Reviews for Diethylpropion to treat Obesity
Tenuate (diethylpropion): "Its good for controlling your appetite but there are some other side effects than mentioned above including several joint pain and stiffness of lower jaw which some times feel like its locked specially when I'm dehydrated and it looses its effect over time so its best to start on lower doses"

"I'm five feet and was weighing in at 152lb. I tried diet and exercise but I wasn't losing any weight. I went to a clinic and got this medicine and just four weeks later I'm down to 139. The clinic did tell me that the medicine works best the first few months and then hardly at all. For me that's just fine bc I'm not wanting to lose more than 30 pounds anyway."

"Completely satisfied with this prescribed medication. The medication truly re-directs your eating habits for the greater good. Minor side effects are dry mouth, anxiety & constipation and will subside by drinking water. I've been on this prescribed medication since May 2017 and am down 20 pounds. Great results so far!"

Tenuate (diethylpropion): "I was prescribed Tenuate extended-release tabs because of my caffeine sensitivity. Of course, I noticed a change but not the jittery/shaky feeling that comes with harsh stimulants. My side effects included nausea, constipation, blurred vision (which I didn't associate to the meds). I lost 15 pounds over a three month period including the winter holiday period but noticed after that I was not losing anymore. Two months later and a 6 lb weight gain, I've decided to stop taking the meds. Immediately, I noticed extreme exhaustion and an inability to get going."

"I took diethylpropion 75 mg 5 years ago for about a year and lost 55 pounds. In that time I noticed my heart rate rise about 10-15 points. Last year due to stress with work and private life also work overload and not having the time for taking proper care if my self I gained it back and some more. I started taking it again 2 weeks ago. And what I noticed, first of all suppresses my appetite for couple of hours and gives me energy for the meantime, but my heart rate doesn't rise anything, the effect doesn't lasts long and I don't loose any weight. Can anyone give me any suggestion how to make things work again. My husband and I would like to have a family/ kids and it would be really important to loose at least 30 pounds."

"I'm 5'9 and I weight about 245. I have been on Diethylpropion for about 4 days now, I've noticed a big difference. I lost about 5 pounds and i'm still losing. I forget to eat throughout the day.. I eat once a day, but I drink fluids a lot.. mainly water and sometimes sweet drinks. The taste of food is disgusting to me now as I have to force myself to eat. The first night I was unable to sleep but now i'm getting used to it. Incredible amount of energy throughout the day and crashing at night. Side effects I've experienced include nervousness, anxiety, dizziness. It's still AMAZING! A miracle pill after your body gets used to it side effects are minimal. I hope to lose +50 pounds. I would recommend it to anyone who has trouble losing weight."

"I had a hysterectomy 4 years ago and gained so much weight. I tried diets, exercise and omg I would just gain more weight! My doctor told me to try this and in 3 days I'm down 8 lbs!! I am so happy to have finally found something that helps. Can't wait for the rest of the nasty pounds to fall off."

"I am completely satisfied with this medication. I had a few side-effects the first 4 days (a bit jittery, headache, insomnia, constipation) but all but the constipation has passed. I have been on this for 3 weeks today and am down 11.4 pounds. I am thrilled with it as I had tried Phentermine and had terrible side-effects and had to quit. I am on about a 900 to 1000 calorie daily diet. Drinking lots more water and walking daily. It gives me a good energy....I want to be up and doing things but not like hyperactivity. It's been a great experience, so far."

"This is great drug, I took 75mg for 4 months and lost 30 lbs with no excercise. No side effect at all, but this might not be the case with other people. I took 1 pill in the morning, and basically it allowed me not to eat or feel hungry entire day! I'll have tea and coffee during day and just eat dinner. If I get really hungry, will eat something healthy and very small, like fruit and veggies. I stopped after 3 months since I want to make sure it doesn't screw up my heart. I am seeing Heart Specialist for stress test, my doctor wanted me to get cleared by him if I wanted to continue this medication. I suggest you take this medication seriously, and get cleared for heart condition before start taking it."

"I have tried both Diethylpropion and Phentermine. The Phentermine worked very well! I lost 40lbs with almost no exercise at all. But I experienced dry mouth and the jitters. On the downside I loved snacking and its usually after dinner or right before. I was taking 30 mg and I had NO cravings for anything! I loved it! So I am now on the Diethylpropion 25 mg immediate release which is not cutting it and I talked to my Doctor and he increased the dosage to taking 50 mg a day and still not doing the trick just yet. So its my cravings that are bad especially around my cycle. I will be maybe trying the 75 mg."

"After gaining around 70 pounds during the pregnancy of my daughter regular diet and exercise just weren't cutting it. I've never taken diet pills before this but in just 6 days I've lost 7 1/2 pounds. I do get the dry mouth side effects, slight headaches & funky vision here and there but it's working wonders! I know the weight loss will slow down but I'd like to lose another 40."

"I've been taking med for two weeks and 5 days. In my first week the side effects where anxiety and sweating. I didn't have dry mouth but I do now, the second day I felt depressed, the third day I was anxious then I had mid cycle bleeding from then on for about 4 days and was kinda tired but I also wasn't well and I have had the contraceptive implant fitted recently so I wasn't really worried about the odd bleeding as i felt fine in myself. End of wk 1 I had lost 13lbs in my second wk lost 4lb so still a decent loss. I haven't exercised as I've been mad busy but I will when it becomes hard yo loose more weight then I'll step it up with the exercise :) its a 10/10 for me so far just listen to your body you know your body best."

"I was on this medication for 2 weeks and started noticing abnormal bruising and mid-cycle spotting. I looked on the paperwork that came from the pharmacy and it listed those symptoms under the "contact your doctor immediately" category. I spoke to him and he said to stop taking it immediately. It can mess with your blood cell production in your bone marrow. Not taking this anymore. I am one of the unlucky ones that gets side effects so I will stick with something safer for me. It's not worth it in my case."

"I have been on this medication a month and I have lost 11 lbs. With the appropriate diet and exercise this medication is wonderful. At first it did give me the gitters and a mild headache but after a few days its just fine. It controls my appetite and I have to remind myself to eat alot of the time. I also take Topamax at night time as part of my weight lost plan. I highly recommend this medication."

"The best weight loss medication I have ever used! I have lost 20 lbs in 2.5 months! A record for me! Side effects are minimal. I am not hungry most of the time, which gives me great control over what I eat. I count my calories each day to the best of my abilities. I used My Fitness Pal website to calculate how many calories I should eat a day to lose the weight for a specific period of time which was key to my success."

"After using diet pill after diet pill and seeing no effect I finally went to my Primary Care Physician I told him that I didn't know what was happening to me I couldn't stop eating. Even when I knew I was full I was still eating. After the weight gain And being at my heaviest 192 lbs. came depression and that made my eating habits worst. Within a week of taking this medication I lost 5 lbs my eating habits started improving I no longer craved ships or sugar. By the end of two months I had lost 13 lbs. My clothes started fitting me and my depression went away. I love this medication it's been 3 months and it seems like I'm stuck at 176 lbs. Exercising improves this medication. I love this medication."

"My doctor prescribed this to me and it works like wonders. I take 75mg a day. Drink water all the time. Eat 6 small mini healthy meals a day. The only affect I had was dry mouth but went a way in two weeks. It makes me full of energy. I'm never tired at all, and I work long days. When I started I was 280, and I'm done 22 pounds in one month. The big thing is motivation. We can all do it."

Tenuate (diethylpropion): "I started taking adipex but the insomnia and other side effects were just becoming unbearable so my doctor switched me over to tenuate 75mg ER . Besides the side effects listed tenuate has been pretty bearbable vs adipex and I can cope with the few side effects they are not too bad . I have noticed for me that the weight loss is slower on tenuate but as long as I am eating right and excercising the weight comes off . I'm losing 1-2 pounds a week so I'm staying on target and at a healthy weight loss . At the begining you will lose the first week for me it was 7 pounds then after 2 weeks it slowed to 1.5 pounds a week . You have to eat healthy choices & excerise or u will just gain back what u lost."

Tenuate (diethylpropion): "I have been taking Tenuate time released 75mg for almost 3 weeks. I am down 9 lbs. I started at 130, and am Now 121.4. I have noticed that it is not working as well now as it did in the first week or two. At the beginning I was never hungry, I would have to force myself to eat something. Now, I have noticed the hunger pains. I am hoping to loose another 11 lbs."

"I am on this medication and so far it's working perfectly! It does suppress my appetite a lot! Every time I eat and the first bite of food hits my stomach I get sick and feel like I am going to throw up, so it's working and is deterring me from over eating! I didn't rank it a full 10 because the price is sort of high (depends on where you buy it) however, I have found that Wal-Mart is the cheapest on it!"

Tenuate (diethylpropion): "Loved this medicine at start a month ago. Lost 9 pounds. I am not obese but after a hard year and surgery I had to give up exercise. I gained almost 20 lbs in two years and I was miserable. My doctor realized I needed a kick start and prescribed this... I LOVED ... I have been more attentive and energetic and not eating just for the sake of eating or being bored. After a month I feel like my body is too used to it and not the same as day one ... But I am going to keep going and try to lose 10 more pounds... However I will say that I have not had bad side affects at all ..."

"I have been on this medication at 75mg for two weeks now and have lost 12 lbs. I feel great. There was some side effect the first few days but all that is left is a dry mouth but I just drink alot of water which is actually good for me because previously I was horrible at drinking it. I will be monitored monthly by my doctor to ensure safety and am so far satisfied with the beginning results."

"I have been on this medication for 1 month , and it DOES take away hunger. I take my pill around 10am because I'm more of a late night eater. I have had the headaches the first week taking the pills but they have slightly gone away. This pill does make me feel a bit of the rapid heart beat but only for a bit. I did feel a bit of depression the first week taking it and its not like me at all but as my body is getting used to it that feeling went away. I have tried Phentermine and that gave me crazy energy. BUT I was still able to eat on it, it did not really take my hunger away like Diethylpropion. I'm on the 75mg ER so it releases slower for the whole day. I exercise 5 days a week for 1hr and 30 min lost 12lbs and exercise and eat right."
