Voltaren Arthritis Pain Gel (diclofenac) "I used Biofreeze in the past which I have no complaints but it seems as though Voltaren lasts longer with regard to relief. I see many people complain about the smell on this thread. It has a distinctive smell but I'm not using it to go clubbing either..."

Voltaren Arthritis Pain Gel (diclofenac) "I was prescribed Voltaren gel for my MCP joint, which experienced remodeling of bone after my 14-year career as a deep tissue massage therapist. I am a chiropractic student, so I went the conservative route first: adjustment, ultrasound, cold laser, Alpha-stim, microcurrent probes. Finally I had a series of x-rays on campus and unfortunately, there is a large osteophyte on the volar (palm) side of the base of the 1st metacarpal, along with serious lipping of the scaphoid bone which supports it (you know this combination as the saddle joint). Voltaren helps the crippling pain of trying to unscrew a jar, open a doorknob, or hold a pen. I will however have surgery to remove the osteophyte."

Voltaren Arthritis Pain Gel (diclofenac) "The base knuckle of my index finger has been sore for a year. XRAYs showed no arthritis so my doctor can't figure out what's wrong with my finger. I tried using the Voltaren Gel on it and it helps tremendously. The pain goes away, but unfortunately it comes back when I stop using the gel. I am so glad I found something to help with the pain, but I'm disappointed that it's not permanent relief. I don't want to rely on medicine to treat pain - I wish it would just go away."

"Use Voltaren original or the generic by Amneal! Don’t use Cipla’s!!! It causes breathing problems from harmful ingredients they put in it! Trust me! I know this because I was one of the ones it happened to!"

"I have been in pain management for 9 years. Chronic lower back pain and sciatica has been treated with methadone, 30 mg daily. I do not take drugs like Voltaren , diclofenac, orally because of stomach upset. My arthritis has become more of a problem now. My wrist joint becomes very painful and swollen. This diclofenac gel has been very helpful - I was skeptical. Using a 4 gram dose 2X daily has relieved a lot of pain and inflammation. Thank you."

Voltaren Arthritis Pain Gel (diclofenac) "I had a foot fracture 10 months ago and had my screw removed three months ago. I cannot take oral NSAIDS because of a stomach problem. I was taking lortab every day, one or two, in the later part of the day to make it through. I used one inch of Votaren Gel where I have the residual arthritis and covered it and taped it. After two hours I went for a walk and was able to walk farther in the same amount of time and without as bad of a limp. This morning my foot was tender. I don't think I will use it when my foot is really sore. I have learned to back off or pay for it the next day. There is always a trade off when I try to medicate this kind of pain."

Pennsaid (diclofenac) "My opinion of this topical medicine is far different than everyone else's. I've been using it for a torn meniscus regularly for two months and I see absolutely no difference. I might as will be putting body butter on my knee. I'm very tuned into medicines, every little side effect and whether it works or doesn't and this stuff is phony baloney."

Voltaren Arthritis Pain Gel (diclofenac) "I suffer with osteoarthritis in both of my hips. I've had 1 hip replaced and both pre and post surgery I suffer with lower back pain. Used Voltaren Gel and no marked relief. I used to have, and have just re-ordered, a THERATERM digital moisture heat pad which helps all kinds of aches (knees/back/shoulder) (amazing heat pad) ... and I'm going to try another topical solution called 'LivRelief' and see if it helps (I'm still hoping). My quality of life has very much deteriorated as a result of this lower back pain - even the simplest of tasks."

Pennsaid (diclofenac) "Many here are saying that the price is about 2K. I don't know if every state has this but it has changed my life. Target near me sells it for $98.00 Pennsaid has helped my bad knees. I would not say it took all of my pain away but it helped lower it. I like that it glides on the skin. i like that you can re apply."

Voltaren Arthritis Pain Gel (diclofenac) "I applied it to my knees this afternoon and was AMAZED, no more pain. I read the label and then used it. I should have looked further (http://www.drugs.com/cdi/voltaren-gel-gel.html). The maker (Novartis) issued a warning letter in December, noting problems. Looks like I'll still be getting my Hyalgen shot on Friday. I will follow up with my Doc(I used a free-sample) and go from there. I have liver tests every 6 months due to blood pressure medicines and the beer I drink too much of. I hope I will be able take this medicine safely: it sure does work."

Pennsaid (diclofenac) "If you have ever torn a calf muscle or Achilles you know how swollen and painful it is. The Pennsaid arrived today and it began to work almost immediately. The pain went from an 8 to a 3 I am surprised to say I feel a bit buzzed from it."

"The gel was prescribed for my upper shoulder, shoulder blade and upper arm. 4 times a day application per RX. Using for 4 weeks so far. Very effective. I wanted to refill again, even before using up the tube, but zero refills. Wanted a tube to leave at my job. Wondered why 0 refill, since it works so well. But reading about the side effects online and elsewhere, like anything else, potential interactions with other Rx's, and some of the side effects people have reported here. It's still a drug. Note: I have been experiencing lower right abdominal pain, but also using other things that can cause that. Hard to figure out which is triggering, or if in combo with the others."

Voltaren Arthritis Pain Gel (diclofenac) "Often my jaw cramps up and hurts more than my knees do before a storm. The Voltaren Gel also helps with the bone pain I get along my temples and at the base of my skull, so I am thankful that it is a non-greasy gel instead of a cream. (These areas of pain come from a compression head injury I got as a teenager.) I have a lot of problems trying to take anything for the arthritis in oral form, and I still take Aciphex along with using the Voltaren Gel as a precaution. (This product works well with even less than the amount suggested, so a tube goes further for me; I use up about 1 1/2 tubes each month.)"

Pennsaid (diclofenac) "I have been using Pennsaid for about 8 wks. It is working well in conjunction with cortisone shots in my knees every 3 months. My insurance covered it totally, to my surprise! My only complaint is the pump on the bottle quit working on the first RX before it was empty. It just quit pumping and I had to wait till I could refill my next month supply. POOR DESIGN on the pump."

Pennsaid (diclofenac) "I recently had an arthroscopic chondroplasty surgery on my knee and I suffer from patellafemoral pain syndrome on both. I have had a hard time recovering from my surgery with stiffness, soreness, inability to go down stairs, bend properly, etc. I was skeptical to how a simple gel could make any difference but boy was I wrong. Highly recommend this product!!! I am like a brand new person and often forget I had surgery until the effects of the gel wear off."

Pennsaid (diclofenac) "I've used Volteran in the past and the generic 1.5% Pennsaid solution but the newer 2.0% pump Pennsaid seems to work best. I use it on my knees, hips, hands and feet depending on where I have pain ( as needed). I have psoriatic arthritic and osteoarthritis so I'm very glad I found something that gives me relief. I like the fact that the new Pennsaid has no odor because Volteran has a strong scent. Cost is high though. It's nearly $2700 for one bottle without insurance . This is outrageous since it leaves many people unable to afford it."

Pennsaid (diclofenac) "I had a bad accident while snow skiing. After 2 surgeries and 1.5 yrs of PT, they put my shoulder back together but still had severe daily pain. I was taking Percocet everyday to deal with the pain. I asked the doctor to try Pennsaid. In 5 minutes after application the pain was gone. 5 years later, I have not taken a pain pill since! I just use Pennsaid. I consider it a miracle drug. Side note... it took a lot of work from both myself and my doctor to get insurance to start paying for it!"

Voltaren Arthritis Pain Gel (diclofenac) "I started using Voltaren Gel a week ago for osteoarthritis in both knees. I used it 4x a day as prescribed and experienced absolutely no relief whatsoever. I did my research and found that relief is not something that builds up over time with this medication, so I am going to try something else."

Pennsaid (diclofenac) "I had chronic pain in my neck, from working minimum 10 hours on the computer. Couldn't even push when I went to the toilet. I had gravity do all the work. :( 3 years of every day pain. I had all the tests done (MRIs, CT scans), and all the treatments (physical therapy, acupuncture, massages, suction cups, muscle relaxers pills, anti inflammatory pills etc). the only thing that worked till now, were codeine pills. Until I found out about pensaid, yesterday! I can't believe it! I'm pain free since last night! I feel reborn! I was reading the other comments, about it costing $2000 dollars??!! That's insane. I bought it here in Greece for 13 euros. That's like 15 dollars."

This should be given to every patient having knee or hip replacement. Pennsaid made it possible for me to get to the next level in my rehab. Good stuff!!!"

"Generic Voltaren Gel ( Diclofenac 1% ) worked wonders on my ankle osteoarthritis. I was having terrible pain, could not stand or walk. Was taking 2 to 6 of the 650 mg acetaminophen plus four 225 mg Naprosyn daily with little to no relief. Got an injection into the joint space that took away 50% of the pain and twice daily applications of this takes care of the rest. I can walk again, what a relief "

"I have been in pain (cervicle) for years. c4c5c6. This Christmas holidays I was in the floor with pain. Miserable, mean, horrible and short with the ones I love. The Dr. prescribed the 1.3 patch. Ohhhh what a difference. I'm a different person in 2 days. Tonight started taking the zipsor gel tablets as well. Hoping to get up again in the morning! BB"
