For High Blood Pressure "I am on 2mg of Doxazosin, and it seems to reduce my blood pressure. Side effects are horrendous though. Exhaustion like you have the flu or are approaching the end of life. When I first started on them, I couldn't even walk from my car to my office without feeling like I was about to collapse and breathless. I know for sure it is them as I have come off them myself several times, and I am back to normal."

For High Blood Pressure "An awful drug. It caused me severe anxiety, and it makes your heart go like the clappers, even on a low dose! Other side effects I experienced were shortness of breath and a fluttering heartbeat. It's time this dangerous drug was taken off the market."

For High Blood Pressure "Started with 4 mg doxazosin + 2 mg bendroflumethiazide. BP not under control. Over the years, the dosage of doxazosin was increased to 2 x 4 mg in the morning taken with 1 Bendro and then another 4 mg of Dox at night. I don't feel dizzy, but have shortness of breath, sometimes think I forget to breathe (?), feeling of anxiousness in my chest, which eases off a little with deep breaths. Out and about during the day I feel fine. The shortness of breath/anxiety is noticeable when resting."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "While taking this medication, I suffered from all of the side effects, except for the long or painful erection. I had trouble sleeping, was agitated, and irritable. I thought maybe it was due to my chemical imbalance, which it may have been, but those symptoms were exacerbated by this drug to the point of continued stress and disquieted behavior. Other symptoms include tightness in the chest resembling asthma symptoms or bronchial distress, along with the sinus problems mentioned in the side effects."

"I would strongly caution against taking this medication for kidney stones. I was prescribed 4 mg daily for seven days for the treatment of kidney stones. I passed the stones, returned to work, and five days later, my blood pressure dropped so low I passed out three times, I thought I was having a heart attack. I had numbness and tingling in my right arm, shortness of breath, my heart was racing, I vomited, passed out, and nearly pooped myself. I am still experiencing soreness in my heart, and my tongue is dry. Don't take this unless you want a trip to the ER."
