Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "At first, I had no problems on Apri. Then, about a month in, I gained over 10 pounds even though I didn't change my diet or exercise. I also noticed that I became very moody and had random crying spells around my period, which has never happened before. My breasts are also very tender and itchy, and my acne has gotten worse. I never had bad period cramps before I started taking this pill, and now they are extremely painful. Hopefully, my doctor switches me to a different pill."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I dealt with constant bleeding for 2 years. All day, every day. Non-stop for 2 years. I was prescribed Viorele after having a horrible experience with Levora. For about 3 months, I was skeptical because my period never regulated itself, but I did have times where the bleeding stopped. However, I'd have 2-week-long periods, and they'd be HEAVY. My gynecologist insisted I keep taking it to get my body used to it. Here I am, 9 months later, and though my period is still not regulated, I have been 3 months without any bleeding. I have mild spotting about 5 days a month, but I am SO grateful for this pill. I am no longer worried about having to buy a box of tampons all the time because of constant bleeding. And also, importantly, I'm not pregnant, lol. I have had no other adverse effects. Also, my acne has cleared up 100%."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I have been taking this birth control for four months now. The first was the worst, I was irritable, frequently sad, lethargic, and just overall moody. It cleared up my face and didn't change much in the way of flow on my period but did make them shorter. My sex drive has also decreased, as well as my eating habits. I find myself less hungry, but my breasts have grown in size. Now, four months later, I've been spotting non-stop for the past two weeks, and my face is breaking out in acne that rests under the skin. Going to change my prescription soon, but for a while, it was definitely tolerable."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I do not take any other meds, just Apri. I don’t take vitamins, nothing. Let me tell you what has changed. I have been on Apri for 2 months. I gained 11 pounds the first month. Mainly my fault because I had cravings. I have broken out so bad on my forehead and sometimes on my chin. I thought it was due to stress because lately I have had EXTREME anxiety and depression. Never been so stressed in my life, and I couldn’t figure out why I was stressed. I have no reason to be. I am terrified to go to work, I have missed so much work the past month and a half due to anxiety. I’m up all night stressing, so I call in. Then I’m stressed about calling in, so I shut down and sleep all day. I can’t get out of bed, I’m so depressed, and I have no reason to be. I started doing research on why I would be depressed and saw that BC can cause it. So I will definitely be stopping this pill so I can go back to normal."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "Was on Kariva for 3 months, would have stayed on it if it wasn't for the negative side effects I got from this pill. PROS: Breasts grew from a B cup to a C cup. No depression, feeling sad, or moody. Shorter, light periods, 4 days at the most. CONS: Extreme vaginal dryness, so extreme I couldn't climax at ALL for the entire 3 months. I had acne that broke out on my forehead, chin, chest, and back. I'm already really skinny and wanted to gain weight, instead, I lost about 8 lbs. Overall, just couldn't put up with the dryness down there, it ruined sex for me. After 3 months of taking it, I had my doctor switch me to a new pill."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I have been on Apri for 6 months now. My acne has come back, I have horrible and frequent mood swings. I've gained at least 8 pounds around my hips. I completely lost my sex drive, which is ruining my relationship with my boyfriend. I have horrible cramps the whole week before and during my period, and I get it for at least 5 days. The kicker is, it was the perfect pill for the first couple of months, so watch out. I'm going to the doctor this week to switch."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I've been on Kariva for probably 3 years or less now, and it is my favorite BC. I have tried others with crazy emotional side effects and heavy bleeding. Kariva gets rid of my period about 99% of the time, and with that, it decreases sex drive. It got rid of my acne and constant hot flashes. I didn't gain any weight on it. In fact, I just came off of Kariva a few weeks ago due to a severe yeast infection, which I had no idea what was causing, and since then my hormones are insane from being off of it. I keep binge eating, have cramps, my vagina is almost tingling a lot, my face gets very flush and red, and my skin is super dry. I gained 6 lbs in that time and hadn't changed my eating patterns. I am going back on Kariva due to this."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "So I've taken Apri for about four years now, let me say, I love it. I started taking it for terrible cramps-to the point where I'd puke from the pain and have to pull the car over with each wave. Not only did Apri help calm my cramps 98%, my period only lasts like 2-3 days. I used to have terrible, I mean really bad, skin breakouts. After taking Apri for a couple of months, my skin has been completely clear since. It's like killing two birds with one stone. I never gained weight or felt weird. I'm a college student, so I have enough stress on my plate already, Apri really helps."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I have gained 35 lbs in the last year on this pill. My acne is the worst it has ever been, and acne medication has not helped. This pill has made my periods light, and I have no cramps, but the weight gain is crazy. No matter how hard I try, I can’t lose the weight."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I've been on this pill for 4 months now, and I have experienced zero side effects! This is my first time taking birth control, as I decided to go on a bit of a spree, lol, and figured it would be a good idea. I went through my spree and now have a serious relationship with no pregnancy scares so far. I ordered this from Pill Club without insurance and only had to pay $40 with the copay for a year's supply. I DID request a pill that would stop my period, and Isibloom does no such thing, but that's on the Pill Club, not the pill itself. It did regulate my period, which is something I haven't had since I started it, so at least that's something. My periods are pretty much the same as they were prior to the pill, my acne is back and forth on how bad it gets, but no weight gain, mood swings, or change in behavior. All in all, I like this pill!"

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I have been on Isibloom for 4 months. I noticed a big difference in my eating habits. I eat less and lost about 15 pounds since starting. I have had major mood swings in the beginning where I even scared my family. I wouldn’t recommend this to teens, just young adults. The hormones make me go back and forth with my acne, but only around my regular period time, and I still get ovulation pain while on the pill, so I’m not sure it’s actually doing what it’s supposed to. My advice: research as much as possible about what you want to put into your body and talk to your doctor or nurse about it, they will put you on a better track than looking at reviews."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I am on my third pack of Isibloom, and for the first 1.5 months, acne was crazy! Especially around my chin. Now that I’m onto my third pack, that has cleared up a bit. Secondly, my libido decreased a lot in the first month. My sex drive was high before switching to Isibloom, so I was shocked that it made a huge difference. My boyfriend was aware of the situation, so if this ever happens, have some lube on hand! Thirdly, my period was quite heavy with this BC pill. But before I even started taking BC pills, I always experienced heavy bleeding, so it was nothing new to me. Lastly, I didn’t notice a change in anything-appetite, weight, mood change, nothing-since I first started taking Isibloom. I decided to skip my period from the second pack onto the third pack, and it was a smooth transition! I’m on my second week in my third pack, and it’s nice not having a period! No pregnancy, too!"

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "Reduced my libido to absolutely nothing, daily migraines, cystic acne, cramps became worse, I had no emotions, hair loss/lifeless hair, and I gained 8 pounds within one month of starting this birth control. I just stopped taking this medication, and hopefully my body will be able to get back to normal. I have taken other birth control medications in the past, and none of them affected me like this one, so just beware of Reclipsen."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I'm in the middle of my third pill pack, and now I've been bleeding for five days-enough to need tampons for. The first month was hell: I was weepy and irritable, I was bloated all the time, and my boobs grew a ridiculous amount. Now, I'm bleeding, my boobs hurt terribly, and my acne is maybe getting better? Also, (for other factors) I eat healthy, drink at least a half gallon of water per day, and exercise. Not sure if I should keep taking this."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I've seen a lot of bad reviews about Isibloom birth control pill, and it makes me worry, but I personally like it. I've been on it for 2 months now, and the first month went pretty well. I lost almost all my appetite and didn't eat much. I have pretty bad mood swings that it seemed to help and even out some. Now, the second month is basically my usual mood swings and pretty regular appetite. Occasionally, I don't have an appetite, or I have too much of an appetite. My acne hasn't increased, and I don't have any weird discharge, and lastly, I'm not pregnant. All in all, I like it."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I will be starting my third pack next week. This pill has given me pimples, my boobs have grown a cup size, but hurt all the time. I can't even jog. No real weight gain, but just general nausea, pelvic, and back pain most of the time. I will give it another month to subside...."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I have endometriosis, and my doctor wants me to continuously use this with 3-4 breaks per year to minimize the endometrial growth. I had terrible nausea and bad acne in the beginning, not to mention I spotted for a month straight and then bled a period flow for another month. Taking this pill before bedtime helped with the nausea. I've been taking this pill for 4 months now and have gained 5-10 lbs, the acne is still bad (I'm 34 and no longer had it before Apri). Oh, and my libido is nonexistent since taking this medication. I figured it wouldn't happen to me since I had a very strong libido, but it is now gone. I'm going to ask my doctor to change this medication."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "When I first switched my birth control from the generic version of Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo to Kariva, it was an attempt to regulate my pH balance. Although the switch made no difference in that area, I noticed a significant change in my mood. In a good way! I had been taking the other birth control for so long, I thought it was just me that had crazy mood swings every month. Once I switched, the moods were gone. My mind was blown. I have also noticed a decrease in acne, which is always a plus. They've also just changed the bubble pack to release the pills more easily. I recommend."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I am 19 years old, this is my first birth control, and I have been on it for around 9 months. The first 3-7 months were bearable, I didn’t gain weight, my mood swings increased a little, and I had a few headaches here and there. Months 8-9, I’m noticing more breakouts on my skin and more dryness around my eyes, it could just be the environment, though. Overall, Isibloom does its job of preventing pregnancy, and its side effects aren't all too bad."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "This birth control was not good. I gained weight all in my stomach and had horrible, horrible bloating before my period for about 3 days. It was as if I was 4 months pregnant-none of my clothes fit, and I'd feel too uncomfortable to sit in a chair. Acne was worse than it has ever been."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I’ve been on Isibloom for one cycle. I’ve experienced some side effects including increased appetite (few lbs weight gain), bloating/water retention, tender and swollen breasts— I’ve gone up a bra cup size— really didn’t want to as they’re already too big for my frame... Moodiness, pimples. The only positive is that I get to skip my period, but I am definitely considering stopping the pill. I wish it worked for me, but I don’t think the side effects are worth it."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "After trying Tri Estarylla and Loestrin, this has been the most effective. My moods are under control, I haven't gained a crazy amount of weight, and this gave me a regular period without crazy breakthrough bleeding. I did notice a tad bit more acne after taking Accutane, but only a few here and there. I hope this continues to work!"

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "This is my third month using Cyclessa, and I'm very happy with it. I used to have periods that lasted a week to a week and a half and more than once a month. Now my periods start on maybe a Thursday or Friday, and it ends that Sunday. Before, my periods were really heavy, like unbearable, and now I hardly know they're there. I don't know about the acne part, I haven't noticed a bad or good change, it's pretty much the same. Also, I'm not pregnant, so this is good. Cyclessa seems like a pretty reliable pill so far, I would recommend it."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS BIRTH CONTROL! I was previously taking Yaz and loved it, however, I lost a bunch of weight (eating right and exercising), and the pill couldn’t regulate to my new body. I was having a period for 3 weeks, and my doctor recommended I take this as the same hormones, just a different dose than the Yaz. I have been on it for about a week and have had the worst side effects. My mood swings are constant. I could be fine yet crying for no reason. I had diarrhea for 6 days straight, causing me to now have a hemorrhoid. I’ve always had great, clear skin, and now being on this birth control, I have had crazy breakouts on my chin. I’ve gained 10 lbs in one week and feel like I’m going to vomit at any moment. I recommend staying far away from this."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I’ve been using Isibloom for about 2 years now, and the only bad side effects I’ve had are cramps and acne. I never had cramps before taking this birth control, but they’re not terrible, I can still manage to work and be fine. As for the acne, not sure if it's caused by this birth control or not, but once my period starts, I start to see a few. Other than that, I’ve had no other issues, and I'm going to continue to use this because I am scared to try anything else. The reviews on this website for other birth controls and this one are kinda scary."
