"I used Isibloom for 3 years. I initially got prescribed it at age 16 for hormonal cystic acne, and it immediately perfected my skin. I have not had cystic acne since, and I rarely get pimples. It was great at lightening and regulating my periods to the Wednesday of the placebo week. I did gain weight, but I believe this is not due to the medication and more so to just my body changing for the better over time (I was really skinny, 120 lbs, 5’8 when I started it). The reason I went off it was that I have anxiety, and remembering to take a pill every day was not good for my mental health. My body also did not respond well to the sudden decrease in hormones during the placebo week (I would become very depressed, bloated, and increased anxiety). But again, I did have an anxiety disorder prior to starting this. I switched to Nexplanon, and so far, it has been a lot better for me. But Isibloom is an AMAZING birth control for someone who is alright with taking a pill every day to prevent pregnancy."

"I’m getting married in May, so I got on birth control to prevent pregnancy in the future and to regulate my period. The first week, my breasts were extremely tender, and I had a snobby attitude, but I was also in a musical at our local theatre, so that could’ve caused mood changes. My mood seems normal now, my acne has cleared up, my breasts have stopped hurting, so now I’m just waiting on my period to start. According to my Flo app, I’m supposed to start my period this week. I haven’t had any problems with Isibloom yet! Praises so far!"

"I just started month three of Isibloom, and until today, the only side effect was me being a little more moody. I awoke this morning in severe pain and was seen in the emergency room. I was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism (a blood clot in my lungs) caused by my birth control. I now have to be on blood thinners for a minimum of six months. I have always been a very healthy person and am only 22 years old."

"(Not as bad as the reviews might lead you to believe. Usually, people who have bad experiences are, of course, going to post about it. Not to undermine any experience that anyone has on this BC.) Let me tell you, though. I’ve tried six different kinds of birth controls (from Nuvaring to other pills). All of them gave me the WORST mood swings. It was not healthy, and I had to get off all of them. With Isibloom, I think I finally found one that works for me. I still get mild mood swings, but I just have to remind myself I’m adjusting to the new medication. Other than that, there have literally been no other side effects. I have bad acne in general, and I’m hoping soon it’ll clear up too! Ladies, good luck finding the birth control for you! Everything is going to be different for everyone. So try until you find yours. -Xoxo"

"I have been on this Isibloom for 2 months. It has made my periods only 3 days long and my cramps more bearable. I have not gained any more weight. I have been getting acne below my nose though ever since I have been taking it. Sex drive is fine. I get irritated easier now though. Overall, I like it though, so don’t be afraid to try it!"

"I’ve been on this pill for about 2 weeks, and this past week has been like hell on earth. Constant nausea, fatigue, and awful cramping!!! I started taking the pill to lessen cramps during my period because I get them pretty badly for the first 1-3 days. These have been worse than my period cramps and have been ongoing for about a week now. I’ve had bloating to the point where I look like I’m pregnant. I’ve gotten headaches on this pill too, they last for hours and feel like a dull pulsing pain. These side effects almost made me believe I was pregnant because they were so strange and came out of nowhere, but after reading some other reviews, I believe that it’s this pill. I am young, and I noticed other negative reviews have been from older women, so I thought I would have better luck. I have just been feeling awful for days. Ibuprofen has not helped either."

"I have been on multiple kinds of birth control and switched to this one because the hormones in all of them affected my mood intensely. This one is one of the worst when it comes to mood swings and cravings. I cry at the drop of a hat and have intense emotional breakdowns constantly for literally no reason and go down the overthinking/anxiety birth control side effects rabbit hole of sadness. I highly do NOT recommend this kind. I chose this kind because it had fewer hormones, and my doctor said it would be better for me in the side effects department. I haven't even gotten a full pack in, and within the first week, felt intense side effects. Don't take this if you have ever experienced depression or anxiety."

"If I could give this zero stars, I could... I’m so scared at what this pill is doing to me. This is my first time taking a BC pill, so naturally, I knew that I would be sensitive to the medication. I was nauseous, tired, hungry, sleepy, and light-headed when I first started this pill and tried to stick it out. It’s been a month now, and my cramps and diarrhea are awful... also, I’ve been bleeding for like a week straight. The whole point in me getting on birth control was to cut out my periods. They’ve never lasted more than 5 days, and here I am on day 7. I was trying to wait it out, but I can’t do it. Think I’d rather deal with my regular period times and cramps."

"Not my favorite birth control ever, but it does the job. I lost my insurance, so I switched to this from the NuvaRing via The Pill Club since it’s more affordable. I have had a little bit of spotting, and I feel very, very hungry all the time, but these side effects are more annoying than debilitating, and I feel normal otherwise. For a $15 birth control pill, you really can’t go wrong."

"Isibloom wasn’t bad at all for me. My skin got very clear. However, I would get a little nauseous at times and didn’t eat as often. It didn’t affect me much emotionally. So I’d recommend it. I had to get off because my insurance didn’t cover it anymore."

"The first couple of weeks were fine. A little increase in anxiety, but manageable. Week 3, I started being moody and just not feeling myself. Feeling nothing at all sometimes, or intense anxiety and/or depression. I figured it was just because my period was coming, but it came and went, and I feel the same. The anxiety can get so bad that I am having panic attacks, which I have not had in YEARS. I am NOT an emotional person, but I can cry in an instant now. I was on my phone laughing at something and then immediately started crying. I have cried more in the past 2 weeks than I have in 6 months, and I just feel like I’m going crazy. It has lightened my cycle and shortened it. I got a lot more cramping than with my normal period, though."

"I was switched to Isibloom by my provider without notice. I am only one week in, am going to have to switch immediately. I have never experienced depression like this. I want to cry about everything. I basically cry myself to sleep every night. I’ve lost interest in hanging with people and doing my hobbies. I’m getting unreasonably angry about everything. I was on Cyred, which compared to Isibloom was amazing, besides the fact that my boobs were sore to the touch for three months straight. But I would do anything to go back. Please don’t take this medication."

"I have been on Isibloom for 4 months now, and I have not had any major side effects. I am 21 years old, so it might be because of my younger age, but I did experience nausea and headaches for the first 3-4 days. I was up a couple of times throughout the night because I take them right before bed. Other than that, my periods are so much better now, nothing compared to before. I had my periods for 6-7 days with strong menstrual cramps to where I would need a heating pad and lots of ibuprofen. Now on the pill, my periods are a maximum of 4 days, and it is super light with minimal to no cramps. I am content with this pill, and I do not plan to change out this contraceptive pill."

"I honestly love the Isibloom birth control pill! I did not get any bad symptoms at all! I did get body acne for the first month, but then it completely went away! The only thing that I noticed was that my periods got very light and were only 3 days short!"

"So far, I have been taking Isibloom for two weeks. The only side effect I experienced for the first 3-5 days was nausea, which I've heard was normal the first few days of taking birth control. I took anti-nausea pills (usually prescribed, I had leftovers), and I was fine afterward. I have been slightly less moody, my breasts finally seem to be evening out. Since then, I have NOT had any side effects."

"Been on the pill for just over two weeks, and the bloating is terrible. Motivation and drive to do and get things done have steeply dropped. My breasts are always extremely sore. Orgasms now come with pain, and I cramp all throughout the day regardless of where I’m at in my cycle. This should be taken off the market. It’s garbage."

"I honestly did not hate this Isibloom birth control like I thought I would. I read a lot of negative comments about this birth control before starting it, but after being on it for about two months now, I haven’t really noticed any side effects at all, other than on the first day. The first day was the worst - I threw up, had diarrhea all day, and experienced the most excruciating period cramps of my life, so I was nervous to continue with it. But then after that first day, just...nothing. No side effects whatsoever, so I plan to stick with it. Overall, I’m very happy with this birth control and it seems to be effective at doing its job."

"So I've been on this birth control for 7 months now. It has been awful. I have had nonstop nausea, vomiting, extreme bloating, and mood swings that are horrible. I have also had severe depression and feel constantly sick. Went to the doctor finally. These pills have literally sucked the life out of me. Everyone is different, but I am going to stop taking these, they are horrible for your body. It does its job of preventing pregnancy, but the overall side effects are horrendous."

"First 2 months I was very sensitive. Not moody, but extremely sensitive. Literally everything made me cry. Now I’m on my 4th month and everything's fine. I love it! I also have endometriosis and I have been struggling with horrible bloating, cramps, and painful sex. All that is now gone. Only thing that it hasn't done is clearing my face from pimples. But that’s alright as long as my endo is under control."

"I've been on it for about a year. I went from never on birth control before to this one. The first 3 days were full of nausea and migraines, but after that, it's been fine. No weight gain, no tender breasts or acne, no mood swings, it's mostly fine. I've noticed a decrease in my libido, but it was already super high and spontaneous, so it's just average now. If you already have a low libido, I wouldn't recommend it. My periods are a lot better, less painful, but just as heavy. It's okay overall for me."

"I was on this medication for a month and a half and had to stop. It completely lowered my libido and made intercourse hurt very badly. On top of all of that, it gave me constant cramping even when not on my period. I truly do not suggest this pill, but it may work for others."

"I have crazy PMS. I mean crazy. I cry a lot, I'm nauseous (I even vomit some months), get heat flashes, acne, horrible cramps, mood swings, etc. This is why I was not afraid of any birth control side effects because I live with these bad problems regardless. I took birth control (through the pill club and was prescribed this) because of my symptoms and because I've been sexually active for a few months now. I took it a week before my period, and those symptoms seem to have been minimized so far. I have a very high sex drive, however, the pill makes it a little harder to get turned on. I've had okay sex so far and also very great sex (my advice is to use a good amount of lube. It fixes the problem). I've only been on it a week, but so far so good. I will, however, be back to post a review in a few months to see if my symptoms have changed. So far so good, though. (: All bodies are different, but if you're anything like me, I would consider trying this pill."

"I literally have been on this birth control a week, and either I'm pregnant, or the symptoms for this have already started to affect me. I have frequent headaches, I'm bloated, and my boobs are super tender. I'm hoping this all goes away and will continue to update as I continue the medication."

"I have been on Isibloom since around October of 2019 (a year and 8 months). I got prescribed the pill through the Pill Clubs online service. My first year was phenomenal! However, around November of 2020, I started having terrible constant nausea. I took several pregnancy tests that all came out negative. Around the same time, my depression became a lot worse, my anxiety was through the roof, everything made me cry, I had a never-ending yeast infection, and I lost all my libido (+ intercourse became painful and uncomfortable). Last week, I stopped my birth control to let my period come (it’s been a few months) and all of a sudden I feel like myself. My libido is back, I no longer feel bloated or nauseous, and my mood swings evened out. My period ended 6 days ago, and I’ve been back on the pill, I’m back to feeling completely terrible! Tonight I’m extremely nauseous and can’t even sleep. I’m going to stop taking it!"

"I was on Quasense for five years, starting when I was 14. I should’ve switched a long time ago. It gave me horrible nausea every time I started a new pack, to the point where I started to stop eating the night I took the first pill along with a nausea pill. It gave me acne, weight gain, and depression. It did NOTHING for my abnormally heavy and painful periods. I switched to Isibloom only a week ago, but I already love it. No nausea, I’ve lost 2 pounds and gained a cup size. I’m giving it a 9 because I haven’t been on it long enough to see what it does for my acne or for my periods!"
