For Psoriatic Arthritis "Experienced allergy symptoms from this (itchy eyes, sinus pain/running nose, etc.). Also had what the doctor called an allergic reaction to the shot on my leg. Started swelling up and got bigger than the palm of my hand. Red, horrible-looking, and it hurt to touch."

For Psoriasis "Humira has been the ONLY option for me. I have/had moderate psoriasis covering approximately 70% of my body with nail involvement. Humira even clears up my fingernails! I've been able to wear shorts and go swimming without being overwhelmingly self-conscious for the first time in years! On a side note, I find that the old-fashioned syringe is much less painful than the pen auto-injector. Hope this helps."

For Crohn's Disease "I have been on Humira for 8 weeks. The first 2 injections 160 mg left me in total agony for 9 straight days. Hip joints, knees, ankles, and Achilles in both legs were extremely painful with every step I took. I have a job where I work 12-15 hours a day on my feet, putting in 10-15 miles a day. I couldn't work. Called my doctors relentlessly. They told me to keep taking it. On day 10, no pain at all. On day 14, took 80 mg. Started sneezing and haven't stopped. Been tested for flu, strep, bronchitis, pneumonia, and COVID. All negative. Took 40 mg. Still sneezing. Been sneezing now everywhere I go all day and all night. Went to ENT doc, going to an allergist. All tie back to Humira. Bowels no different 8 weeks in. Hope to be off Humira by Christmas. Awful med."

For Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis "My daughter, who is 11, was on Humira for a year. She has now developed psoriasis, and her nails have crumbled and fallen off. More worryingly, though, her legs are twitching all the time, her joints are all swollen, and she is struggling to walk and is in severe pain. I am terrified that she has neurological damage caused by the Humira and muscle weakness. She is waiting for joint injections. I spoke to rheumatologists who dismissed it and said it wasn't due to Humira. Could someone please advise me if they gave nerve damage due to Humira? My poor daughter has been off school for months and has no social life now."

For Ulcerative Colitis "Dealing with needles the last 20 years of my life, I didn't think I'd have a problem. But, I dread every other Monday with Humira. It actually hurts when injecting. And my thigh or stomach goes red and is sore for 3 days after injection. Plus, I am overly tired in this time frame, which makes working 12-hour shifts challenging. Is it working? After 4 months, I'm still open to it, but I haven't noticed any changes. Like I said, I've never been afraid of needles until now. This pen thing really sucks."

For Psoriasis "So I developed psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis with my first pregnancy. Had patches on elbows, ears, face, scalp, and back, they were small patches. But covering my whole entire elbows, it was definitely painful and uncomfortable, not to mention embarrassing. So after the birth of my son, my rheumatologist put me on Humira pen (eventually switched to the syringe). In 2013, it did not take full effect until almost a year later. I got off Humira because I moved to a new state and had to go through insurance again. It took about 6 months to get approved, now I have just started again. Hoping it will kick in faster this time. I would have rated a 10 if it didn't take so long, but I will say this medicine DOES WORK, give it time."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "13 injections so far, my blood work looks better on some of my visits. I have allergy-like symptoms continually, which are a nuisance: runny nose, itchy eyes, etc. I am sitting here in pain, and fibromyalgia aggravates everything. I wish something would make me feel better completely."

For Crohn's Disease "I had 4 infusions. The last was the 8-week dose. Next day into two weeks in bed. It has been 5 weeks since the last infusion. Crohn's disease is better but not worth any of the horrid side effects. Horrid. Not belly pain as warned, but pain like high-level labor pain day or night. The nausea is the scariest part. I was 165 lb when I began. 6 months after starting Remicade, I am now 135. It doesn't look good on me, almost 70. And I am so weak. These last 5 weeks, I have been a shell of myself. Don't plan a trip, wedding, cruise, anything. This stuff is barbaric from my viewpoint. The side effects are worse than my Crohn's disease. I will ask my GI for a pill that gets directly to the small section of inflammation I have. This med is going way overboard. It is awful. It was a chemo drug at one time."

For Crohn's Disease, Maintenance "First, the shot is very painful, and I have a very high pain tolerance. The whole time, I've never been in remission, and for about the past year and a half, it stopped working, which means options are out."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "I took Humira for 4 months. The injection was quite painful until they changed me to the citrate-free one. I felt like I had a bad case of the flu for 3 days, and then it was better. I didn't notice that much difference in the pain, but the stiffness was better."

For Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis "The drug itself has been awesome. My 14-year-old daughter no longer has any of the pain or stiffness. Like the other reviewer, our problem is with the injector. It is easy enough to use, but she dreads it every time. She wants to switch to the syringe. Outside of that, the medication does what it's supposed to."

For Crohn's Disease "Horrible. Absolutely horrible. I do 40 mg weekly using the prefilled syringe, and oh my God. It's the most horrifying pain I've ever felt. I would tell anyone considering going on Humira to strongly reconsider and rethink your options. It may only be 10-30 seconds, but it will make you cry, no matter how tough you are. It's also not helping with my Crohn's disease at all, 0 change in inflammation. Do not use this."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "I have had psoriasis since I was a young teenager and started getting sore/stiff joints in my late 20s, around the same time the psoriasis got significantly worse (covering a lot of my hands/fingers). The Humira didn't really help my psoriasis plaques, however, it was great for my joints. I noticed no more pain and stiffness in my joints, which was really noticeable when I stopped taking it for a couple of weeks before taking my next medication, Tremfya."

For Plaque Psoriasis "Shots were painful, made my psoriasis worse, developed plaque on palms of hands and bottom of feet, and made other areas worse. Since stopping it, have started Taltz, which is helping, but these lesions are very resistant to treatment. I went from having a mild case of psoriasis to severe. I regret starting to take biologics and should have stuck to topical medication. Advice: do not start them if you can deal with them with topicals. You become dependent on them, and then they stop working, and you have to go on to a new drug with many potential side effects."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "I was on the med about a year and a half ago. I loved it - cleared everything up! I felt good and confident! I did, however, get in a car crash shortly after the medication was kicking in. That being said, I was given medication to bring down inflammation and pain in my freshly injured spine, hip, and pelvic bone. When it came time for me to do my injections, the pain pills I was on interfered with my injections, and I started getting a large swollen circle around the injection site. My dermatologist quickly pulled me off of it, and it's all come back 10x worse. I remember waking up every day more disappointed and angry because having this disease is already obnoxiously itchy and painful, but going from having nothing to a big breakout makes you go crazy, and it felt worse than ever. I guess I was too used to having a good thing."

For Reiter's Syndrome "Was on Enbrel for about 6 months, and it stopped working for me. Humira and a combination of oral drugs had me pain-free in a few days. However, it does not feel like it lasts a full 2 weeks. After day 10, I start with minor pain working up to about a 5 or 6, then back down from there."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I was diagnosed about 2 months ago with plaque psoriasis, and this condition really had me feeling depressed at first. My doctor referred me to a dermatologist. I began phototherapy at the end of October, and I started the Humira injections last week. Today, I notice my skin clearing, and I wasn't having a lot of pain, so today I'm much happier with Humira."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "All but one finger on both hands was in excruciating pain to use. Couldn't snap, buckle, or dress, all daily activities needing fingers were impossible. The pain left after the loading dose of 80 mg. But the enthesitis in my right hip is killing me today, a couple of days ago, it was my heels. But I can use my fingers. It has been a month, and I do feel swelling beginning again in my fingers. I'm upset that it seems to have done the good it was going to do, and enthesitis and sloppy ligaments are making it hard to walk. I would like to try Stelara myself."
