For Psoriatic Arthritis "I have had 2/4 of my loading doses. I am experiencing increased urination, bladder pain, folliculitis, and sore throat. I visited my doctor yesterday, who drew labs but did not seem concerned. I hope these side effects subside because they are disruptive to me."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Was using Cimzia every month for 3 years. Seemed to work except for one knee that didn't calm down. Went off Cimzia in Feb, and by July, I had avascular necrosis of my right hip, had replacement surgery in Sept, and now into Feb of the following year, I need the left hip replaced. Drs say Cimzia is most likely the cause of my hip issues. Cimzia works for one issue but then causes another issue. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS MEDICINE, FOLKS!"

For Crohn's Disease "When all else failed (I had done Asacol and Remicade along with 6-MP and other treatments; Remicade did well at first but over time stopped working), I have found this medicine to be a great replacement for Remicade. The nurse comes to the house, so it's more convenient. The only downside is that it's injected intramuscularly and not I.V."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have been on Humira since 2003 and would still be on it if my cost since going on Medicare did not skyrocket. I had my loading dose of Cimzia last Wednesday and was in the ER on Friday. My blood pressure was extremely elevated, and my heart rate gets to over 100 at times. I felt like I was going to pass out. All my tests came back normal, so we are thinking it is Cimzia that is causing my issues. I am going to talk to my doctor, but Cimzia does not seem like it is going to be a choice for me."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Finished 3 loading doses over the past month, now on monthly maintenance. Psoriasis on hands/elbows/feet still bad and my pain from psoriatic arthritis still fairly bad, but I am more mobile, though it hurts to move. Tried methotrexate, Humira, and Otezla in the past. Sick with a cold, we'll see how this treatment goes. Hoping for better results with more time."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Where do I start? Started Cimzia after two other bios just didn’t work. It worked great in the beginning, but I keep getting issues with scalp sores and what appears to be reoccurring UTI symptoms without the UTI. I wouldn’t recommend this medication."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "The first day I had an injection, it was like a miracle cure! My psoriatic arthritis was almost non-existent. Unfortunately, the effects wore off after a few weeks, and by the third month, it wasn't doing much of anything at all. Very disappointing - I'm back to the drawing board in finding something that will help."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I read some reviews on the drug and wondered if it’s helpful how come some people remain on it for 10 years. If there’s no inflammation, why stay on it if it suppresses the immune system? This is what scares me with this drug. I am also taking methotrexate, so I’m not sure which one is working. I was coughing up blood for over a week and called the doctor’s office, who said Cimzia has no side effects, so I should call my primary care doctor to get evaluated. Has anyone experienced bleeding while on the medication? Weight gain I know is one, and perhaps blurred vision, not sure. I have found relief, but like I said, not sure which drug is responsible."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "My psoriasis flared and became the worst I have had in the 30 years I have had it. Also, I have had a significant increase in my lower back and hip pain. I have been having injections in my hips every two weeks."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I think it helps. I was able to stop 4 other RA meds… duloxetine, meloxicam, and 2 others. Also down to a single opioid for pain. However, I’ve had varying stomach and intestinal distress which I forget to correlate to the Cimzia. I think overall it’s perfect for me. After 25 years since my diagnosis, I still have no visible or debilitating joint damage. It has continued to spread, from wrists to knee to shoulder and recently degenerative neck symptoms. But even with the fibromyalgia, my primary complaint remains pain, and so it’s been good. I hate shots, but I don’t even get a lot of bruising and soreness. Good drug. Very good drug, and Medicare Part B covers it. I’m on two shots every 28 days. I've been on it for about 6 years."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "This medication does work as long as you can stay on it and not get off of it. Then, 3 months later, get back on it, and then get back off of it. Then, 3 months later, get back on it. This was all due to my insurance. Now when I do get my injections, I start having spasms in my legs, feet, and hands. These spasms last for up to 30 minutes at a time. I am woken up with them at least 4 to 5 times a night. It has helped me be able to move more pain-free during the day. I have RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis). It does help with the joint pain and discomfort that comes with RA. I have to drive to another city to get my injections."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "I've tried Humira, Symphoni Aria, Remicade, and Concentrix. Remicade worked the best, but it only lasted for about three weeks, and I could only get the infusion every six weeks. Now my doctor has switched me to Cimzia. I've only had three doses, but so far the result has been far less than I had hoped. My back pain has increased threefold, and I've gained at least 6 pounds. I feel tired all the time. Some folks report it took up to 12 weeks to feel better, so I feel like I should give it some more time, but at this point, I wish I were back on the Remicade. At least I was getting relief for three weeks out of every six."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have been taking Cimzia for about 18 months with no obvious side effects. I tried to lengthen the time of taking Cimzia, and when I reached taking it for one month, I had a flare-up which affected my whole body. So, I went back to injections once a fortnight, which brought things back under control. I use the pre-filled syringes and find them easy and painless to administer."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Have been on this alone and together with Metex after agreement with the doctor. Worked very well for about 6 years. I could do a shot in the evening, and the next day it was like I never had an illness. Unfortunately, I had to stop using it when it did not work so good after 6 years. I had built up immunity toward it. On to the next one!"

For Plaque Psoriasis "I've been suffering from plaque psoriasis since I was 8 years old. Random patches everywhere, coming and going. I've tried steroid creams, injections in the site, light boxes - you name it. Nothing worked. Someone recommended I research biologic shots, and this was the only one my dermatologist recommended as I am breastfeeding. Within WEEKS, my spots are 80% better - it's almost hard to believe! ZERO flakiness, no itching, just flat light red patches. I'm amazed and so grateful!"

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "Cimzia worked great for about nine months. It worked quickly in about three weeks. The pain that I had been suffering from for years virtually went away. I had been bedridden for most of 2022 and thought I would never get better. On Cimzia, I was able to drive, clean my house, and travel. Life was good again, until it stopped working two months ago. I will have to try a different biologic. The side effects on Cimzia were weight gain, especially around the belly, and tiredness a day after the injections."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I've been taking Cimzia for almost 7 months, after Simponi stopped working after 4 years. Cimzia started working right away, with weeks having no flares. The pros are high blood pressure and 20 pounds gained, plus rashes appearing on my face and hands that I never experienced before starting this medication. I'm speaking with my rheumatologist about switching to another."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "I am doing well. I have just taken my 12th injection. It has helped with my pain due to stopping the progression. I did, however, have some side effects last injection that concerned me greatly: tachycardia, pounding chest, chest pains, and immediate headache."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I experience so much pain, especially in the hips and legs. I have been on Cimzia for slightly over one year and have had numerous UTIs and bladder issues. Bladder and UTIs seem to be a primary side effect. I still have days when walking or rising is painful. I really didn’t know what expectations I should have had when I started the injections, but at this time, I am very disappointed at how my body has responded to the injections."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I took Cimzia injections once a month at the RA doctor's infusion lab. Worked like a charm on the terrible joint pain in my hands and wrists, until by month 10 I started getting tiny red spots on my hands that eventually turned into what I thought was a rash. Two months after that first appearance of dots and three visits later to a dermatologist and biopsy on my palm, I’m told I have palm pustular psoriasis! My feet and hands are covered with painful blisters, broken skin, and cuts. It’s difficult to walk - have to wear medical gloves to do anything around the house that requires water or prepping food. Waiting to see what my options are after dermatologist consults with RA doc this week. Would not wish this on anyone!"
