For Skin and Structure Infection "Recalcitrant, severe unilateral maxillary sinusitis. Three surgeries, over two years on various antibiotics. At the third surgery (Gleneagles, Singapore), pathogens were multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa, multidrug-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Aspergillus. Following the third surgery, the medical team chose Primaxin IM (under a different name in Singapore then) as it was promising in lab cultures, plus oral itraconazole and hydrocortisone. After three years of nightmare existence, my sinusitis resolved. Thank God for second- and third-line antibiotics. Let's not abuse them or use them in a cavalier manner. We need to maintain their effectiveness on difficult bacteria."
