Axitinib "Husband is taking Inlyta now for about 4 months. Visible tumors have reduced in size by almost half. Side effects that have shown up are endocrine in nature: adrenal glands reduced production, feet glands for corns and bone spurs, mucus membrane in sinus, loss of salivation production. Greater thirst is prevalent and additional fluid for intake to maintain hydration. Due to this, 2 additional pills introduced: Levothyroxine for thyroid and cortisone type (??name) for adrenal gland function. Specialists now are: oncologist, endocrinologist, podiatrist, nephrologist (for the 1 remaining kidney), and his primary doctor."

"Taking it for 7 months now. At first, could not tolerate full dose of 5 mg twice daily. I got sores on my tongue, and my anus was raw. I was pale and weak. They reduced the dose to 3 mg twice daily, and I use saltwater to swish in my mouth to manage the tongue sores. I’m sensitive to sunlight now also. Since being on this, I have vitamin D deficiency and take a pill for that, my thyroid levels are off and take a pill for that, and my glucose is through the roof, so I take a pill for that. After all the side effects, the cancer masses are not shrinking, they are slowly getting bigger millimeter at a time every scan (3 months). Doctor is happy with that, but I’m not."
