For Pruritus "I've had psoriasis for several years, and it continued to increase in area and intensity until recently when I discovered calamine lotion, which I always thought was just for poison ivy. After only a few applications, I had dramatic improvement. And it's only a couple of dollars. The only downside is that I have to clean it off when I go out in shorts."

"I got sweaty palms, winter gloves, and friction from shoveling snow. I developed tiny, itching, burning blisters on my palms. (Heat rash) Calamine lotion works great. A dab on my palm, rub my hands together, and the blisters stop itching and shrink over a few days. Be careful when shaking the bottle. I shook mine with the cap unscrewed, and calamine lotion went everywhere. Some landed in my right eye. I rinsed for 15 mins, I've been using eye drops. I lost my peripheral vision for one day in that eye. That was scary. Three days later, it still burns, is bloodshot, and aches quite badly. Eye drops help. Great lotion for almost any skin condition. Effective... Safe, except for private areas or other sensitive spots. Don't get it in your eyes!"

"I am coming back to re-review because it was my fault the calamine lotion was open. That hurt my eye! But I still have sweaty palms. Now when I use a rake, shovel, pick-axe... Gloves or no gloves, I develop heat rash. Calamine lotion soothes the heat rash, it soothes sunburns. It's a must-have for any medicine cabinet, like bandages or a poly-brand-name. I can do labor. When the day is done and I have eaten, I apply the calamine and my hands stop itching. Saved! And it's cheap but effective! I'm using some generic brand."

For Pruritus "I had rash due to an allergic reaction to prescribed medication that was so aggressive. I was covered head to toe in 35 hours. First trip to ER netted me prednisone, Benadryl, and Zantac, which helped with the swelling but not the crazy itching! After another 40 hours of trying not to scratch, I went back to ER because the rash was still spreading and I was needing a straight jacket for the itch. New antihistamine prescribed, and told to get some Calamine lotion. The pink stuff from when you were a kid? Yep. In the car and slathering pink all over my arms and I am finally getting a little relief. Begged Mom to rub it on my back. THE RELIEF!!! The new pill helped too, but I will never underestimate the power of the pink stuff. $6. Thank you, GOD."
