"I was on this medication for a month and a half and had to stop. It completely lowered my libido and made intercourse hurt very badly. On top of all of that, it gave me constant cramping even when not on my period. I truly do not suggest this pill, but it may work for others."

"I am now on my second pack of Isibloom. The first week, I did have quite a bit of mood swings, but the main side effect I had was with my stomach. I’ve been having strange bowel movements, where I'm bloated quite a lot with no bowel movement, being constipated for a few days, then going back to normal, then back to no movement. I’ve been on a loop for a month now, but it’s slowly not being as bad as it was before. If it does continue, I will be switching my birth control brand. Besides that, it does do the job, I’m not pregnant!"

"I started this birth control in late October to prevent pregnancy and to treat mild acne. My only negative symptom is nausea (without vomiting) before bed. My partner does not use condoms, and I haven’t gotten pregnant. I LOVE this birth control! Not only did it make my skin clear, my bra size went from a B to a D in just a few months. Everyone’s body reacts to birth control differently, but I 100% recommend Isibloom!"

"My age is 18, and the only side effects I’ve had are mood swings, and I’m very emotional, getting frustrated and annoyed very easily. I still have a cycle, but I don't cramp anymore. I've only been taking it for 2 months, and it's perfect."

"I’ve been on this Isibloom for a week (not sure enough to judge, but this is what happened so far). I’ve been breaking out? I never used to get acne like this... might be from stress, though. I’ve also had spotting/vaginal discharge. I feel like my boobs have been bigger, but they aren’t sore. This is my first birth control, so I’m going to stay on it and see what happens, but so far, nothing that makes me feel horrible!"

"I have crazy PMS. I mean crazy. I cry a lot, I'm nauseous (I even vomit some months), get heat flashes, acne, horrible cramps, mood swings, etc. This is why I was not afraid of any birth control side effects because I live with these bad problems regardless. I took birth control (through the pill club and was prescribed this) because of my symptoms and because I've been sexually active for a few months now. I took it a week before my period, and those symptoms seem to have been minimized so far. I have a very high sex drive, however, the pill makes it a little harder to get turned on. I've had okay sex so far and also very great sex (my advice is to use a good amount of lube. It fixes the problem). I've only been on it a week, but so far so good. I will, however, be back to post a review in a few months to see if my symptoms have changed. So far so good, though. (: All bodies are different, but if you're anything like me, I would consider trying this pill."

"I literally have been on this birth control a week, and either I'm pregnant, or the symptoms for this have already started to affect me. I have frequent headaches, I'm bloated, and my boobs are super tender. I'm hoping this all goes away and will continue to update as I continue the medication."

"I was on Quasense for five years, starting when I was 14. I should’ve switched a long time ago. It gave me horrible nausea every time I started a new pack, to the point where I started to stop eating the night I took the first pill along with a nausea pill. It gave me acne, weight gain, and depression. It did NOTHING for my abnormally heavy and painful periods. I switched to Isibloom only a week ago, but I already love it. No nausea, I’ve lost 2 pounds and gained a cup size. I’m giving it a 9 because I haven’t been on it long enough to see what it does for my acne or for my periods!"

"I’ve been on Isibloom for 3 months now. I’m in a serious relationship, so we thought it’d be a good idea. I didn’t really have that many side effects. The only things that have happened are a little weight gain, moodiness, and, worst of all, the entire time I’ve been on it, I’ve had a dark red discharge. I read that it can happen in the first 3-4 months, so I’m hoping it goes away soon. I’ve just had to wear panty liners every day!"

"I switched to Isibloom (ethinyl estradiol 0.03 mg, desogestrel 0.15 mg) when I ran out of the birth control I got abroad that was called Marvelon. Marvelon was amazing, but they don't sell it here. My gynecologist said Isibloom is the generic of Marvelon, though she was hesitant to prescribe it because it came with an unusually high risk of blood clots. I've had a very negative experience with most types of birth control (NuvaRing, Yaz, IUD). While the Isibloom one isn't the worst, I still have severe mood swings, lots of gross cystic acne (which I never had), and am exhausted all of the time. My breasts also fluctuate about one cup size each month. Symptoms seem to get particularly bad during the last week of taking it. I heard it's supposed to ease up after three cycles, but I'm close to the end of my third cycle, and if anything, it's just more intense. Now, I'm always angry and covered in zits. I'm 29. I definitely wouldn't recommend it, but I also don't think they make an alternative in the US that isn't a nightmare. I'm giving it one more month."

"So I started Isibloom about 4 years ago. I was on the patch for close to 10 years, and I was having horrible mood swings during my period. When I told the doctor what was going on, she prescribed me Isibloom and told me to take all the pills. I was truly amazed. My mood swings were gone, and I didn't really have any side effects. I love this pill. If you are having issues with mood swings, ask about taking all the pills in your pack!"

"I literally was convinced I was one of the prettiest women on Earth until I started taking this pill. It messed with my confidence so much I cried about my body and face daily. I have never been this insecure in my life, and I have never been this sad in my life. I also have constant headaches, nausea, and I cannot stand any types of sounds overlapping without getting overwhelmed."

"At first, I was terrified to start taking Isibloom birth control due to all of the horrible reviews I read. However, it is working pretty well for me. It cleared up my acne, I have no weight gain, and I also don’t see any depression side effects. I was nauseous the first few days taking it, but I’m pretty sure that was just my body reacting to something so new. I’ve also been on it for six months."

"I've been on Isibloom for 6 months now to prevent pregnancy. The first month or so, I experienced nausea when taking it, along with breakthrough bleeding for the first three months. After month three, that actually completely went away, and now I'm side effect free! It definitely made my breasts a cup size bigger and makes me carry my weight in my lower body. The one thing is when I skip periods and then have one the next month, it is BAD... like changing my pad every hour bad. They used to be worse while I'm not on birth control, so I'm not complaining. Love it!"

"I just want to say, my first period on this pill was one of the worst experiences of my life, and I wanted to share with others in case they're going through the same thing. It DOES get better, though. I have PMDD and moderate bleeding, my periods would last 3-4 days. The 1st period I had on Isibloom, I experienced severe PMDD, cold chills, hot flashes, headaches, I slept for 12 hours a day and did not eat. I was bleeding through tampons every 45 minutes to an hour. The bleeding was so bad that in class I bled through a regular tampon, my underwear, and my jeans in under an hour. I wanted to change to a different birth control immediately, but I was told to give it three months. Things DID get better for the second and third periods (I take pills continuously). My PMDD is not as bad as it was overall, and I don't experience the side effects I did on the first period. My acne DID clear up a lot on this birth control. My flow is light to moderate, but my periods are now 5-6 days long."

"I started this BC 3 months ago after losing insurance, it was cheaper than the NuvaRing. After finishing my 3rd pack of hormonal pills, I started having withdrawal symptoms (jaw pain, shaking, hot flashes, heart palpitations, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, extreme mood swings). These symptoms lasted for 1 week straight, 24 hr/day. I wasn't feeling like myself, and I took myself to the ER 2x in 24 hours due to side effects. You know it was bad when I went to the ER 2x with NO INSURANCE! After my placebo week, I started back on the NuvaRing and feel 100x better and like myself again. I was prescribed anxiety medication to help me through this awful week. I've never had anxiety or depression before, or heart palpitations. I'm having a heart monitor put on for a month when I get health insurance to ensure that I'm no longer experiencing heart rates of 90-175 EVERY DAY. Figured out this medicine is double the dosage of hormones compared to the NuvaRing. This explains withdrawal symptoms. Beware."

"I saw a few reviews on here saying to ignore the negative ones and that it really wasn’t that bad, so I gave it a go through pill club! The worst mistake. I stayed on it for 5 months because I thought the side effects would go away, and they never did. I bled for three weeks at a time at random intervals, sometimes only a few days apart before it started again. I had constant suicidal, depressed thoughts that I hadn’t struggled with before the medication, and my nausea was insane. Think twice and talk to your doctor before starting it because I wish that I never had. I didn’t get pregnant, though, so if that’s your only concern, go right ahead."

"I got Isibloom through The Pill Club. During the first week, I took the pill in the morning, and I would get very nauseous, have headaches, and tender breasts. After reading some reviews, I decided to start taking the pill at night, and symptoms went away. After taking it for two months, I've noticed that my appetite changes every day - sometimes I'll be very hungry or not hungry at all. However, I haven't gained any weight from the pill. Also, my mood swings calmed down by the end of the second month!"

"I’ve been on several other brands of birth control, all of which gave me cramps or terrible, terrible mood swings/constant depressive thoughts. I’ve been on Isibloom for about 7 months now, and honestly, it’s been great. My period is down to 3 days, which are very light. I no longer have to deal with horrible cramping/nausea, and my “PMS acne” is basically non-existent now. The only side effects I’ve noticed are a slight weight gain, and oddly, I now find the taste/smell of hot coffee absolutely repulsive."

"I (20 yr) was on Isibloom for 2 years. It cleared my acne and lightened my periods, but I didn't realize until I got off how depressed I was. I was just always constantly a little sad. Now that I'm off, I have forgotten how good life can feel, though my acne has made a horrible comeback."

"Please don’t be scared to try Isibloom because of all the seemingly negative reviews. I am 20 years old and have been on Isibloom for almost 3 weeks now. I have had ZERO side effects. The only thing that happened was the day after I took Isibloom for the first time, I felt a little nausea in the morning, but after that and since I’ve been feeling great! The pills are SUPER tiny, which I love also. I am taking Isibloom for birth control as well as to stop my period, and it was free through my insurance, but I pay a $15 copay for 3 packs so that I can stop my period! Isibloom is great!"

"This pill got changed on me without notice. I started taking it with no questions asked, but it's making me not interested in sex with or kissing my husband, and both of us are upset about it. I'm gonna be changing to a different pill because this one is not for me."

"So far, I have been taking Isibloom for about a week now. The only things I have noticed are that my boobs are more tender than usual, even after my period was finished. I am hoping they get bigger after seeing a previous review on this page with a girl around the same age as me saying her boobs got bigger on this pill as well. I haven’t had any horrible cramping anymore, and my flow is a lot lighter. I wouldn’t say it negatively affected my mood swings during my period, usually, my mood is really bad, but I have not felt that after using this pill. (Again, I have only taken it for about a week, so I'll come back after like a month and do another update.)"

"As soon as I started Isibloom, I sweat profusely. As soon as I step outside or even inside, if I move around too much. I sweat to the point sweat is literally dripping from my face. It’s been about 5/6 months, and I’m just realizing my sweating is tied to my birth control. When I first started taking it every day, it stopped my period like I wanted. After about 3 months, I started my period despite taking the pill every day and skipping the placebo pill. I’ve been on my period almost a month now... still taking the pill every day. I stopped taking the pill yesterday."

"I started Isibloom in April, and I wanted something that would stop my period. It works, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt, the pill does its job. But in the beginning, I experienced mood swings and nausea, which is understandable because your hormones are changing once you begin. But one thing for anyone looking at taking this pill, I will warn you about now: don't miss a single day. Doesn't matter if it's past the time you're supposed to take it, still take it. I missed two days, and I'm having the worst cramps and heaviest period I've ever had. And for me, that's insane, I used to vomit from pain and had heavy periods before the pill, but this takes the cake. It's a sharp, persistent pain, almost to the point I want to see a doctor. But so far, that has been the worst thing to happen to me. So if you want to take Isibloom, do so. But be warned about the side effects of missing even just one day."
