For Crohn's Disease, Maintenance "I've had Crohn's disease since '05, and I struggled through high school with flares, pain, and just an unbalanced white blood cell count. My doctor put me on Remicade when I was a junior. A few days after, I could barely walk, my legs were killing me, but to me, it was worth it because I had somewhat of my life back. The summer I graduated, we decided it would be easy to switch to Humira since I was going off to college. It's my senior year, and this summer will be my fourth year on Humira, and I'm actually just having my first flare since starting Humira. They say they don't work forever, but I at least got 3 and a half years out of it. Plus, Humira helped pay for the cost of the medication."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Fantastic response, no side effects except for the occasional bruise. I thought it would take a few weeks/months to really notice a difference. Reality was a big impact after only a few days. One of those cliché ‘feel I have been given my life back’ moments. I really have very little signs of any disease. I was very concerned about risks, but strangely I have not even had a common cold in 2 years!"

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "Just started taking Humira. I took my first shot a week ago. My life has changed completely, I have no pain, I can walk normally. Humira gave me my life back after 4 years of pain. It has also helped my Crohn's as well. I highly recommend Humira."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I am 18 years old. I just found out I had rheumatoid arthritis, and I have been on Humira for 3 months. I have flare-ups every once in a while, but I do have to take Medrol along with it. It's a strong medicine, and it messed up my stomach and gives me heartburn also. I guess for me, Humira will take the 6 months it will to take effect, and till then, this winter will be the worst for me. Keeping a positive outlook on this, knowing I'm not the only one."

For Crohn's Disease, Maintenance "I have had Crohn's disease for about a year and a half, and Humira has been amazing. I felt relief within one month and was in remission within nine months. Life is pain-free. The only side effect is yeast infections every week, and I feel like I have the flu the week right before I'm due for the shot. The shot is painful for 10 seconds, but it is worth it. Remicade is the only other option, and I would use it as a last resort. Otherwise, I am very satisfied."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have been living with RA for the past 8 years. I have it in my left foot and both wrists, moving to my knees. (lovely) @ 53? As everyone knows who is on the site, the pain for most of us is constant. Wake up with it still there if you want to go walking mid-afternoon. Dinner time, tired, don't feel like cooking. Tell your MD. They tell you about Humira.... All these great biogenics on the market, how good are they? Last Saturday, I ended up in the hospital overnight. Feeling heart racing. Sweating, body and mind feeling exhausted, can't move or even lift my hand. Has anybody got any of these symptoms while taking Humira? I welcome any feedback."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "I am a 46 yr old male. Diagnosed 16 yrs ago with psoriatic arthritis and ulcerative colitis. Treated with meloxicam and sulfasalazine, but I have been prescribed so many different NSAIDs over the years. Have had iritis and small patches of psoriasis on knees. Recently, the disease has progressed to AS. Pain in hips, lower back, and neck was terrible. Months of pain. My RA Dr suggested Humira. I researched and initially was nervous about side effects, but honestly, the pain was so bad I needed to try something. I took my first injection two days ago, and already my pain is nearly gone. What a difference in such a short time. No side effects yet, but I am staying positive."

For Crohn's Disease, Maintenance "I have had Crohn's disease for six years. I had surgery a year ago. I had a flare-up a few weeks after surgery. My GI put me on Humira, and it has been a miracle drug for me! No pain or flare-ups. I get to lead a normal life :)"

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "For ankylosing spondylitis and rheumatoid arthritis. I am 28 years old, and today was my first dose. They did two in one, and after 15 minutes, I felt an ease in pain and stiffness, but I probably won't feel the full effect for a couple of days. So far, so good. You have to work with medication. It's a 50/50 type of deal."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I started Humira injectable twice a week in conjunction with Methotrexate and Mobic since March of this year with no side effects, but no felt benefits either. I had to stop due to surgery and restarted once weekly three weeks ago and been having severe joint pain since I restarted Humira, requiring a short course of cortisone. Resumed Mobic a week ago. Joint pain continues, and just haven't felt myself since I started Humira. The pain wakes me up at night, and I am just miserable. This is no quality of life. Thank you all for sharing your experiences, it is a comfort to know other people understand your symptoms and that you are not alone! I don't think this is the best medicine for me. :("

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Was using HumiraPen for a few years. At first I was thrilled because it cleared up the psoriasis almost overnight. Made everything else more bearable within reason except for lupus and fibromyalgia. But... in 12/08, I had a small boil that was handled as needed. One week later, I was found unconscious and in septic shock. That boil blew a 4-inch hole in my side. Hospital records talked of Necrotizing Fasciitis/MRSA! My rheumatologist told me that the Humira suppressed my system so much that I had no warning of such a severe infection. I had no inflammation, fever, or symptoms of any kind. BE CAREFUL... watch for the smallest skin lesion."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have taken my first injection four days ago, and after half a day with just a runny nose and headache, I have become very unwell with such bad backache and pain under my shoulder blade, temperature, and nightmares/depression. I am feeling I may have to stop before the next one. Has anyone out there felt like this after and weighed up the stiffness to severe new pains?"

For Psoriasis "Just took my third shot and I'm starting to notice it's slowing down my psoriasis! No major results yet like I've read from others, but I can tell it's working a little bit. Hope it clears it all like a lot of other people have reported. Don't believe the hype about the pen being so painful, it's not that bad. If you have had psoriasis as long as I have, you are used to a little pain from the itching. I was going to have to pay $200 a month for my copay, but my wife is a nurse and recommended calling Humira to ask for assistance. They have a Humira card that made my copay only $5."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was on HUMIRA for three years after 14 years of methotrexate and a mix of other non-biological meds. HUMIRA was brilliant, however, it has recently stopped working so well, and my specialist is changing me to another anti-TNF biologic. I'm really sad and sorry to leave my HUMIRA behind. It gave me a great three years, the best I've had since I first got RA. I'll wait to see what the new med is like, fingers crossed."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "It was a clearly effective drug. I started feeling better the week of the first injection. However, I had a very bizarre reaction involving a high, persistent fever for more than 3 days, swollen lymph nodes all over my body, hives, severe eye pain, and a dramatic drop in the number of white blood cells."

For Psoriasis "I just started Humira at the beginning of this month, I'll be taking my fourth shot next week. I have to say I'm very impressed! I've had psoriasis since I was 18, and I'm almost 22 now. I have it on my elbows, legs, feet, and scalp. After the first 2 starter doses, my elbows are completely cleared. The spots on my legs and feet are in the process of fading! I'm so anxious to see the improvement after a few months! The only side effects I've noticed are that I'm much more tired and my muscles are achy. But I'd much rather deal with that any day than my psoriasis. I strongly suggest trying this medicine if you are struggling with psoriasis. I was honestly out of options, tried everything else, and nothing ever worked. TRY IT."

For Crohn's Disease "I have been on Humira for 3 years. The injection is painful, but the results are excellent. I do not even feel that I have a disease any longer. Lots of energy and feeling normal is so worth any of the possible side effects. Just be careful and stay away when possible from any ill persons or highly populated areas."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I've been on Humira nearly a year now (I use the self-inject pens) for RA. Previously, I'd been on Prednisone, which helped the pain but had horrible side effects, and methotrexate, which didn't help and had horrible side effects. Humira has been a lifesaver. The shot itself definitely stings, especially in the thigh, but I went from constant pain, a severe limp, and inability to do much of anything to basically a slightly less flexible but otherwise normal able-bodied person. No side effects have yet appeared. I don't know how I managed without it for so long. It's not cheap, but if you make under a certain yearly income and you call the company, they'll work with you to make it affordable."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Humira lowered my immunity to where I suddenly got severe pneumonia that spread very fast. I had never had lung problems before this happened. After 2 weeks in the hospital with all different kinds of antibiotics and antifungal and drained fluid from the lung, I started to get better. This was after stopping the Humira the first day in the hospital. Now I have a scarred lung and cold to show for it. I will not be going back on it!"

For Psoriatic Arthritis "After a year of misdiagnosis, I was eventually told I had Psoriatic Arthritis. It hit me quickly, and within a year, I was in constant pain in my chest, hands, and feet that prevented me from walking far. I was 43 at the time. After years of NSAIDs, I was put on Humira. What a difference! I am 99% pain-free, and the swelling has all but disappeared, all within a month or so of taking it-a miracle for me."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "I have used this for over a year and a half. At first, it worked fine, however, now after long-term use, I have started to have some heart issues. I'm only 53, have had a good heart. The last shot I took put me down for 3 days. The second day after, I was hardly able to walk and had bad heart palpitations along with a high fever, all of which are side effects. I have an appointment coming up and will not take another shot."

For Psoriasis "Reading these reviews finds me nodding my head with approval. After years with plaque psoriasis, it's over... at least for now. I did creams, Enbrel for 2 years, now Humira for about 6 months. Initially, it worsened then got way better. Now, I have been off the Humira for over 3 months and nothing has come back. My skin is 99% better. I had over 50% coverage on my body, and it was unsightly, painful, and nasty. Now it's all gone. At this point in time, I have to say: this stuff is remarkable."

For Crohn's Disease, Maintenance "I have had Crohn's symptoms for about 10 months. I was in severe pain with the constant inflammation. I was vomiting, and the nausea was unbearable. I recently started Humira. After one week of starting my injections, I immediately noticed that I had no more pain. I am able to eat without feeling awful afterward. The only side effects I've experienced are headache and fatigue, but nothing too unmanageable."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Began experiencing rheumatoid arthritis in spring of 2014. Was put on methotrexate and Humira. The arthritis was affecting my wrists, hands, and fingers with severe pain, with some additional pain to both knees, ankles, feet, and toes. At 52 years of age, the debilitating pain was not acceptable. Almost immediate relief from pain was achieved with these medications, but the side effects began. Yeast infections, skin rashes, etc. Quit both meds in December 2014. The severe pain in both hands has returned. Have an appointment in January 2016 with a new rheumatologist for a second opinion for treatment. For those with allergies and sinus infections, try eating some raw local honey each day. Eating honey has taken headaches away for me."

For Crohn's Disease "I have been on many medications but have felt indifferent about them, as I never really saw my symptoms improving or worsening. I just always felt horrible and accepted that this was my life with chronic illness! I feel so strongly about how wonderful Humira is that I had to write my first review. Humira changed my life in less than two months. I am an active student athlete and have never felt healthier than I do now! I recommend it to anyone and everyone who suffers. I know people respond differently to medications, but as much as it has helped me, I think it is more than worth a try. I ended up on Humira because my insurance would not cover Remicade or Cimzia. I am SO glad it worked out the way it did."
