For Insomnia "I have worked to get off over a decade of Ambien and was excited about the potential of this drug based on my research (trials seemed kind of bogus, paid for by the pharma company?) and the over-the-top advertising. First 60 days free meds from the pharma company, then nearly $500 a month, insurance covered $18 dollars! I really wish it had been everything touted. But after a two-week trial of 50 mg, I must say it made me feel horrible. Anxious, ‘scratchy’ feeling brain and body. Hours to fall asleep and then unrestful sleep, awakening at 3-4 am unable to go back to sleep. Woke up feeling raw. Bummer."

For Insomnia "I’ve had trouble sleeping over the last few months (falling asleep and staying asleep), so my doctor recommended Quviviq 50 mg. After reading the pamphlet that came along with the medication, I cozied up and waited for a great night's sleep. And waited… holding onto hope I tried it a few times to see if it was a fluke, but after reading other reviews I am relieved to know it isn’t just me. And the itching!! I’m glad I can pinpoint it now. Thankfully, I was put on Ambien, which is more effective for me. The Quviviq also amplified my anxiety and depression. Maybe it affects others differently, but it definitely wasn’t for me. Hopefully, you all have better results. Happy sleeping."

For Insomnia "This is my 2nd update - been on Quviviq for about a month now. Finding over time that I am developing anxiety and depression in the mornings. I kept taking it thinking it would go away, but it hasn't. I had high hopes as I have tried a lot of other sleep meds. I don't think this med will work for me."

For Insomnia "After spending the past two and a half years sleeping in hell on Belsomra 10-20mg/night, I have finally found a caring physician willing to Rx me Quviviq 25-50mg/night. There are still some negative side effects, especially next-day anxiety. But I take a low dose of benzodiazepine to calm that down (but ask your doctor whether that's okay for you, as everyone is different). At least there is much less anxiety and next-day sleepiness with this than with Belsomra; it has a shorter half-life. They both work equally well in the long term, in my experience, and apparently based on their clinical trials. But again, no drug is perfect. I cannot pretend to know whether this drug is right for all insomniacs, but so far it's the best thing out there that these sleep industries have to offer for me. Finally, I do not understand how this is a Schedule IV controlled substance. I cannot imagine getting high off of it. Just another barrier from the government in the face of suffering patients."
