For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I am a very active 65 yr. old man. I took Alfuzosin for one week. The good: after 3 days, I noticed a significant reduction in the number of trips to the bathroom. That was awesome. The other amazingly weird thing was... I generally felt like I was 25 years younger. The usual aches and stiffness that a man my age accepts were gone, and my physical endurance was much better. The bad: I did have minor headaches that would creep into my day from time to time, and occasionally I felt tired. Also, my sex drive was diminished. The worst: I tried to have sex and had a hard time maintaining an erection. My penis is now disfigured. I have Peyronie's disease, no kidding."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Experienced peeing problem for a year or two, in the end, went to the doctor who put me on Tamsulosin. After 3 months, changed to Alfuzosin. Have now taken these for 9 months. Had side effects of dizziness, bad headaches, and generally feeling jaded and unwell. I can pee better, but that is the only plus, however, I missed taking one day, and it was hell as trying to pee was very painful. I had a cystoscopy two days ago and was told the front lobe of my prostate was too enlarged to have the Urolift procedure. The Urolift was the option I was hoping for, so now I'm left with the Turp, which has unwelcome side effects. I think I have an option of a tablet which may reduce the size, which in turn will aid peeing. Have to say Alfuzosin does not affect everyone like this."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Uroxatral (alfuzosin): This drug gave me headaches and made me feel tired as though I had the flu. And after I stopped taking these pills, I still have extreme migraine headaches for over three weeks now. I am writing this message after midnight because my pain medication (ibuprofen 800 mg) doesn't relieve these daily headaches. You've been warned, do NOT take this drug or Flomax."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I have been on it for about 2 months, have yet to notice any difference. I still pee every 90 to 120 minutes at night. Plus, I have been getting headaches every now and then and am constipated at times. I think I was better off not taking it."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I was taking Cardura (doxazosin) for years, and it did a great job, but after I was diagnosed with cancer, I had the idea Cardura gave me headaches. I was on chemo also for back cancer, and that made the side effects of all the drugs I was on 20 times worse. So, even though I had the radiation, I still needed something. They gave me alfuzosin 10 mg. It works fair at best, no headaches, but less effective than Cardura for sure. Limited dosage makes it less useful as a medicine for BPH and the side effects of radiation. Not bad, but not Cardura either. Waiting for something new to come out."

Alfuzosin for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "It worked well with the first dose, but the sinus headache, rubbery limb feeling, and upper respiratory scratchiness make it not worth taking."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "51 years old. I was on Rapaflo 8mg for about a year until insurance informed me they would not cover it anymore and offered four generic alternatives. Researched all four and found Alfuzosin reviews the least objectionable, so I asked my urologist for a prescription. Daily 10mg dose works just as well on urinary symptoms and does not cause dry orgasm. Slight headache and tiredness on the first day, but both are gone now. No other side effects. Happy so far with this medicine."
