For Acne "Only got a 5 because it worked amazingly with my cystic acne, but after almost 3 months, the side effects have become unbearable. My chest and throat hurt like hell, swallowing water feels like I tried to eat a Brillo pad. I've been avoiding eating because it hurts so much. Doctor took me off it, but says my body has to heal on its own. If you start having stomach problems, beware. I told my doctor and she said to take it with food and I'll be fine. BULL! This throat and chest pain is almost as bad as when I got my tonsils out. My primary care recommended birth control as an alternative. We'll see how that works."

For Acne "Today I'm starting doxycycline. I was prescribed it because of my cystic acne that only developed because of my birth control I was on. I had the arm implant. The worst decision of my life. I will check back in in 2 weeks to let you know how it worked for me. Please take with food or else it will cause stomach aches."

For Bacterial Infection "I'm on doxycycline for my 2nd time in just over 1 year, and I've not had any issues with this medication. My reasons for taking it are for a reoccurring infection called MRSA, and it seems that everyone has this, but certain things trigger it, like cigarette smoking and nerves, among other activities, consult your doctor. Doxycycline is pretty simple and straightforward. My doctor said the 1st day to take 2 at once, then follow the next and following days with 2 daily, but take one in the AM followed by dose 2 in PM, and if there are any stomach issues, try eating a small meal or a snack with the pill. Just make sure you're taking the pills close to the same time every time, that'll give you the best results and cause a small build-up to get rid of any infection that's listed. Any side effects or serious effects, see your doctor, other than that, I've never had an issue or side effects with this."

For Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "Completed 2-week 50 mg bid dosage; still occasionally cough up yellowish/green phlegm. Doctor said to take with food to avoid upset stomach, yet one reviewer says doctor told her to take 2 hours before or after food. Hers worked; mine seemingly didn't. Some stomach cramping and constipation."

For Acne "My experience with doxycycline has been pretty positive so far. It’s been a week since I started, and my skin has already been looking better. There are most definitely side effects, been having really bad stomach issues, kind of makes you drowsy and nauseous. I take it at night so I can just fall asleep with it. In my case, there was a little bit of a purging, but not much. I know that doxycycline is not a long-term solution, but I am really grateful that I was able to be prescribed this medication because my acne was becoming worse and worse."

For Acne "So I am on day 2 of doxycycline. I have had acne for almost a year now, it went from moderate to severe. That's when I decided to go to a dermatologist. So I haven't had any side effects. Eating a big meal and drinking a lot of water with the pill helps from having nausea and stomach aches. Well, I will check in in a few weeks about my progress."

For Acne "I just finished 1 week of the doxy therapy. My derm prescribed it for 3 months. I don't see a major difference, but I'm hopeful. It's only been a week, and my derm said it would take about 2-3 months to see improvement. It cleared up the cystic acne on my cheeks and chin, but I've gotten huge breakouts on my forehead and chest. It upsets my stomach a little, but I have tried to avoid dairy immediately before taking doxy."
