3 months ago, I have gained 10 pounds, I have debilitating migraines every day, I am constantly nauseous, I have acne worse than a prepubescent teenager, and I have hardly stopped bleeding since being on it. I have an extremely severe case of PCOS, so switching to a generic birth control like Vestura was definitely not a good idea."

For Birth Control "I have been on birth control for over 5 years due to a BRCA diagnosis, and this is by far the absolute worst brand ever. My pharmacy started giving me a different generic of the one I was previously on, and it was the worst 4 months (insurance wouldn't cover another pack, and buying one was too expensive). I went from having almost no period symptoms on Lornya to being in bed for 4 days, puking, and the worst cycles since I first started having them. I gained 10 pounds in the first 2 months of the pack and was having mood swings all the time. Maybe it was because I switched brands, but this was miserable, and I hope other women can avoid it."
