For Insomnia "It's a bit too early to tell, but this works better than Belsomra (complete trash) and better than Dayvigo, which only works for me about 1/5 of the time. I've taken Quviviq twice, and both times I slept about 7 hours with a couple of awakenings. The only downside I've noticed so far is next-day headache and maybe a little feeling of unease. Fingers crossed for something else to add to the arsenal."

For Insomnia "DO NOT TAKE THIS IF YOU TAKE GABAPENTIN! I took one 25 mg pill an hour before bed, but it did not put me to sleep. The doctor said to double the dose if one doesn't work. Two worked, and I slept without waking up. The next day, I felt terrible. I would compare the feeling to a really bad hangover. I was very tired, had a headache, felt dehydrated, and just off. It's a miracle I made it through work. I went to sleep when I got home and did not take the meds again. It's day two, and I feel better but still don't feel good. I googled meds not to take with Quviviq, and gabapentin is on the list. It intensifies side effects such as grogginess and headache. Due to my gabapentin prescription, I will no longer take Quviviq."

For Insomnia "Been on Ambien. Works great. No problems. Dr. decided to stop prescribing class 3 and 4 meds at his office. I asked for Quviviq because of the commercial. What a mistake. I haven’t slept for 3 days since I started it. Can’t fall asleep for 4-5 hours. When I finally fall asleep in the early morning, I’m awakened often by nightmares, headaches, and body pain from constantly trying to get comfortable. Then I have to be up for work. Massive migraine every morning. Feel dizzy and lightheaded all day. I am stopping the awful stuff today."

For Insomnia "I’m beyond exhausted. I had 3 nights of absolutely no sleep. And if I snooze for 30-45 minutes, then I can’t call it sleeping. It’s a shallow sleep, with horrible nightmares and real dreams. Then up again for several hours. The next morning and whole day awfully tired and some headache. I’m not taking this drug ever again."

For Insomnia "After a few false starts (see earlier review), I have been taking this for a few weeks, and it has worked for me. I initially had side effects of morning headaches and daytime fatigue, so now I just take two-thirds of the 50 mg tablet, and they have largely gone away. I fall asleep, no problem, and 6 hours of sleep most nights. I live in the UK, and this has been prescribed by my NHS GP."

For Insomnia "I wish I would have read these reviews first and dealt with the Ambien that only half worked. First couple of uses of 50 mg took about two hours to fall asleep. Intermittent deep sleep with disturbing dreams. Waking at times to see things that weren't there. Groggy with headaches the next day. Tonight I had three terrifying vivid nightmares. Fall asleep, wake up terrified after a half hour of deep sleep, then the same cycle again. Then nightmares within nightmares. I thought my husband was trying to attack me, and when he shook me to wake me up because I was screaming but paralyzed, it took me nearly 10 minutes to figure out what was real and what was a dream. This was not listed as a side effect, and if it was, it was lighthearted and vague. Needless to say, I flushed the pills and am typing this review. I'd rather be tired tomorrow, which I will anyway, than be too afraid to sleep."

For Insomnia "Night 1. I took the whole sleeping pill before going to bed. Every time I approached dream sleep, I would wake up... so I was constantly being awakened just at the moment when I was trying to get rest. Every nerve in my brain felt like it was on fire. I got up the next day feeling drugged -- and I mean drugged. I didn't start to feel semi-normal until late afternoon. Night 2 (the following week). I took half a pill before bed to see if the dosage was the problem. Same thing: I was awakened every time I approached REM sleep; my brain felt on fire again; got up with a terrible headache. A friend of mine had returned from South Africa and was jet-lagged; he said he needed a good night's sleep. I said I had some Quviviq... he was welcome to try one, but I informed him that I had had negative reactions from it, but it might work perfectly for him since body chemistries are different. He had exactly the same experience as I did."

For Insomnia "I’ve been an insomniac for 13 years and have tried various medications, but with not much success. I came across Quviviq and decided to give it a try, and I am so glad I did. It’s still early days, but for the first time ever, I am sleeping through the night, yippee!! I did get some headaches and vivid dreams at first, but they seem to be easing off. Can I just say my insomnia is very severe, so I am over the moon I have found something that is working for me? So far, so good."

For Insomnia "I have taken this drug for 2 1/2 weeks to help me get to sleep. It still takes me an hour or more to get to sleep. The day after, I have a headache and feel sleepy, taking several naps. I don’t like feeling dopey all day. I take 50 mg."

For Insomnia "I’ve been taking it for a little over a week… So far, not much benefit, but I understand you’re supposed to take it for a couple of weeks before you start getting the full effect. My side effects are a really bad headache, night sweats, and waking up two or three times. My dose is 50 mg. The best thing that works for me is Benadryl, but due to dementia/Alzheimer’s on both sides of my family, it is best to try something else."

For Insomnia "Horrible is the only thing I can say. I was so excited to get help sleeping. 1st night, slept for 4 hours and woke up soaking wet. Nightmares were awful, headaches, and dry heaved all the next day. Legs hurt, tongue tingling felt worse than no sleep. But thought it was my body adapting to new meds. Tried the next night and slept for one hour and had nightmares again. I felt I needed to run and thought I was being chased just to not be able to move. I dozed and woke up to bed soaked again from sweating and panic. Full terrified moment. Two days of bad side effects. Never taking again!!!"

For Insomnia "This is an update to a previous review. Background: Insomnia for years. Tried many other meds that either didn't work or had side effects. Been on Quviviq now for about a week. Started on 25 mg, and with doctor approval upped to 50. Falling asleep faster and getting a solid 7 to 8 hours. Having normal dreams, sometimes a slight headache the next day, but no grogginess or other side effects. Using Copay Card program. Very satisfied with this medication!"

For Insomnia "I just had surgery and have had difficulty sleeping. Maybe this is too powerful for me because I slept 12 hours but was tired the next day, even taking sleep apnea medication. Sticking to herbal melatonin mixture. I was a zombie. Terrible headaches, but I take other CNS depressants, so not a good fit. Unfortunately, I slept like a baby on the pain medication post-op, but they are taboo. Closing my eyes. Good luck, everyone - I can’t find the right mix since my 3 spine surgeries - I thought this worked, but old symptoms returned. Bummed!"
