For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I love this. No retrograde ejaculation, and my flow is much improved. I have to take it twice daily, though, to get the desired results. No side effects noticed until I went on a weight loss regimen, and my blood pressure dropped significantly, but once medications were reduced, the dizziness on standing up too quickly disappeared. Highly recommended!"

Alfuzosin for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "It works well if you can stand the side effects: weakness in limbs, dry mouth/throat, constant sore throat that feels like strep, and constant thirst. I had to quit and return to Flomax as it just makes me dizzy."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Experienced peeing problem for a year or two, in the end, went to the doctor who put me on Tamsulosin. After 3 months, changed to Alfuzosin. Have now taken these for 9 months. Had side effects of dizziness, bad headaches, and generally feeling jaded and unwell. I can pee better, but that is the only plus, however, I missed taking one day, and it was hell as trying to pee was very painful. I had a cystoscopy two days ago and was told the front lobe of my prostate was too enlarged to have the Urolift procedure. The Urolift was the option I was hoping for, so now I'm left with the Turp, which has unwelcome side effects. I think I have an option of a tablet which may reduce the size, which in turn will aid peeing. Have to say Alfuzosin does not affect everyone like this."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I have been on Xatral XR for 3 months and still have 6 months of Xatral XR to go. I take it once a day to relax my bladder neck. This bladder neck problem causes chronic pain in my testicles and sometimes in my penis. This is the bigger problem for me. Slow urination has improved well over the 3 months using Xatral, and I hope the testicle pain will go away one day and I can walk normally again. I used to take Arcoxia and other NSAIDs as well, but pain has reduced and I just bear it. Xatral can make me dizzy when I suddenly stand, but I got used to it. However, I took a glass of champagne yesterday and I felt the dizzy spell like tenfold. I could only see white spots and not much color for 30 minutes. I'll never drink again while on Xatral."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I’m 77 and in good shape and eat healthy and exercise. I started using Alfuzosin in January 2018 and stopped in August 2022. Stopped Flomax because of side effects and started Alfuzosin. At first, it worked okay as far as helping with urination but not so much with getting up at night to urinate. That was still 3 to 4 times a night, and only occasionally was it 2 to 3. Finally, it stopped working, and my urination became more difficult and burned when I urinated. It also started affecting my intimacy with my wife, which wasn’t acceptable to me. Difficulty getting and keeping an erection. So I’ve been off of it for about two weeks, and I’ve seen improvement in the dizziness, the burning, the urgency, and the frequency of urination. Sometimes I can go 3 to 4 hours between trips to the restroom now. I’m off this medication for good and feel much better!"

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I started Flomax but didn't like the reverse ejaculation. Doc said try this alfuzosin. I am dizzy, foggy brain, very rapid irregular heartbeat when getting up. Sometimes heart is irregular for an hour. Yes, it works for better ejaculation vs. Flomax, but the heart problems. Wow. I'm only 50. The pill worked fine for three months with some dizziness, not horrible, then all of a sudden it's like I'm 1/4 drunk, dizzy, my heart is going nuts. Totally tired. Stopped the pill and within a week better. Back to Flomax."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Have been taking alfuzosin for nearly a year now for BPH, having previously tried tamsulosin. Took two tablets a day originally but have recently reduced to one as dizziness started to become a problem. Side effects are much less than tamsulosin, particularly better ejaculation and no headaches. Urine flow on one 2 mg tablet a day is more of an issue, though, and also getting more swelling in my ankles. I'm thinking of asking my GP to consider an alternative if one exists that can retain the benefits of alfuzosin but without the dizziness."

"I was on this for neurogenic bladder. Afluzosin dropped my blood pressure so low that I fainted multiple times. It made me dizzy and jittery. My doctor wanted me to go to the hospital. This is a listed side effect of the medication. Unfortunately, I am unable to take this medication."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I have been on Alfuzosin for 4 months now. I had increasing difficulty peeing for several years, and it got to the point where I had a serious prostatitis, probably from lack of flow. After several months of antibiotics to clear the prostatitis, I can pee about 70% better. I take the medicine at dinner time every day. I notice a very slight dizziness sometimes when getting up. I notice a very slight feeling of tiredness all the time. I can have orgasms just fine, no problem with erection either. No diminishment in ejaculate I can detect. I feel I am at the point in life where I cannot pee without some kind of assistance, and this medicine seems to be a pretty good option. I will be continuing with it, probably for the long term."
