For Opioid Use Disorder "I am new to opiate addiction but not new to this world. After 3 years of prescribed oxy and OxyContin at 60 mg, with a doctor who would not increase my dose due to my tolerance, I found a hookup that helped me increase my 60 mg to a 210 mg a day habit. Needless to say, I was becoming broke. At the beginning of July, I had a friend check me into a four to five-day clinic at my 26th hour of no oxys due to an effective DEA seizure, I guess. I was hurting and delusional. I asked the question of which one was easiest, and Bunavail won! I think they are amazing! In the 28th hour, I received my first 4.2 patch - it is supposed to be equivalent to an 80 mg oxy. I have had no withdrawals minus that first day I put myself through hell."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was on 16 mg of Suboxone for about 3 months before I switched to Bunavail. On Suboxone, I just couldn't maintain a normal life. I had such terrible headaches, I relapsed every week. I couldn't keep switching from the medication to my addiction, and I was sick of it all. I thought I was doomed to be an addict. My doctor suggested I switch to Bunavail and started me at 8 mg a day. It was, for me, a life changer. I wasn't experiencing the terrible headaches, and I didn't keep relapsing. No cravings! Now I'm tapering off, I'm down to around a half mg a day. I don't think this was even possible for me on Suboxone."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was on 30+ Norcos and Lortabs a day until I hit rock bottom 10 years ago when a family member turned me on to Subs. The doctor that I started with retired and I just started with a new doctor who prescribed Bunavail. Took about a week to adjust, but now no more stomach sounds - my stomach was turning when I was on Subs. Normal life and everything. Have not tried to get off, but my life has changed for the better. Just bought my dream house, not to mention I have a rent house and my job is going great. Get on it now. Give it time and you will not regret it !!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "Bunavail works great for detox and keeping away from opiates, but there is one major drawback, and that's getting the film not to roll back on itself, in which you lose probably 1/4 of absorption not going into your cheek, and instead it can sit in your mouth, your saliva hoping to get it distributed elsewhere, like the underneath of the tongue. I have tried bending the corners to prevent the rolling, which helps a little, but the film still wants to roll. Bend corners 90° for best results. Not supposed to cut the films, but many docs say to do it, which is fine because the bup and naloxone are equally distributed, I called Bunavail to check. But when you cut the films, it seems to be worse on rolling up because there is less surface that the film has to stick to your cheek."

For Opioid Use Disorder "So I've been taking Suboxone for 5 years now, and now this Bunavail came out, and big pharma convinces insurance companies that it's a better management drug when in reality, it's not even close! I see many people relapsing due to this! In my opinion, Bunavail is the worst. Nothing about it does what it claims, from the dissolving to the actual reason for using it. I'd give it a zero if possible, very disappointed!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "Insurance would not pay for Suboxone, so I was given Bunavail, and it sucks in comparison. Bunavail gave me headaches, and I had to take twice the amount to feel okay, but it still gave me a down and out feeling. It did, however, keep the urge to use down, but it made me wish I had never started taking these."

For Opioid Use Disorder "Horrible, was on 8 mg Suboxone a day for a week, and my doctor just switched randomly. After I told him I did not want Bunavail, he gave me 3 weeks' worth, and it sucks. The depression I get in the middle of the day, I still feel shitty and still want to use! I actually went and relapsed after taking 2 4.2 mg tabs and almost felt the full feeling from the relapse. I was falling out a little bit and everything! That never would have worked if I was even on 8 mg of Suboxone. Can't wait to get back to the doctor and make him switch me back. The depression I get from even the slightest withdrawal off Bunavail is awful. Tell your doctor you don't want Bunavail! I believe the true reason they made this stuff is because people cannot inject it like they can Suboxone."

For Opioid Use Disorder "My biggest problem was ease of use. The patch did not stick well to my cheek. It would often almost immediately start to roll in on the edges, sometimes ending up as a small cylinder and other times ending up completely stuck to my teeth. The rate of absorption was thus very different from dose to dose. I wasted quite a few patches because I would often have to reapply. For me, this dosage form was not easy to use and not consistent."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was an absolute mess for 17 years until 7 years ago when I found the answer to my prayers, Suboxone, and ever since I became established with a doctor and insurance, life’s back to normal. So I am an absolute supporter of buprenorphine/naloxone, and I switched to Bunavail because I could no longer tolerate the taste of the subs. And 5-6 months later, I have had not one problem with them. My daughter also tried them, but she experiences withdrawals within a few hours, and she doesn’t like them. Just goes to show how much it varies from person to person. My advice is to at least try them if you, for whatever reason, are considering making the switch. The taste is definitely tolerable, and the convenience of being able to talk while dosing is great!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "So I've been on Suboxone for several years and just got switched to Bunavail because my insurance will pay for it, so I figured what the heck, I'll try it. I read some reviews on here that had me worried about the switch, people saying they had withdrawals on it, it was horrible, etc. I'm on day 3 and have no real complaints at this point. Actually, I feel great, and just one 4.2 mg film lasts me all day. The only problem was the first day it rolled up as soon as I put it in my cheek, that's pretty annoying. I read on here where someone said to fold all four corners back first, and I tried that and it worked great! Thanks to whoever that was. As I said, so far I'm really liking it, and the fact my insurance covers it is a huge plus."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was put on Bunavail because of the constipation I was having on the Bup's. I used to take 2 mg twice a day... my doc told me how great this new Bunavail is, yada yada. The first two days of it, I was going through WD's! My moods were awful, I was clammy but hot, sweating, chills, no appetite. So my doc tells me to double my dosage, and finally, I feel better... no more WD's, but my gosh... the mood swings... I'm like a crazy woman on her period, ready to snap on the next person that irritates me. That's NOT like me, I'm always rainbows and butterflies, and I hate this. While the constipation has gotten better, it's still there. I'd rather have to take laxatives than deal with these mood swings. I'll give it another month until my next appointment."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was told my dosing of Bunavail is equivalent to taking a whole 8 mg Suboxone. I left the office still not feeling well. I was told it is effective within 30 minutes, it took 50 minutes to be able to stomach food, and my headache lightened up a little. About two hours later, I all of a sudden felt withdrawal again. I thought to myself, why is this happening? Why am I back to feeling worse? I couldn't help but question what was happening, I did some research. They're lying when they tell you it's equivalent to Suboxone. They straight up state they give you less buprenorphine so that there's less chance of buprenorphine on the street or less chance of being abused. Doesn't matter how it's taken. They try tricking you."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I have been taking Suboxone for about 3 years now, and it always worked great for me. Well, since my insurance will not cover it any longer, my doc wrote me out this new script of Bunavail. I have to say this is the worst meds I have ever tried. I still feel tired throughout the day, which makes my mind start to wander into the wrong places. A huge con for me is how long it takes to dissolve, I held it in for 1 1/2 hours before I finally said screw it and dug it out. This is a pathetic excuse for a replacement. I will not be trying this again, come next week, I will be paying for my subs, I don't care how much they cost. All this medication is going to do is get people using again."

For Opioid Use Disorder "Went from the regular strips to Bunavail, and it's absolute trash. It doesn't dissolve, it just turns into a gross gummy substance in my mouth, even after waiting over an hour. I am now happily on 16 mg of Subtex pure buprenorphine tablets-no more pesky naloxone."

For Opioid Use Disorder "More research and testing need to be done on this drug before people could get on it. It is very true to MG and does not have higher absorption than Suboxone, period. Bunavail would not be an appropriate substitute for a patient who is stable on Suboxone at higher doses, besides you would have to take so much past the legal limits of Bunavail to not be sick. BDSI - you REALLY need to raise the amount of buprenorphine in the buccal film or figure out how to increase the absorption."

For Opioid Use Disorder "Horrible!!! If your doctor offers you this, turn it down!!! I've been on subs for over three years and got put on this bullshit because of insurance. The fact that it dissolves in your cheek is the only thing Bunavail has going for it. I cannot get out of bed on this crap, my whole body hurts 24/7. It's like I'm consistently going through withdrawals. Take my advice: do not get on this medicine because it's free, you will be stuck on it. Pay for the subs because if you get on Bunavail, you will be back in the streets buying what got you on subs anyways."

For Opioid Use Disorder "Day one of using Bunavail. I’ve always taken the brand name Suboxone. I’m terrified that it is not going to work. Guess will have to see. It has the same ingredients. I have a job to go to. Today when I went to get my script, I could get the regular generic films anywhere except this one pharmacy that has the yellow ones. For Opioid Use Disorder "Awful! This med is so bad. Doesn't stick to cheek or absorb the BUP. It had me doubting myself. And... ahhhhhhh... Why are they pushing this BS? Worst 2 weeks I have had in treatment. Sick, withdrawing, but go back to Dr. Tuesday to change back to Suboxone, almost relapsed. Hating the insurance now for only covering this stuff?"

For Opioid Use Disorder "I've been maintained by Suboxone for over 2 years, and it honestly and truly changed my life around. But after being on it for so long, my doctor switched me to Bunavail since it was longer acting, and you could still talk while it is dissolving. I was thus very disappointed upon the first dose at how long it takes to dissolve and how difficult it is to really adhere it to your cheek, and even if it does stick temporarily, it always comes off and floats around your mouth and ends up all over your teeth. This is made worse when you talk, and by the fact that it takes about 45 minutes to dissolve! I'm switching back to Suboxone."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I switched from Suboxone 16 mgs to Bunavail 8 mgs, and I have to say that it hasn't been a great experience for me. After adhering the Bunavail buccal film to my cheek, they curl up and leave an unpleasant sticky substance all over my mouth. Now, just the sight of the Bunavail packets makes me feel like I want to gag. The half dose rule also really feels wrong to me. The first week took a lot of work to get used to. I am getting the Probuphine implant soon and can't wait until I don't have to get scripts filled anymore, let alone use this cumbersome medication that is Bunavail."

For Opioid Use Disorder "Today was my first day taking Subs, and it all went well. They just want me to figure out my doses, but for the most part, I feel great. No chills, fever, nothing. I feel great, and I wish I would’ve turned to Suboxone way before now. God is good. I feel like I’m going to be in control of my own life from now on."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I found this medicine to be simply awful. I considered it to be like a generic, minus even other 30-40 percent. My prescribing doctor even related that another patient had said the SAME THING. It was less than weak. Even 'doubling up' the dose, its effectiveness was far less than a standard Suboxone, for example. Honestly, Bunavail wasn't even worth the FREE, no-charge trial cost for the 6 months or whatever it was."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was on heroin. I went through a detox program in 2015. I needed a drug such as Bunavail or Suboxone or methadone to support me as I recovered. My goal was to also detox from Bunavail. I began by taking lesser amounts by cutting it in half. However, after a time, I began to have full panic attacks. That had never happened to me, so I did not realize what was going on with me. My doctor was convinced I had underlying emotional causes. I know that Bunavail triggers the anxiety. I'm still on it, and if I get just a little too much in my system, anxiety begins. I take deep breaths to keep it from panic. Also, I must take hydroxyzine to control the panic. That puts me to sleep. Recently, I was given Lexapro to help. However, that made it ten times worse. I went to the emergency room. No one seems to know what to do to help. I want Bunavail totally out of my system. And if I still have the same problem, then I would know some other problems are in me."

For Opioid Use Disorder "Uncomfortable in mouth, does not stick to cheek, little B.Vail packages create a huge amount of waste and unwanted attention. Who wants to open a wrapper marked clearly, and then stick a film to their cheek that will not stay? Will not dissolve in less than 10 mins. Definitely better than being a junkie. Not much difference if you have to hide your meds, you need. All because of the strange and untoward delivery system really, can't they just make a pill that dissolves in the lining of the stomach????"
