For Hyperprolactinemia "I know how difficult it is to pass the first 2-3 days of taking bromocriptine. I felt unbalanced as I couldn't stand properly because I was literally swinging. I felt nausea and constipation, difficulty in breathing, and a clogged nose at night (I woke up a couple of nights because I couldn't breathe). But it was totally worth it. My results are fantastic. This medication treated my high prolactin level and greenish discharge from breasts. Even my period became shorter and much easier to pass. What I would like to recommend is that make sure you're not taking a high dose from the beginning, take 1/4 for like 2-4 days and increase by 1/2 after and take a full pill if prescribed. I know it's not easy to pass the time while you're on it, but it's totally worth it. After a week, I forgot about the side effects and was living a normal life. Right now, it's my second month of bromocriptine and I expect to be totally cured. Good luck!"

Bromocriptine for Hyperprolactinemia "My first day of Parlodel, I started the side effects, my mouth was dry, itchy, vomiting, insomnia, blocked nose, and back pain. I don't know if I should try one more day or just give up because I am still feeling sick."

"My period stopped suddenly. After a year of tests, doctors found a micro prolactinoma on the pituitary gland. I started bromocriptine, half a tablet after evening meal for 2 days, then 1 tablet for 2 days and worked up to 2.5 mg. Yes, the headaches were bad, stuffy nose, and nausea, however, within 2 weeks, I got pregnant. Stopped bromocriptine and had a natural, healthy birth. After breastfeeding for 6 months, and my daughter was taking formula, I resumed the bromocriptine. Had a second natural and healthy birth and did the same again. I have since been taking bromocriptine, 1 tablet with evening meal for the past 2 years. No headaches, occasional nausea, but tolerable. I would suggest to anyone who needs this type of medication to try bromocriptine, or cabergoline if you cannot tolerate the bromocriptine. It has been a life changer for me - without it, I would not have two amazing children!"
