For Depression "I was started on WB XL 150 mg 8 weeks ago. The first couple of weeks, I had nausea, fogginess, and had trouble sleeping. This started to taper off at about the four-week mark. Last week, my doctor increased it to 300 mg, and I have had fogginess/dizziness. Since I've been on it, I've had some abdominal discomfort. Is this normal, and will it go away? Do you get the side effects again when it has been increased?"

For Major Depressive Disorder "I was prescribed Wellbutrin after being hospitalized in April of 2017. When I got there, that's the first medicine they gave me to try. The only difference I noticed was that I was having more trouble sleeping than I normally had without the medicine. I had no faith in this working for me because they told me they wanted me to stop smoking as I was 17 at the time (I turned 18 in May, it's the end of March 2018 right now, I'm almost 19 atm), and Wellbutrin makes smoking taste horrible, so it's definitely effective for smoking cessation. As far as depression, I'd say it helped for a little while, but soon I needed a higher dosage, and then after a little bit, my suicidal thoughts were back, so I quit taking them. Overall, it wasn't very effective in my case."

For Depression "Wellbutrin was a game-changer for me. I'm diagnosed with PTSD, along with that comes a great deal of depressive episodes. I had tried 15 medications within 7 years-most were SSRIs or antipsychotics. I can say with confidence that Wellbutrin was the only medication I felt benefited my mental health/overall life. One of the first things I noticed was a burst of energy-suddenly I wanted to run, walk, etc. My thoughts weren't as rapid, and my emotions weren't as debilitating as before. However, it's not for everyone, so take this as anecdotal evidence. Start out on a low dose, or you might find yourself too jittery. It can cause insomnia, and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who has hypomanic/manic episodes. Take it in the morning, or it might keep you up at night. I take Zoloft as well-the combination of the two is sometimes called 'well-oft,' and can be particularly good for PTSD/sleep disorders."

For Depression "Really bad. I didn't feel better at all, just constantly 'wired' like I had drank 6 cups of coffee. I couldn't sleep at all."

For Major Depressive Disorder "All this drug does is amp me up and keep me awake all night. That’s just my experience from being on it for a while."
