For Birth Control "I've jumped around to many birth control pills through the years - some landed me in the hospital with severe, blinding abdominal pain, some made me suicidal, and some made me nauseous. This is the first one that did not do that, so I was thrilled. It also bettered my severe, cystic hormonal acne to only about a blemish or two a month. However, it absolutely killed every ounce of my sex drive, which used to be high and healthy. That's been very frustrating. Otherwise, okay pill."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for one month due to hormonal imbalance, so they put me on birth control to regulate me. This pill is bad. I am literally tired 24/7, regardless of how much sleep I get. I am nauseous all the time, loss of appetite, mood swings, and just no energy. We took my kids to the park, and I didn’t even have the energy to play. I also get insane hot flashes where I feel like I’m literally in a sauna. I literally feel terrible and stopped taking it today and plan on contacting my doctor tomorrow. Avoid."

For Birth Control "I've been on Apri for about 2 weeks now. The only side effect I've noticed has been waking up at night or falling asleep at night extremely nauseous, but I assume that's normal because my body is adjusting to the pill. Also, for just being two weeks I've noticed my boobs are getting somewhat bigger. I'm not complaining though. Let's see how the next couple of months go."

For Birth Control "So I have been diagnosed with PCOS and endo and also have high testosterone and diabetes. I started taking this after being off BC for about three years. I recently finished the first month. Missed a couple of days and got back on. The bleeding has been torrential. I have also been stressed and anxiety-ridden, but I am pretty sure that's my job. The odd part? Clot city, but my skin is smooth and clear, and my sex drive is through the roof. But nothing can happen because there's too much blood to have sex. I am currently nauseous now. Trying to get that sorted. But yeah. Really just want to stop bleeding. That's why I took this - I was bleeding for a good 6 months lightly, but now I feel like my body is trying to empty itself. Will update, but for now, I'd like to go to sleep without worrying about my sheets."

For Birth Control "I switched to Apri from Junel (which was a horrible experience). The first 3 days were a nightmare, I woke up in the middle of the night with extreme nausea, but that only lasted 3 days. After that, it has been wonderful, completely got rid of my period, which was the ultimate goal since my cramps were really bad (PCOS). It also has helped my skin wonders and my hair grow really fast. I will say though, and this is the reason I don't give it 10 stars... if you miss a pill and have to double up, you WILL get really bad nausea, so make sure you don't forget a pill."

For Birth Control "When I first started on Apri, it made me nauseous in the mornings. That went away, but around the third month of use, I got really depressed moods for no particular reason and had random bouts of crying. That went away when I stopped taking it. It worked for its intended purposes, but it wasn't right for me."

For Birth Control "I have endometriosis, and my doctor wants me to continuously use this with 3-4 breaks per year to minimize the endometrial growth. I had terrible nausea and bad acne in the beginning, not to mention I spotted for a month straight and then bled a period flow for another month. Taking this pill before bedtime helped with the nausea. I've been taking this pill for 4 months now and have gained 5-10 lbs, the acne is still bad (I'm 34 and no longer had it before Apri). Oh, and my libido is nonexistent since taking this medication. I figured it wouldn't happen to me since I had a very strong libido, but it is now gone. I'm going to ask my doctor to change this medication."

For Birth Control "It's my first month on the Apri pills. I haven't experienced any spotting or acne. I haven't experienced any mood changes, and I still weigh about the same. One day I had a bit of nausea, it didn't last long. Overall, the experience is quite pleasant. I suffer from PMS in the middle of my cycle, and my periods are very irregular. Since being on Apri, I haven't experienced any PMS symptoms (bloating, cramping, mood swings, and headaches in between my cycle). The period is getting back on a regular cycle. So far, so good."

For Birth Control "This pill is overall good. It made me have perfect skin, lighter and shorter periods, etc. It also made my breasts grow two sizes, and they would be very tender a lot of the time. But the bad outweighed the good. I was very moody, when I was PMSing, people couldn't be around me. It made me cry over everything. Also, I couldn't drink! Even after one shot or a glass of wine, I would feel very nauseous and immediately throw up. I didn't think it was the pill at first, I was on it for over a year, but then when I got off of the pill, I was able to drink again normally and wouldn't throw up at all...so I had an alcohol intolerance because of the pill."

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS BIRTH CONTROL! I was previously taking Yaz and loved it, however, I lost a bunch of weight (eating right and exercising), and the pill couldn’t regulate to my new body. I was having a period for 3 weeks, and my doctor recommended I take this as the same hormones, just a different dose than the Yaz. I have been on it for about a week and have had the worst side effects. My mood swings are constant. I could be fine yet crying for no reason. I had diarrhea for 6 days straight, causing me to now have a hemorrhoid. I’ve always had great, clear skin, and now being on this birth control, I have had crazy breakouts on my chin. I’ve gained 10 lbs in one week and feel like I’m going to vomit at any moment. I recommend staying far away from this."

For Birth Control "This was an awful experience for me. I fell into deep depression, couldn't leave my bed for 14 hours at a time and had really dark thoughts. I became a ball of anxiety everywhere I went, my mood swings were insane. I had a headache that literally lasted for 2 weeks straight and painkillers wouldn't do much, and the nausea I felt like I was going to vomit at the most random times, and every little thing irritated me, so I was being annoying to my boyfriend, my friends, and my family, and I truly felt like I was going crazy. I forced myself to toughen up and at least finish the month (there were like 4 red pills left when I realized I didn't want to do this long term). Now I've reached the placebos, so I'm waiting to get my period and then never touch this medication again. I reacted very badly to Plan B as well, so I'm thinking birth control pills just aren't for my body at all. In conclusion, unless you're lucky enough to not experience symptoms, this can and will mess you up!!!!! :("

For Birth Control "Over 6 months ago, I switched to this from a more traditional BC pill because of nausea. I was taking it for acne and pregnancy protection. Cons: My acne got way worse initially and then leveled off to kind of bad. Gained about five pounds, but I'm not sure if it's due to Apri. My periods went from unnoticeable (3-5 days, no cramps) to intolerable, lasting over a week and bleeding like crazy with initial cramping. I have also had frequent yeast infections right before my period since starting this drug. Pros: Boobs got way bigger. Nausea went away."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been on Apri for 9 months. I am on birth control to help intense bleeding and an incredibly enlarged uterus. Please keep this in mind while reading my side effects. These aren't typical for Apri. Apri has given me all of the symptoms of pregnancy without the baby. I wake up nauseous, I have night terrors almost every night (waking up bawling, and that's not normal for me), and a strange craving for eggs, whereas I never really liked them before. I also have slight mood swings that aren't so bad that they can't be controlled. However, it has changed my period length from 10-14 days to 4 days, removed all cramping, regulated my cycle, and saved my uterus. It gets a 7 out of 10 from me."

For Birth Control "I gave it a rating of 5 for its effectiveness in preventing pregnancy. I only do the withdrawal method with this. But the side effects are so awful. Possibly the worst I've had with any brand. It is quite potent, I'd tell you that. I get a lot of headaches, nausea, and stomach discomfort for a week into starting a new pack, decreased libido, and in the beginning, I'm quite dry, which is, uhm, I've never been an issue for me. I get so moody, stress is harder to deal with, I get anxiety attacks, I get so easily fatigued, and the combination of these two I just get so unmotivated to do daily activities. It's pretty bad. I'm changing brands on my next cycle. Maybe a milder combination OCP."

For Birth Control "This is my first month on Apri, and I haven't been on any other forms of the pill since I was 18. I was prescribed Loestrin in 2009 for bad cramping and PMS but got off that due to huge mood swings, bloating, weight gain, and breast tenderness. It is now 7 years since then, and I am using the pill mainly for birth control. I am on my third week and am feeling awful! I have had headaches several times per week, extreme nausea, cramping, and tiredness. I have also felt anxiety and will wake up in the middle of the night. I take the pill in the morning but will be switching to a nighttime routine to see if my symptoms decrease or if I tolerate it better. My mood has been pretty normal, and my sex drive is good. The worst thing has been the nausea."

For Birth Control "Apri has been terrible to me. I’ve experienced painful cramping (not on period), bloating, nausea, loss of appetite, headaches, and I’ve even fallen into depression. I was all happy and energetic before the pill, but once I got on it, I’ve had no energy, and I’m always sleeping."

For Birth Control "I just finished my first month, and this is what I've found. No noticeable weight gain. The first week or so, I was waking up nauseous, but since then, it's gone away. I'm not pregnant. I continued to get pretty bad cramps the first day of my period. I do tend to be a little more tired throughout the day. Overall, so far, so good!"

For Birth Control "I really wish I could rate this below 0. I haven't even finished my 3rd week of the Apri pill, and I just spent 42 hours in the ER because this pill gave me a blood clot in one of my lungs. I knew something was off considering I started this medicine 3 weeks ago as soon as I started my period, and I've been on my period ever since. I felt nauseous my first week. I've had nothing but severe migraines and what I thought was heartburn but turned out to be clotting in my lungs. The chest pain was unbearable after the 3rd day in a row of cramping every time I took a breath. Highly recommend this if you enjoy spending time in the hospital hooked up to an IV or if you enjoy having EKGs and CTs done!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Apri for 3 weeks now, and I feel that I've been eating a lot. It is non-stop eating, all day long. I'm always hungry, and I haven't checked my weight. I've been on 3 different birth control pills in less than 3 months, and I think that Apri is alright so far. No mood swings, some acne, though. I was nauseous on the very first day I took the pill, and I am still sensitive to smells. It made my period lighter and shorter so far."

For Birth Control "Apri has been my first and only birth control experience; it has been pretty fine, but I'm considering switching to see if there's anything that works better for me. Pros- ~Little to no acne! (better than before I was on it) ~Light periods of 4 days during the sugar pill week (prior to the pill they used to be 6-7) ~My boobs inflated a little, went up a cup size ~No weight gain! (managed to lose 10 lbs- that was through diet & exercise though) ~Minimal cramping Cons- ~3-4 really heavy days of bleeding during the 2nd week regularly. Maybe it's just a me problem, I don't know. ~Have been super depressed, anxious, and moody, but who knows if the pill is the cause or my life in general ~Sex drive dropped a ton ~Blood pressure rose ~Slight nausea during period"

For Birth Control "For some context, I am 22 and use this BC for acne/ to stop my periods (because my periods have always been extremely painful and extremely heavy, like going through 5 'overnight 12-hour' extra heavy and extra long pads in a 10-hour day, unable to function). I just started my 3rd pack today (3 months) of continuous use (without taking the white 'sugar pills') and I haven't had a full period! I will say that I have noticed a bit of spotting/ nausea, but I believe that it's mostly due to accidentally being late on a dose due to it starting that next day. I have ALWAYS struggled so bad with cystic, terrible acne, and my acne has cleared up INCREDIBLY!! I haven't had any weight gain, no increased appetite, no water retention that I've noticed. I haven't had any kind of mood changes, and if anything, my mood has gained stability due to no PMS every month. I have noticed breast tenderness and more perky breasts rather than growth in size. I do not use the pill for contraception, so I can't speak on that."

For Birth Control "I was on Apri for about a year. The first few months, I would randomly get hot and feel like I was going to vomit. That went away after a few months. I never got pregnant but also used the pull-out method. I was just hospitalized for two blood clots in my right arm and pulmonary embolisms. My doctor thinks the birth control is what has done this. I don't think I will ever take birth control again, not sure what to do now because I don't want children right now. I am a healthy 25-year-old woman who should not have blood clots, and so far, they have found no other reason why I would have blood clots. Birth control is dangerous!!"

For Birth Control "I was on Reclipsen for years, then Walgreens said the name changed to Enskyce. Now this month they told me it changed to Apri. I’m on my second week of this pill, and I already have spotting and cramping, yet I shouldn't be on my cycle for another two weeks. And I’ve been nauseous. Nervous to keep using this birth control. Never had any problem with Reclipsen."
