"This is the worst antibiotic I have ever taken. I was prescribed this for 10 days for an ear infection. I got the worst yeast infection from this (even while taking a 40 billion probiotic after each pill). I am still suffering from this pill and can seem to get my healthy bacteria back to balance my pH. I do not recommend this drug."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate "I'm only on my 3rd dose, but this is the first day in over a month that I have not had severe gastrointestinal pain, constipation, diarrhea, etc. I actually feel pretty good, but weak. First med was Cipro, and that was a nightmare even though I've taken it before with no problems. Had to stop halfway through the 10 days. I was switched to Levofloxacin (Levoquin), and by the 3rd day of 5, I was not feeling human at all. I was just deathly ill, and pain increased. Yesterday I was given Augmentin 500 twice daily for 10 days. Took the first pill last night, 2nd this morning. I feel human again so far! Time will tell. I'm just hoping I get none of the bad side effects. Already treated a yeast infection earlier this week from the other meds."

For Bacterial Infection "I've had to take this awful drug 3 times in the last 6 months. It first starts affecting my eyes, they get blurry. Then I can't sleep or have nightmares. My muscles get weak and sore, I then start having severe diarrhea, going as much as 15 times in a day. Weak to where I can't get anything done. Plus, horrible yeast infections. Upset stomach, nothing has a taste. I hate this drug."

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Middle Ear Infections "Never again. Actually, I have taken this before, no problems. This time, a different story! Not sure why they gave me such a high dose. The doctor told me to wait a few days before starting to see if the ear pain cleared, as my ear really wasn’t inflamed. I did just that, though, but then figured I would just take it. I got 5 doses in me before the stomach pain started. Now I also have weird tingling and leg pains. So I dumped them! Hopefully, my side effects resolve as quickly as they came. I also am starting to get a yeast infection!"

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Middle Ear Infections "My daughter has had multiple middle ear infections. She was put on Augmentin for the last infection. After two days on this medication, she had severe diarrhea and a yeast infection. We called the doctor and had them switch her to something different."

For Sinusitis "Every time I take this med, I always end up itching down south (yeast infection), severe plus really frequent urination almost like a UTI! I have to use creams to stop the itching. I never finish the meds because I don’t want the itching. I used to take it when I was younger with no problems, but now I can’t even take two without the symptoms. Plus, it never really helps my cold. I have to use DayQuil and other sinus meds to help. I only recommend regular amoxicillin, not the Amox-Clav."

For Sinusitis "I suffer from non-allergic rhinitis, so I am constantly getting sinus infections and inflammation. Amoxicillin definitely works, however, the last few times I’ve been on it, I got a yeast infection afterward, which is just as annoying and uncomfortable as a sinus infection. Other than that, I don’t get any of the GI issues, and it does really work for sinus infections."

"On Amox-Clav 875/125 for 7 days following an open appendectomy procedure. I’ll assume this is to kill any possible infection of the tissues or anything in the lungs post-surgical. I’m currently on day 4. As far as antibiotics go, this isn’t terrible. I prefer regular amoxicillin as this has more marked side effects. The only real complaint I have is it hurts my stomach, and I go to the bathroom about 8 times a day. The GI effects are pretty wicked. And I always get a yeast infection, never fails. 4 stars because it’s neither great nor bad. -1 because of the side effect frequency. Having stomach discomfort on top of a stomach incision is never fun. Can’t wait to finish this out."

For Urinary Tract Infection "The only side effect I have had with this is neck pain and back pain. I also have Hashimoto's thyroiditis, don’t think that would have an effect mixed, but I usually get yeast infections after finishing the meds even with taking probiotics, so we’ll see, this is my first time taking this one."

For Urinary Tract Infection "So I had a UTI around 2 weeks ago, and I normally would have just taken Macrobid or Bactrim, but I had recurring UTIs in the past so they don’t work on me like they should. My mom told me this clears up UTIs fast, which is true, but it may cause a yeast infection. I got one while taking the medication, and now I have been on Diflucan and suppositories to help clear it up. If you’re wanting to take this medicine, I would recommend, just be prepared for a possible yeast infection and let your doctor know ASAP so they can give you some prescriptions of Diflucan and suppositories."

For Sinusitis "I don't like taking medication, you get a bit 25 to 30 pills, and I won't take them all because I hate taking pills. They cause other problems for me, like a yeast infection, so then you have to take medication for that. The number one medicine that I would rate a 10 is a Z-Pak! Knocks sinus out in 5 days!"

Amoxicillin / clavulanate for Middle Ear Infections "I had a swollen gland under my palate due to an ear infection and was given a 7-day prescription for this drug. I ended up stopping with 2 days to go. I have severe itching (feels like bugs crawling on me), yeast infections including in my mouth, severe diarrhea, nausea, heartburn, lethargy, and no appetite. It has been 3 full days since I took this vile drug, and I am still losing weight. I am now down 10 lbs, and it shows no signs of slowing down."
