"I have been on Eliquis 5mg AM and 5mg PM for 5 years now. I was able to take myself off of Losartan by reducing my blood pressure myself, I lost weight and started eating better. I also take Metoprolol twice a day and have reduced that too. I have had ZERO side effects from the Eliquis for 5 years and feel very fortunate that Tricare provides it for me because Kaiser will not approve it until you have thrown blood clots throughout your brain and other arteries, and inevitably end up dying from a Stroke or Mesenteric Ischemia (dead bowel) such as my sister did on Pradaxa and Xarelto. I think Apixaban/Eliquis is the best, and I have done my research. It has the lowest Stroke or bleed rates of all three."

"I was diagnosed with aFib 2 years ago. Initially, my primary care physician prescribed Eliquis. Initially, I said, I'm not taking that. When I researched it and what it prevents, I decided to. The cardiologist who performed the cardioversion told me that I can go off of it 9 months after the procedure, but she said most people decide to stay on it. I'm 68, and Eliquis is the ONLY drug I take. I take 5mg twice per day. I have no ill effects from it. The aFib has not returned. I do have vein issues in my legs, and that is another reason I'm staying on it."

"Just started, and so far, not bad. However, this medicine company is all about making money. Overly priced, and it's said because most insurance companies only cover a small portion of the cost. The average before deductible is 560 dollars for 30 2.5 milligram pills. It's really not right how they hold your life hostage to get rich. You will lose your house after paying for this medicine. So many people are complaining about the price, yet they still hold your life in their hands."

"I have been on Eliquis for 4-6 months. I have had all good results. The only complaint I have is the price. I have been getting free samples from my doctor at this time. I have no drug insurance. I am 66 years old, have MS, RA, high BP, and atrial fibrillation. Taking Eliquis has not added to any of my problems. I no longer have pains in my chest area."

"First dose of Eliquis Mar 25, final COVID injection April 22, heart ablation May 6, then May 12 I could not walk. Have all symptoms mentioned in reviews I have read. The pain in the feet was unbelievable, bedridden for almost 4 months, spent 3 days in the ER, test after test, all came back clear."

"In 2018, I had awful experiences (side effects) with a competitive blood thinner, Xarelto. In early February 2022, my cardiologist prescribed Eliquis. What a difference! Even though twice the copay, absolutely worth the extra out-of-pocket expense."

"I have been diagnosed with palpitations and occasional afib. I was resistant to starting Eliquis, but after much research, I have been on it for a few weeks. I have not experienced any of the severe side effects others have described. Ultimately, my decision came down to this: Do I prefer to have a stroke or endure some potentially annoying side effects? I chose the latter. I’m only 66 and very active. For those considering taking themselves off Eliquis, please be aware you may be putting yourself at a greater risk of a stroke. I recommend getting an Apple Watch if you can, to monitor your heart rate, afib events, etc."

"I have been taking Eliquis since 2017 without any side effects. I take 5 mg in the morning and 5 mg at night. I had an operation in 2021, and I stopped the medication 3 days prior and went back 2 weeks after. In 2022, I had 3 kidney stones removed, and I followed the same procedure as before. My aunt is 96 years old and has been taking Eliquis for many years, she highly encouraged me to take it as prescribed with no hesitation."

"After a stroke in 2018, I began using warfarin, but going for a blood test every week or two got old pretty fast. I was switched to Eliquis, couldn't afford $700.00+ a month, so my cardiologist gave me a discount card for a $10 copay. When it expired, I applied to renew it, but at the time, I didn't have prescription coverage on my insurance. So they said if I didn't have insurance, they couldn't renew. I went back to warfarin. When I changed insurance and had drug coverage, I reapplied and was given another card. Recently, it expired again, and I was told that I didn't qualify because I have insurance (so which is it?). And the discount is only given so people can try it and see how it works for them. I liked the drug, had no side effects, easy to use, wish I could continue it, but guess it's back to warfarin and all the blood work."

"While Eliquis might be a good medication for my illness, it lacks much when it comes to the financial hardship placed on the patient. While working for my employer, I paid for my insurance. Mind you, nothing fancy. However, Eliquis deemed this to be a private plan, and I was provided discount cards which amounted to $30.00 for a 90-day, 180-tablet supply. However, when I went on Medicare Part D with a Medigap plan, it is now $1580.00 for the same dosage and amount of tablets. How am I supposed to cover this outrageous out-of-pocket expense? I did everything that the insurance company stated to do. They were as surprised as I was. Since I can't afford it, I guess I will have to stop taking Eliquis and suffer consequences."

"Extremely expensive. $480.00 for a month supply. Like most, I feel like rubbish all the time. No energy. Bristol-Myers is just a big company ripping us off. I'm going back to aspirin."

"Not sure actually that it worked except for nosebleeds and bruises, along with 10 minutes to stop any small cut from bleeding. It was prescribed because I had Afib with PVCs and benign premature ventricular contractions. Needed to take it because Afib was controlled by medication. After 8 years, I had an ablation, and now, 4 years later, still in sinus rhythm. I think it’s affecting my joints, weakening my muscles and skin negatively. I think I should stop taking it and have an Eliquis vacation to see if it is the cause of cramps, aches, and pains. 14 years I’ve been taking it. Never stopped Eliquis, but I stopped everything else to see if it was the cause."
