Diethylpropion for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Best diet pill so far. I've been on 25mg twice a day for a week and I'm loving it. I'm usually not good on any medication. Even some medications for my stomach can make me feel dizzy and weird. I'm so happy with Tenuate. I don't feel anything but a good feeling. I'm way more energetic. My mouth is always dry, but I'm drinking a lot of water, so it's okay. I haven't felt dizzy at all. Haven't had any weird heartbeat. Nothing. I'm eating half of what I was eating before I was put on Tenuate. So far so good!"

The only effect I had was dry mouth, but it went away in two weeks. It makes me full of energy. I'm never tired at all, and I work long days. When I started I was 280, and I've lost 22 pounds in one month. The big thing is motivation. We can all do it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have recently started taking Diethylpropion 75mg extended-release capsule and have lost 31 lbs in 7 weeks...very very happy as you can imagine. I now wait until late morning before taking the pill, otherwise, I find that by mid-afternoon the suppressant has worn off. I follow a very low carb diet, but to be honest, I haven't exercised that much. The only side effect that I have found is a slightly dry mouth, but this made me increase my water intake. I have now stopped my pills due to being near my 'happy weight' (133 lbs + 5'3'') and am finding that I have remained in control, probably due to my stomach having shrunk slightly, and have not gained any weight. I aim to allow myself flexibility of 7 lbs either side of my current weight. Great pill!"

Diethylpropion for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I love this pill. I'm 46, 5'9" and weigh 294 lb when I started back on this pill 9 days ago. Down 10 lbs. I am on a doctor-supervised liquid diet plan. He prescribed me Tenuate because I never forgot this little helper. On the same style diet plan with Tenuate, I lost 90 lbs about 16 years ago. After my weight loss journey 16 years ago, I put back the weight at about 5.5 lbs a year. :-( Well, now I'm back at it, just older now. But this little pill hasn't changed, still great. Minimal side effects. I am experiencing side effects of a dry mouth (so I'm drinking more water) and insomnia. The insomnia isn't crazy, but I'm wide awake for the late, late show, whereas I didn't use to be. I'll take the extra TV time over being overweight any day. Ask your doctor about this pill. It works."

It worked then, and now I'm older and have high blood pressure and a bad back, so I needed a boost again! Still works the same in lowering my hunger, lost 5 lbs in 2 days! 35 lbs more to go, and I'm very confident I'm going to succeed. Mine are 75 mg. No side effects, with the exception of dry mouth. I drink more water."

Diethylpropion for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I just started the time release, this is my third day. I have always been hesitant because about 6 years ago, I started suffering from severe panic attacks, and since then, I have had a hard time with anything that gets my heart rate going or makes my body feel weird, including caffeine. So exercise would trigger panic attacks. I finally got them under control with meds, but I weigh 277 pounds, not a number I usually say out loud. So anyways, I am not having any major jitters or anything, I have dry mouth really bad but can work with it. I do find that I have no appetite and food tastes a little different but not craving to eat all the time. I am down to 269 lbs, which is probably water weight. I am staying hopeful because I really need my life back."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on this medication at 75 mg for two weeks now and have lost 12 lbs. I feel great. There was some side effect the first few days, but all that is left is a dry mouth. But I just drink a lot of water, which is actually good for me because, previously, I was horrible at drinking it. I will be monitored monthly by my doctor to ensure safety and am so far satisfied with the beginning results."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After gaining around 70 pounds during the pregnancy of my daughter, regular diet and exercise just weren't cutting it. I've never taken diet pills before this, but in just 6 days, I've lost 7 1/2 pounds. I do get the dry mouth side effects, slight headaches, and funky vision here and there, but it's working wonders! Diethylpropion for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was just placed on Tenuate 2 days ago by my physician. I have tried many weight loss options but have had no success. I just have no willpower. I am an RN, and reading about this medication, I must say that I am going into it a little frightened. But, if you all can do it... so can I! I was so motivated by your many success stories, I hope that I can be one to post one also. My first day mirrored some in that the dry mouth and jitters are what bothered me. I don't think I will be able to take the medication at work. That will be okay, I don't have much time to think about food anyway. Lol! Best of luck to you all!!!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have tried both diethylpropion and phentermine. The phentermine worked very well! I lost 40 lbs with almost no exercise at all. But I experienced dry mouth and the jitters. On the downside, I loved snacking, and it's usually after dinner or right before. I was taking 30 mg, and I had no cravings for anything! I loved it! So I am now on the diethylpropion 25 mg immediate release, which is not cutting it, and I talked to my doctor, and he increased the dosage to taking 50 mg a day and still not doing the trick just yet. So it's my cravings that are bad, especially around my cycle. I will be maybe trying the 75 mg."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been taking the med for two weeks and five days. In my first week, the side effects were anxiety and sweating. I didn't have dry mouth, but I do now. The second day, I felt depressed, the third day, I was anxious. Then I had mid-cycle bleeding from then on for about four days and was kind of tired, but I also wasn't well, and I have had the contraceptive implant fitted recently, so I wasn't really worried about the odd bleeding as I felt fine in myself. At the end of week one, I had lost 13 lbs, in my second week, I lost 4 lbs, so still a decent loss. I haven't exercised as I've been mad busy, but I will when it becomes hard to lose more weight, then I'll step it up with the exercise. :) It's a 10/10 for me so far, just listen to your body, you know your body best."

Diethylpropion for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking Tenuate for about 3 weeks now, and I have lost 10 lbs so far. That was without watching my diet too much and little to no exercise. I asked the doctor to put me on something to help because I might have to have back surgery. I can't do a lot of cardio aside from walking. He put me on this, and I've been feeling so much better. I sleep great, no side effects aside from dry mouth, and I do get dizzy quite a bit. Definitely makes me not want to eat. In fact, if I go to eat something an hour or so after taking it, I feel like I'll get sick if I keep eating. I know it triggers nerves in your brain, so everyone's reaction will be a little bit different. I don't feel like I'm over-energized or 'spacey'. 20 lbs to go!"

I take half a pill in the morning (10:30) and half in the afternoon (4 PM). I have kept my calories down to 1000 calories and have been very strict with it. I have not started with my exercise yet. The only side effects I have experienced have been a dry and sore mouth, some constipation, and only sleeping about 6 hours at the beginning. I am pleased with my progress so far!"

I will say in the beginning I had a dry mouth, but eventually that went away. Two months later, my doctor switched me to diethylpropion ER, and again nothing. I’m sticking to my 1000-calorie diet, low to no carb, walking and/or working out daily, and a gallon of water a day. First week, 12 pounds, and now 2 pounds, and hungry all the time. For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was only 162 pounds at 5'5" when my doctor put me on diethylpropion. I have anxiety really bad, so she thought this was the best pill. I'm on 75 mg once a day. I take it at 10 a.m. From day one, it instantly stopped my appetite almost completely. I almost have to force myself to eat, and it's very small amounts. In 3 days, I've lost 6 pounds. I have anxiety, insomnia, and severe dry mouth. I drink tons of water. I can barely sleep at all, and when I'm awake, I feel kind of trapped on the couch. Sort of frozen from nervousness. I don't feel like I have a ton of energy, but my appetite is definitely gone. My blood pressure has gone up, and my heart rate has elevated considerably. The anxiety kicks in about 2-3 hours after taking it and subsides around 8-9 hours after taking it. So, the anxiety is gone by bedtime, but the insomnia is still there. Each day seems a little better though. I'm going to stick with it as long as none of the side effects worsen or any new ones arise."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on this diethylpropion medication for 3 weeks now. It gives me energy and has even improved my disposition. I take it around 10 a.m. and usually only have coffee for breakfast, a small lunch, and a little less than normally sized dinner. It has done wonders for my overeating and cravings. After my 1st week, I was down 4 lbs. I have no problem sleeping at night on this and haven't really experienced any side effects except maybe occasional dry mouth. I highly recommend this medication to kickstart your weight loss."

Diethylpropion for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking Tenuate 75 mg once a day for a week. I've lost 7 lbs, I have experienced dry mouth, but I can definitely live with that. In fact, I almost feel sick in the morning if I don't drink 16 oz of water between 6 am and 9 am. I still get hungry, but I get full faster. I keep a bag of organic almonds in my desk and eat 6 to 10 almonds when I get hungry, and that takes care of that problem. This is the first weight loss pill I've ever taken, and I am pleased with it. 40 lbs to go, I hope to reach my goal in 4 months. This first 7 lbs was with only 2 days of exercise and eating semi-healthy."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking diethylpropion 75 mg for 2 weeks and one day, and I have lost 14 pounds. It gives me lots of energy and cuts my cravings for snacks. I weighed 265 pounds when I started, and now I'm down to 251. My goal weight is 225 pounds. I would like to lose more, but I know that I can't take this med for a long period of time. For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Today will be my 3rd day of taking the 75 mg tab. I am using this in conjunction with Weight Watchers and regular exercise. I could tell on the first day that taking it at the beginning of my work shift (7:00 a.m.) was too early, as it started to wear off just before dinner time. I have moved it to taking it at 11:00 a.m., as late afternoon, dinner, and after dinner is what I am trying to control. On the first day, I was sleepy, on the 2nd day, no side effects, no jitters, no heart palpitations, nothing. I feel great and definitely was not hungry. I did have dry mouth (but that only served to help me drink my water) and did not have trouble sleeping. I am very excited about the prospect of this working for me. I have 70 lbs to lose."

Diethylpropion for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am 25 years old, 5 ft 9 in, and weighed 262 lbs when I started Tenuate. I have been on it for 2 weeks now. I have not weighed yet, but I have to make myself eat. At first, I was counting calories but couldn't eat more than 900 calories a day, and that was eating 5 times a day, so I just eat a little here and there. I have only experienced dry mouth. I am very hopeful, I need rid of this weight. Maybe Tenuate will do it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Just started taking the 75 mg tablets daily, about 3 days ago, already have dropped 5 pounds, after just being on a normal diet of not eating as much and losing 85 pounds without the pill. I have found that it makes my cravings completely go away, and I have to make myself eat. I could go all day without eating if I wanted, but you can't lose weight unless you eat something. Only negative side effects were intense dry mouth, a little bit of a headache, which Tylenol can take care of, and my blood pressure skyrocketed a bit."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started gaining weight about 5 years into my marriage and, although relatively tall at 6'4", I hit a peak of 290 lbs and I felt it on my body. I also have fatty liver and chronic pancreatitis, which unfortunately made me unable to take Ozempic and left me only with stimulant options. I started with Adipex 37.5 mg (Phentermine) BID and hated how it made me feel. I moved to Bontril PDM (Phendimetrazine) but felt high and edgy and my husband hated my behavior, so I stopped taking it. After about a month, I met with my weight loss specialist and requested to try Tenuate 25 mg (Diethylpropion) once daily to start. So far, I find it to be way more mild than the other two as well as similar in efficacy. It helps me not overeat and helps me exercise, but I don't feel stimmed out. There is a slight head change but not like Bontril PDM. I do get dry mouth, headaches, as well as an upset stomach, but I should acclimate soon. I am hoping this is the right one for me. Didrex is my final option."
