For Acne "I have suffered from acne for years. I've tried almost everything, and nothing seemed to work, so my dermatologist put me on Loryna. The good thing about Loryna is it did help with my acne. I would still get the occasional pimple, but my breakouts weren't as bad as they were before. The bad thing about Loryna is it made me gain a lot of weight and gave me horrible mood swings. It made me obsessed with food. I would be extremely hungry throughout the day and get anxious if I didn't get the chance to eat when I wanted. Also, it made me so much more irritable. I would get mad very easily and snap at people. I ended up going off of the pill because, although it helped with my acne, the weight gain and mood swings weren't worth it."

For Birth Control "It took me a few tries to get the right birth control for my body, and once I found Loryna, it was perfect! All my acne disappeared, I went from an AA cup to a B cup in bra size, and it made my painful and irregular periods go away and made them bearable and regular. I never had any mood swings, just normal PMS like everyone has. Slight weight gain, but it went away after a month. This pill also goes well with the anxiety medication I take, so I highly recommend it."

For Birth Control "I have been on Sprintec and Zovia, and I never, ever had a problem with birth control. I asked my doctor to switch to Nikki (or generic) because I was not getting my period every month with Zovia, and it was kind of freaking me out because I am sexually active, and that’s how I know if I am in the clear. Once she switched me to Loryna, I was very miserable. My mood was insane, I was crying and annoyed at any little thing. I had no control of my emotions. My stomach was also so messed up, and I had a splitting headache. I know birth control is different for everyone, but damn, I have never felt a reaction like this. I'm switching back to Zovia immediately."

For Acne "So far, I've only been on Loryna for a month now, but I think I need to find a new brand. I was prescribed this because my acne has been terrible for the past 6 months, and since going on it, nothing has gotten any better, in fact, my chin actually looks worse. However, my biggest problem is the mood changes. I snap at everything, and I'm always angry. I'm never like this, I've always had an amazing relationship with my parents, and since going on the pill, they've threatened to kick me out because of how bad my mood has been. Additionally, since going on the pill, I've had my period the entire month. I'm not sure if that is normal or not, but I'm tired of all the negative side effects."

For Birth Control "I will start this off by saying everyone's body is different, and I am thrilled for the people this drug worked for! However, that was not the case for me. Switched from Blisovi to Yaz and finally to Loryna due to insurance issues, and have never felt worse than I have while on Loryna. While taking this drug, I experienced depression, hypomanic episodes, crying spells throughout the day, decreased sex drive, and really just not liking the world. I know it takes a while to adjust, but after only 1 week on this pill, I have thrown my entire supply in the trash can. Take this review with a grain of salt and don't be scared to try it, but if you start experiencing PMS symptoms all day, every day, just throw them away, not worth it when there are so many other options out there. Good luck, guys."

For Birth Control "I was on this BC for three months (they tell you to wait three months to test it out). The first month consisted of horrible mood swings and headaches. For the past two months, I have been bleeding brown blood discharge daily, and my acne has gotten ten times worse. I had acne before I started Loryna, but by the third month mark, I had cystic acne on my chest and back. PAINFUL acne. I am going to my gyno tomorrow to switch."

For Birth Control "I was on the implant for 3 years after getting diagnosed with PCOS. I bled constantly. I had a horrible mood, acne, etc. My OBGYN uses this for 'her PCOS girls' and pretty much has had success with all. This pill has changed my life. Anyone experiencing PCOS, look into L."

For Birth Control "I was on Loryna for about a year and a half! I started taking it because of extremely painful periods and as a form of protection. Before, I would have to stay home for the first three days of my period because the cramps would be so bad that I couldn’t move, and I’d cry for most of the day and sometimes vomit. Taking pain meds did not help. After going on Loryna, the cramps didn’t get that much better. But I was at least able to go places, and they only lasted about a day and a half. I was also able to get more relief through pain meds. So it did make it more bearable, and I also had no pregnancy scares, so that’s good! But I also became extremely emotional at all times, as in crying at basically everything, so that was kinda annoying. I didn’t experience any other side effects, though. I ultimately had to go off it because I just couldn’t remember to take it every day, lol."

For Birth Control "This is the second birth control pill I tried after the first gave me very bad mood swings immediately. I’ve been on this for about a year and a half now, and my periods are short and I know exactly when I am going to get it every month with no spotting in between. It has been like this since I started it. It also really helped with acne. I never got acne very bad, but I would always have a few spots. Now I very rarely break out, and when I do, it’s usually not that bad, and I barely take care of my skin. The only bad thing I’ve noticed is how it’s affected my sex drive. I had no problem with it before I started this a few months after starting my current long-term relationship, and everything was great at first, but about 6 months after being on it, I had absolutely no sex drive anymore. A year after that, it is starting to come back, but I’ve had to take measures to help myself. Overall, I like this birth control, and it hasn’t caused any problems that negatively affect my life."

For Birth Control "I have been on Loryna for over 4 months now, and my experience has been great. Previously, I was on a generic of Sprintec and had issues with nausea, vomiting, mood swings, and difficulty losing weight. Since I've switched to Loryna, all of those problems have disappeared, and I have no side effects! This HBC works great for me (21, 155 lb, active lifestyle), and I’d recommend it to anyone interested!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on BC before but had issues with depression. I tried Loryna and am 2 months in and can’t take it anymore! I have had headaches, probably gained weight, increased hunger, depression worse than I’ve ever experienced-crying over absolutely nothing off and on the first month, then it stopped for a few weeks and it’s back worse than ever with intense mood swings! I have had brain fog, fatigue, and the mood swings/irritability that happened in the 2nd month have affected my life and relationships! I feel unable to control my emotions and I’m sure I seem crazy to the guy I recently started seeing! I hope this pill hasn’t ruined my relationship, but I know it’s made me a crying, irritated, bloated lunatic! I’ve worked hard to be an easygoing, emotionally stable adult, but this pill makes me feel like I’m 2 sheets to the wind ugly crying and angry like I’m on a whisky bender. I don’t even drink anymore. I do not recommend!"

For Birth Control "I have taken two other kinds of birth control that gave me negative side effects, so I decided to switch to Loryna, which is the worst decision of my life! The first week, I had terrible nausea and couldn’t eat anything, and I have also been dealing with depression, bad mood swings, low energy, headaches, and irritability. It did make me lose weight, but there’s no way I’m staying on it due to all of the other side effects. If you’ve had issues with other kinds, this is ten times worse."

For Birth Control "I took this pill for 2 1/2 years. It was great the entire time I was on it, up until the last 3 months. Before these last 3 months, my acne breakouts were greatly reduced, my period would last 5-8 days with no pain, cramps, or a very heavy flow. I had no mood swings, headaches, or anything of that nature. I don’t remember if there was any initial weight gain, but I’ve been in the same 10-pound weight fluctuation over the duration of taking this birth control. There were a few times I didn’t have protected sex, and out of those few times, I never got pregnant. I would give it a 10 if it weren’t for these last 3 months, where my period has slowly turned into a longer duration (the only change). My last period was almost 3 weeks long (no pain, just a LONG, heavy flow). But I used to love this medication. I would recommend it with warning!"

For Acne "This is my first time on BC, so I don’t really have anything to compare it to. It made me throw up when I first started taking it, but I found that if I took it at night with food, I had no problems with getting sick. Helped my acne a ton! Did get pretty crazy mood swings though."

For Menstrual Disorders "I highly dislike this BC! My doctor prescribed me Loryna because I have PCOS causing irregular periods. So I decided to try so that I can regulate my period, and it has been hell! I have been really emotional, literally crying about everything. I get really crazy breakdowns to where I'll sit in my car and cry for almost an hour. I fight with my husband over the most stupid things. I overthink about everything. Because of being depressed, I turned to marijuana to cope. It is not me to feel depressed or to feel as if I want to hurt myself. The first time I got my period, my cramps were so painful to where I didn't want to move. I had a huge blood clot that came out, which never happens. Ever since taking this pill, my face has been covered in acne."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I was prescribed this medication for severe PMDD and severe dysmenorrhea. I have only been on this medication for 2 weeks so far, and I have not had any noticeable (I also take citalopram 10-20 mg QD) side effects either other than a bit more frequent urination. I have naturally clear skin, but it seems to almost have a glow to it now, though honestly. I did have about 4 days of mild spotting/bleeding initially, but no cramping really, and that has stopped. I have mood swings, but I have those off of the birth control, so they haven't gotten any worse or better. I tried to stop the citalopram to see what Loryna would do on its own, and I had HORRIBLE withdrawal side effects. I don't advise anybody to cold turkey stop that medication while also on a hormonal birth control or period. I rated Loryna an 8 because I don't know how I will feel 2 more months down the road. I have a history of truly bad mental health side effects from hormonal birth control. Will update then."

For Birth Control "I literally could not rate this any lower. It's the first birth control pill I've taken that didn't improve my periods. I've gone back to having irregular, long periods, just like before the pill. I've also gained a significant amount of weight and had mood swings and a heavily decreased sex drive. It just didn't work for me at all."

For Acne "This pill made me admit myself to the hospital. I've been on and off BC pills for a while because I never really found one that helped my acne, and the side effects were usually depression and mood swings. My doctor prescribed Loryna to me for my blemishes and back acne, and it was wonderful for the first two months, seeing that my skin started glowing within the first week! I also lost weight because of a little nausea, but that was nothing to me. Headaches began after the first month, but I knew they would go away soon, as they did. So everything seemed to be perfect until I woke up suddenly one early morning with severe, awful, terrible stomach pain and thought I was going to die on the toilet in cold sweats. It's in the trash now."

For Birth Control "I had no initial issues with Loryna, but 6 months in I started to notice different changes with my body. My cycle was off, my mood was terrible, low libido, and my breasts were larger. Overall, I just did not feel like myself. I shared my concerns with my gyno, and she said that my body was 'adjusting.' This didn't make sense because at the time I was 36 and had been on birth control before. You adjust the first 6 months, but not after taking it for 6 months. Needless to say, I had an abnormal pap. I stopped taking Loryna immediately. 6 months later, after stopping Loryna, colposcopy and folic acid... my pap was normal again. Unfortunately, I also found a lump in my breast. LADIES, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM TAKING THIS GARBAGE. It is not worth surgery, chemo, radiation, or the lifelong worry of dying from cancer."

For Birth Control "Loryna was the first-ever birth control I've ever taken, and I've been using it for around five months. At first, I had nausea spells, and my boobs were really tender, but that went away within the first month or so. Before taking it, I had the worst cramps imaginable, and there was never a time when my skin was clear. Since taking it, my periods are light, I don't cramp at all, my skin has cleared up tremendously (still breaking out on chin/cheeks a bit, but that could be from me wearing a mask at school/work/etc.). My boobs actually went up a cup size. The reason I'm actually switching to another pill, though, is because of my mood swings and the weight gain. I have been extra irritable and sensitive to the point where I don't know how I acted before the pill, and since taking the pill, I've gained 15 pounds. I am scared of switching since Loryna was good for me, but I want to see if there is a pill that will help my mood, clear my skin up more, and get myself back to my regular weight."

For Birth Control "I haven’t gotten pregnant, I did gain like 5 pounds, but probably from quarantine, and I have taken it off now. I don’t think it has affected my hunger. I have so much more hormonal acne though, which was the purpose of taking this pill. I get monthly periods, but on the like 5th day of the inactive pills, or when the inactive pill week is over, it’s so weird. It took a whole year for the cramps and period to get lighter. I didn’t notice right away, but I think my mood swings are from this pill. Whenever my period is coming, I feel like I need therapy and can’t control the way I behave to my boyfriend or family. I'm finally switching to Tri Lo Sprintec next month to give it a go. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll go over to Junel Fe. I took that one for 3 years and felt fine, and the only reason I switched was because I hoped it would clear my acne and improve my periods. While it did help the periods, it took so long to work."

For Birth Control "I have endometriosis, only hormonal acne, and Loryna is the best! I used to have extremely painful periods, but now I don't have a period at all and no acne whatsoever. I didn't notice weight gain at all or really any change in my mood. Obviously, the first 1-3 months were a bit emotional and moody, but after that, it's been great! I've been on it for about 7-8 months now, take the pill every night at bedtime, and I skip the white pills so I don't have a period. But there is one downside, I have zero sex drive. I'm 20, in a great healthy relationship, and normally have a pretty high sex drive with my partner. Now I'm bone dry all the time, and it is very rare when I get in the mood. I want to have sex, however, my body and brain just do not react or get in the mood the way they used to. One more thing to mention from my experience, my body does have to have a period every 3-4 months. I spot for a week and must stop to have a natural period. This is okay with me, but others might not like that."

For Acne "I had tried just about everything for acne, from topical creams to antibiotics. I had been on various different antibiotics for acne over the past four years and was ready to stop always taking antibiotics that never truly cleared my skin fully anyway. It's my second month on Yaz, and I've noticed improvement in my skin without taking the antibiotics. The first month, I had a pretty bad breakout, mood swings, bad cramping, and cravings. I noticed a sort of constant breast tenderness and swelling, but especially so nearing my period. My sex drive has also significantly decreased, and in the first month, I would actually cry for no reason at all (moodiness). The best part is that my insurance covers this completely. I pay nothing out of pocket."
